Chuck Pierce: "You Must Worship Your Way Through the Confusion into a New Dimension" Plus "Final 8 Days of 40 Days of Prayer"

by Chuck Pierce
Oct 6, 2009

Steve ShultzFrom the desk of Steve Shultz:

Here are the final 8 days of Chuck's 40-day guide for prayer for the Church. I love Chuck Pierce and his Issachar revelation. It's always RIGHT ON TIME! "How can it always be on time if we each read it at different times and sometimes on different days, depending when we receive it or open our emails?" you might ask.

My answer is simple because God's answer is simple. According to Psalm 139, every day was planned out FOR YOU before one of them came to be; and even though you MUST MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICES, it just seems true (and certainly biblical) that God knows ahead of time what you will choose. God seems to even choose the moment your eyes will fall on the Word for that day. Chuck operates in this gifting and this spirit.

So whether you read this entire prayer strategy straight through or one day at a time, every day, you can trust me that what your eyes fall on today (or any day), what stands out to you, was likely preordained for you to see right when you saw it, and it went right into your heart.

I love these prophetic words and even how Chuck uses natural events to prophecy spiritual truths. Jesus did this all the time as did Solomon before him. The natural always speaks of the spiritual.

In this word below, some statements that stood out to me today are these:

"Beware of contending with foolish entanglements" (you can read for yourself the details of this word).

Speaking of the devil: "He knows that we are on the verge of breaking through and uncovering the spoils that he captured in the last season or even the last generation!" (read to learn how to fight back).

After reading this, you'll understand why we will be having Chuck here in Albany, Oregon, along with Dutch Sheets and Kimberly Daniels at the beginning of January for "What is God Saying for 2010?"

Chuck understands the times and the seasons and you should make it here so you too can understand what lies just ahead for you, your family, and the Church.

Dear Friends:

I hope you are doing well. Many changes are manifesting in the earth and in our lives as we enter the new season ahead.

A Prophetic Exhortation! What is that sound in a distance?

Sound goes before movement. Now is the time that new sounds from Heaven are entering the earth. Get ready for the move of God that is beginning. New bears witness with new! He has been making you "new." Get ready to move with Him as He manifests in the earth. The Lord says: "The sound you are hearing is that of horses' hooves. Heaven is mounting up. Rise up and look beyond. See into a place, a realm, that you have not fully seen. Like John, whom I brought up to reveal the future from the present, I am bringing you up to reveal things to come. Do not be surprised by the unexpected. Do not be caught unaware, for many surprises are now in your path. As the horses are mounting up, there is a sound in Heaven that is stirring in a way that will cause you to move forward as an accelerated troop in the earth this day.

"An angel named Remembrance is being dispatched. I have remembered all that you have spoken and I have recorded the faith decrees you have spoken. I am causing a promise that has been within you to come alive. I am preeminent in your promise. How I manifest is not just dependent on you. You have been depending upon yourself to bring forth what I have said, but I am preeminent in the manifestation of this next phase of what I am calling you to experience. Cry out, and I will remember what I have spoken and acknowledge the cry within you. Extend your eyes across and into a heavenly realm.

"Look at Me and SEE beyond the natural realm that surrounds you. There is a supernatural realm I am calling you into. There is a place where you will know darkness and you will know the movements of the enemy. You will know the enemy's shadows. I will show you where the enemy has produced a shadow and created something around you that is not reality. You will not fear the enemy for you will know and see how the enemy would trap you. You will know the ways the enemy is moving to stop you from seeing, as well as what I am ready to manifest and surprise you with. Extend your eyes. See in the distance a new place to cross over into a land of blessing that you have only seen from a distance. I am going to take your hand and help you climb to the top of that mountain. I am going to give you a supernatural ability to see and peer across into a place that you know that I have prepared and have been waiting for you to enter."

Below are the final eight days of our 40 Days to Revamp, Receive a New Vitality, and Move Forward Toward the Promises of the Next Season. This is the week of the Feast of Tabernacles. As I fly to the Middle East, I will begin new devotionals that can help lead us into a "new dimension of joy."

