Blessings to each one of you, our precious family in Christ.
We love and appreciate each one of you!
As we come into a brand New Year, I believe Jesus wants to give us a focus and
vision for harvest. Often before the Lord produces fruit in us and through us,
He calls us to a season of pruning where He strips away the old and births the
new. Pruning is a divine preparation and part of the process of becoming a Kingdom
harvester.
My heart is stirred to call the bride of Christ to passionate, holy love expressed
in our relationship with the divine Trinity, with each other and with the lost.
Let's rejoice in God's goodness in our lives, surrender to the Spirit of God
and allow Him to do whatever it takes to prepare us for harvest, to reach out
in His love to a lost and dying world.
Always your sister and friend,
Catherine Brown
PRINCIPLES FOR HARVEST in 2004 -
Rejoicing In the Winter Seasons:
John 15:1-17
"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener." John 15:1
Be Rooted and Grounded In Love Relationship With God
Father is described here as the gardener and as every green-fingered person
knows, a gardener really cares about what they plant! We are a planting of our
heavenly Father's righteousness (Isa 61:3b). Jesus is the Vine, and like
Him we are nurtured, tended and cared for by our heavenly Father. Jesus points
us continually to relationship with God, and to submission to His sovereignty
and authority in our lives.
Being rooted and grounded in the love of God is a wonderful dwelling place of
acceptance, of affirmation, and through this intimacy with God, we are moved
in compassion to harvest with Christ.
Learn to Trust God - Pruning Will Produce Fruit
"He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit while every branch that
does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful." John 15:2
Jesus allowed Father to shape Him in order that much Kingdom fruit would be
produced, and He did so from a position of trust. Similarly, we must choose
to trust and surrender to the pruning process as the Lord sifts us from sin
and from self (will, ego, fleshly desires, etc) and purifies our hearts and
minds. Being pruned can be uncomfortable because we may feel naked and vulnerable
before God. Remember his arms are the safest place to be. And just as spring
naturally follows winter, we can be assured that bearing fruit is inevitable
when we are in right relationship with the Lord, as a God-ordained, spiritual
wilderness will produce new growth and fruit (Gal 5:22-26), which glorifies
God.
Get Rooted and Stay Grounded In The Word of God
"You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you." John 15:3
God's Word brings us to maturity as we embrace the divine principles of the
Kingdom contained in it. The Word of God is our plumb line for right living.
God wants to wash us in His Word and teach us His ways, but it's not so much
about rules as it is about our friendship with Him. The Bible is a safe and
solid foundation and Holy Spirit loves to illuminate the Scriptures and bring
revelation to a hungry heart.
Bear Fruit From a Place of Rest
"Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself;
it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in
me." John 15:4
Jesus gives us free will, and His heart's desire is that each of us will choose
to remain in him. The outflow of intimacy with Christ is that He produces wonderful
fruit in our lives and through our lives.
It's imperative that we understand harvest doesn't come
from striving; it comes from rest and simply allowing God to be God in us. Striving,
stress, works, and performance are what result from us trying too hard and not
allowing Grace to gift us into God-reliance. Self-sufficiency is our worst enemy
if we desire to bear Kingdom fruit. We can relax safe in the knowledge that
we produce nothing; it is all the work of Holy Spirit!
SUBMISSION AND HUMILITY - Keys to Kingdom Fruitfulness
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him,
he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not
remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches
are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned." John 15:5-6
Jesus loves to lead by example and lifestyle. He demonstrated surrender to Father's
will (Matt 26:36-42) and now He asks for ours. As we submit to Christ's
rule in our lives it produces the beautiful fruit of humility. The virtue of
humility releases God's authority and his Kingdom rule. Once again Jesus re-emphasizes
our need of him. Without a close bond to Christ we will end up in works and
become brittle, dry, and suffer burn out. We don't have to! God's love is unconditional,
and He doesn't require anything from us except our surrender and obedience.
Spectacular Intercessory Promise - Harvest And Intercessory
Prayer
"If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and
it will be given you." John 15:7
Remain means "continue to be." Therefore all we have to do is remain in Christ
and He will delight to answer our prayers. Under God's anointing our humble
and heartfelt prayers and acts of selfless love will usher in the greatest end-time
harvest of souls saved, healings, signs, wonders, and miracles this world has
ever seen if we will but choose passion for Christ as our priority. It's not
about works, it's about the wonder of His love. The first commandment to love
God with all our heart, mind, and soul must always precede the second - to love
our neighbor as ourselves (Matt 22:37-40), otherwise we will become exhausted
and run the risk of losing our God given vision.
Bearing Fruit Brings Father's Glory
"This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves
to be my disciples." John 15:8
We need do nothing, we simply need to learn (or re-learn) how to be in God's
presence and understand that He loves us because He loves us, not because of
anything we think we can produce. Fruitfulness is a free gift of God's Grace.
God's Love - The Highest Motivator
"As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.
If you obey my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my
Father's commands and remain in his love." John 15:9-10
Jesus was not exempt from obedience to His Father and neither are we! God's
Love must be the highest motivator in our lives. When we obey God, it helps
us to go deeper in our love relationship with Him. Intimacy with God and obedience
to God is a key to unlocking harvest both on a personal and corporate level.
JOY - A Key to the Harvest!
"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may
be complete." John 15:11
Love and Obedience = Joy. Joy is a key to the harvest. Jesus gifts to us complete
intercessory balance as we co-labor with Him. His joy is necessary because when
we harvest we may encounter situations that will break our hearts. We need to
keep Christ as our focus and respond in the Spirit, and not in our souls, to
the needs that we see around us.
Servant Love Is Commanded
"My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has
no one than this that he lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends
if you do what I command." John 15:12-14
Friendship with God results in a desire to be obedient to God. Obedience is
the hallmark of a humble heart postured in servant hood before the King of Kings.
Obedience is not difficult when it flows out of the reality of love and acceptance
by Christ.
Revelation Comes With Relationship
"I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's
business. " Instead I have called you friends, for everything that I learned
from my Father I have made know to you." John 15:15
Jesus demonstrates that when we are in right relationship with Him, He releases
revelation to us straight from the Throne Room of Heaven. What a privilege that
we are invited to sacred friendship, and to partner with Father and "be about
his business"! (John 4:24, 12:49) Divine disclosures will flow
to us and through us as we prioritize and pursue fellowship with Christ. We
are gifted with priestly, precision, prophetic anointing, which will lead to
transformation of lives saved, healed, and delivered.
Jesus Christ - Lord of The Harvest
"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you to go and bear
fruit, fruit that will last." John 15:16a
We are chosen, called, and commissioned in Grace by our Lord Jesus Christ (Matt
28:18-20), who is the Lord of the harvest (Matt 9:35-38). We have
been appointed to bear abundant fruit - fruit that will last for all eternity.
It doesn't depend on us! It's all about God and his glory. The key to being
fruitful is in our relationship with the Lord. Harvest is the fulfillment of
our relationship in Christ and is also about bringing people into relationship
with Jesus.
All Hell Trembles At The Name of Jesus
"Then the Father will give you whatever you ask in my name." John 15:16b
When we use the name of Jesus in prayer and in demonstrations of love and mercy,
all hell trembles. Jesus Christ is Lord of the harvest! When we harvest with
Christ we are enveloped in his compassion, which releases miracles. Compassion
releases the power of the Kingdom of God on the earth.
"This is my command: Love each other." John 15:17
In 2004 and beyond may we walk in Christ's commanded love and lay down our lives
for the sake of our precious Savior.
"And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive
out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their
hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they
will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." Mark 16:17-18