DAY 33

I am now in Colorado Springs. These are challenging but wonderful times. You must worship your way through the confusion and into a new dimension. Today is a day for you to create a sound. Take a tambourine or anything that you can strike to declare: "My heart is steadfast O God, I will sing and give praise. Awake my glory like the harp and the lute. Awake my glory!" I loose steadfast and firm footing on you as you go up the steep path ahead. I declare you will have "Hinds Feet On High Places!" I declare the things that tripped you up in the past season will not be a snare to you in this new season.

Recently, Linda Heidler's foot fell asleep while she was having her quiet time. When she arose to walk, she didn't have feeling or control, and she fell and tore her ligaments. To every place that has fallen asleep, I say there will now be a flow of His Blood to make us strong. I declare every place that has lost its strength because His Blood was inactive in us will come alive. I call for a new release of His Blood to go into every extremity of our bodies so that there is not a single place of weakness or infirmity. Any place in your body where you have fallen asleep and the blood is not flowing right, lay your hands on that part and decree that it will come alive in a new way. Then decree this over the Body of Christ:

I decree that the joints which cause God's people to connect and move in different ways will have a new blood flow until we all come to the unity of the faith. I declare a disciplined mind so you are not pulled to the right or to the left, but your mind and thoughts are steadfast on Him. Decree that your thoughts are getting in timing. Some of you do not know how to grab hold of that "flash" thought and words of knowledge to get them in God's timing. I pray that every thought will come under Father's power and authority, and that the thoughts He is bringing in will be set in His timing to cause our feet to walk in perfect timing. Those things trying to "yank your chain" must let go!

Read 1 Corinthians 5 and Romans 6. Read 2 Corinthians 7 and 2 Corinthians 9. Meditate on and Memorize Habakkuk 3:16-19.

DAY 34

The Head of the Year for 5770, Ayin (The Hebrew Year 2009-2010), began when we had the Tent on the new property. The trip to Kansas last weekend was a beginning. God is gathering a Scattered, Traumatized, Liberated, and Redeemed Group of Overcomers! He has placed glory deep within many. He is just waiting to call forth refreshed troops to the frontline. These troops are ready to pray, praise and be bold witnesses. You are one of those!

There are some things of which I am absolutely sure. These truths are so deeply developed within me that the enemy cannot snatch them from me. The offer that a Holy God has for redemption is a "sure thing." This redemption, which also includes our salvation, was purchased at a great and personal cost. The Lord Jesus gave Himself to defeat the works of the enemy and overcome the power of sin, death and the grave. His obedience delivered us from an eternity of separation from His Glory. Our forgiveness is based on the price of His shed Blood.

"In whom we have redemption through His Blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace" (Ephesians 1:7). The redemptive work of Jesus Christ delivers Believers from slavery to sin. The means of redemption is through the death of Christ. His sacrifice for our sin ransomed or paid the price to release us from the sentence of death in prison. His Blood was the ransom payment (Ephesians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:18-19). His death balanced the scales of God's justice. This satisfied Father's heart for mankind and reset the clock so His blessings and purpose in the Garden for mankind could be restarted and come into fullness (Romans 3:24-25). To experience this in your life, you must:

1. Enter into REPENTANCE! Change your mind and make any changes necessary to advance forward.

2. Receive MERCY to get past any failures or faults that would hold you captive in the last season of life.

3. FORGIVE yourself for making wrong moves and release anyone who has hurt you. This will free you to advance.

4. BREAK the curse and cycle of your "golden calves." These were built in your life when you were unwilling to wait for God's plan and boundaries. You most likely chose a different path of worship during that time. Yes, you worshipped, but your expression had some form of idolatry.

5. Break the power of the sin of UNBELIEF that caused you to turn from the promised destiny that you know the Lord has offered in your life. I call this "The Sin of the Spies." They entered, reviewed their promise, and then refused to go to war to receive the blessing. In their process of fear and unbelief, they slandered God's will for their life and received a reproach. Remove any reproaches from past defeats.

6. PREPARE to ascend to the Throne after you have humbled yourself. This will allow you to gain new revelation and worship in a new way!

7. RECEIVE THE BANNER FOR YOUR FUTURE! His banner over you is love. Let Jehovah Nissi arise and follow Him into a new place of victory and triumph.

Read John 10. Meditate on Ephesians 1 and 2.

DAY 35

Identities take a shift from one season to the next. You may have gone through an identity crisis or been known as something in the past season, but in this new season, the Lord has a new plan! He has a plan to transform you for this season. He has ways to remove the last season of loss so you are positioned for victory in this next season.

The Book of Ruth contains one of the most idyllic stories in the Bible between two people who know loss but find love again. A widow, Ruth, meets a widower, Boaz. She crosses cultural lines and they inter-marry. Two people overcome their religion diversities and one converts to Judaism and finds love and oneness in Him. A city that had lost its identity emerges from famine to a new restored agricultural life. Ruth the Moabite is a Jew-by-choice whose commitment to Torah Judaism makes her worthy of being the great grandmother of the prototype of the eventual Messiah-King! All of these reforming of covenants cause the eternal life of Israel to continue. The putting aside of broken emotions and going forth into the future by a small group of people causes all of mankind to have a future.

The mood of the story is fashioned from the start through the meanings hidden in the names of the participants. Elimelech means my God is King, foreshadowing God's Davidic order and lineage of kingship. Naomi, meaning my gracious/pleasant one, later asks to be called Mara, bitter one. Naomi's name change elicits the emotions that she is experiencing and the direction of the story. Even the names of the two sons, Mahlon meaning sick and Chilion meaning weakening/pining, represents the condition of their body and soul after the loss of their inheritance. The first daughter-in-law, Orpah, meaning nape or back of the neck, turns her back on Naomi and returns to her people. The other daughter-in-law, Ruth, meaning friend, pledges her loyalty to Naomi. Boaz, meaning strength is (in) him or he comes in strength, becomes the kinsman redeemer, and Obed's name appropriately means servant. Obed is the ancestor of King David, and Israel's kings are servants. Any identity can change or be brought into a new plan of fullness.

Naomi, whose name meant pleasant, had nothing in her heart but bitterness. She even declared that she was to be called bitter. The enemy can so assault us in our lives that the very opposite of what God intended for us becomes our identity. For Naomi that meant that her pleasantness had turned to bitterness. Yet in the midst of her emotional distress, she remembered that the inheritance her family once had was back in Bethlehem, not in Moab, so she decided to go back to her familiar chaos and desolation.

Let the Lord remind you of your inheritance. He has a plan to restore your ALL! Follow Him into this next season and watch Him guide, position, and favor you in the days ahead.

Mediate on Psalm 43. Read Ruth 1, 2. Memorize Psalm 30:11.

DAY 36

RE-LOOK! Do You Perceive the New? "Behold, I do a new thing. Do you perceive it?" God used the prophet Isaiah to ask this question in Isaiah 43. In other words, the Lord could be doing something before your eyes, but your senses miss that which you have been waiting and watching for if your attitude, alignment, or aptitude is not properly in order. In the midst of our confusion, hurt, change, grief, desolation, despair, and death, we must be perceptive enough to recognize Him as our very present help in the time of trouble! In our mess, can we perceive the will of God correctly? Can our spirit once again break into a new life flow and remain renewed, filled, and powerful? We must perceive correctly when the new begins.

What the Lord is saying to us as we enter this season is: "RE-LOOK!" How you looked at something in the last season is not how you will see it in this season. How you saw the hard circumstance that you had to maneuver your way through in the last season is not how you will see that circumstance in this season. You will look again and see that situation from a different perspective because time has elapsed and the emotion of the situation has changed.

Perception uses all of the senses. The five senses are SIGHT, TOUCH, SMELL, HEARING and TASTE! These senses are involved in COMMUNICATION! To perceive is an act of apprehending, understanding or entering into an awareness of the reality of something that has invaded your atmosphere. After the trauma of the crucifixion and the death of the Lord, the disciples on the Road to Emmaus in Luke 24 could not perceive correctly that the one visiting with them was Jesus Himself. However, once they took communion, their eyes were opened.

The power of our communion keeps our conscience (the eye of our soul and the window of our spirit) clear so we can see and perceive properly. The disciples did not perceive, but the moment the Lord spoke to Mary after His resurrection, she knew Him. He appeared to her as a gardener outside the tomb. Though His form was different, she could hear His voice and immediately knew He was the Lord! She could perceive because she had been delivered, fully knew His grace, and remembered His words! What made Mary know the Lord was that once she began following Him, she never looked back. His sheep know His voice, and if they will follow, He will lead them into all righteousness.