a Teaching CD from Catherine entitled "Principles for Harvest" for absolutely

One would be hard pushed to find a person
who would not derive some significant enjoyment and benefit from reading
Catherine Brown's book, "The Normal, The Deep, and The Crazy." As
the foreword indicates, it is written from the stuff of real life. Indeed
the book is a welcome companion on our journey.
From those who have bought and read the first copies of the book, released
in May, come reports of people receiving great encouragement, fresh insights,
and a new sense of hope and purpose for their life. Avoiding any sense of
sensationalism, Catherine recalls and recounts a story of pain and humor,
trial and error, depression and joy. Every story, like every life, is unique,
yet we gain so much as we encounter a life that is shared.
Although the book does not set out to ' teach,' one cannot help picking
up truth, or 'seeing' old truth from another angle. The discovery and rediscovery
of God, that is Catherine's experience, will touch your heart and challenge
any temptation to settle for mere religious observance. For too many following
Jesus has become a hobby that must 'fit in' with life.
Catherine Brown demonstrates just how close God can be to those who hear
his heartbeat and stop to listen to his voice.
For those in the late teens and twenties, this book will show how early
passion is lost through wrong choices. More importantly, Catherine shows
how 'those who hunger and thirst' will be 'filled.' There is a generation
rising up who are looking to radically pursue their God, and who enjoy and
celebrate His loving pursuit of them. Catherine Brown is a forerunner for
these extreme prayers, worshippers, and servants. "The Normal, The Deep,
and The Crazy" will serve them well.
It certainly is a good starting place. So, at whatever stage you are at
in life, this book will stimulate the memories, the mind, and the heart.
Read and enjoy.

This CD is an EXCELLENT companion to this word! Every time I hear Catherine
speak on compassion and mercy, I literally get "choked up" inside. God has
truly touched this woman!
In this teaching, Catherine speaks of the pruning seasons that we all go
through as we reach our destiny. It's not always comfortable, in fact it
can be downright painful, but the pruning enables us to yield a richer harvest.