At every crossroad of decision, you will take the right turn. Perceive, Choose, Follow and Find Redemption! God has places of choice for us. When we get to a key deciding place in our life, we find a biblical principle at work: God always gives us the opportunity to go all the way or to turn around and go back and find our own way. Only by making God's choice to continue past grief to find a new glory can you experience His best.

RE-LOOK! What was a great test has now become a testimony!

Read and Meditate on PSALM 66. Memorize Psalm 121.

DAY 37

What is that sound in a distance? Sound goes before movement. As mentioned earlier, the Lord says: "The sound you are hearing is that of horse's hooves. Heaven is mounting up. Rise up and look beyond. See into a place, a realm, that you have not fully seen. Like John, who I brought up to reveal the future from the present, I am bringing you up to reveal things to come.

You will know the ways the enemy is moving to stop you from seeing what I am ready to manifest and surprise you with.

Now is the time that new sounds from Heaven are entering the earth. Get ready for the move of God that is beginning. New bears witness with new! He has been making you a new. Get ready to move with Him as He manifests in the earth.

Read Revelation 1-4. Memorize Revelation 4:1-2. Meditate on Acts 2.

DAY 38

This new season is a time to turn away any reproach that has attached itself to us from the last season! The Lord is extending revelation from Heaven. Reach up and wait expectantly to receive what you need for your end to be greater than your beginning. Stake your ground (the portion that the Lord has for you) and decree that the best the Lord has for you will manifest in the three year window ahead! So many cycles are coming full circle. Many of these cycles were results of sin and caused a nation to run away from the covenant of God.

Sin produces something known as a reproach. A reproach is defined as a source of blame, discredit, disgrace, shame, humiliation or scorn. Once sin embeds down in you, a reproach is created that works against the favor of God. Recently in a meeting at Rutgers University in New Jersey, the Lord impressed me to say, "I have now lifted favor from this nation. Fear not! Even though favor is lifting from the nation, I am going to pour favor on My Kingdom people in this land!"

Favor means pleasure, desire, delight, to be pleased with or favorable toward something. When God is pleased with us, His favor rests on us. But sin can stop God's favor from resting on us. In this case, we exchange God's favor for His disapproval. A reproach does not mean that we have lost our salvation or our standing with God. It does mean, however, that the favor God longs to give us in some area of our lives is blocked because of the iniquity that has now infiltrated our garment. Until we make our lives right before God once again, we (and perhaps our descendants) will live under the effects of that reproach.

How do reproaches manifest? There are many ways that a reproach can work itself out in the life of an individual. A common manifestation is an uncircumcised heart. In the Old Testament, the physical sign of the Abrahamic covenant was circumcision. When Joshua took the children of Israel into the promised land, all the circumcised males had died in the wilderness. Therefore, God told Joshua to renew the sign of circumcision throughout the new generation. "So it was, when they had finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed. Then the LORD said to Joshua, 'This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.' Therefore, the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day" (Joshua 5:8-9). This passage shows that by obedience to that command, God removed the last of the reproach from Egypt off the people. All the shame and disgrace of their slavery was gone.

Today, it is not a physical but spiritual sign we bear, which is circumcision of the heart. Deuteronomy 30:6 explains "And the LORD your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your descendants, to love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live." When you have not had your heart opened up to covenant with God or you continually break that covenant, you cannot bear the sign of the covenant, which is a circumcision of heart—loving the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live. Without circumcision of the heart, reproaches, such as slavery and idolatry, will not be fully broken off your life.

Many illnesses are linked with reproaches. Reproaches caused by sin have much more of an effect on our basic bodily and mental functions than many of us realize. In fact, we know that the wages of sin is death—physical death. By the same token, a result of sin is also illness. For instance, ulcers and other stomach ailments can be caused by sin-induced anxiety. Even though not all illnesses are a result of sin (see John 9:3), many need to be addressed with this understanding.

A reproach can be detected by the absence of the Presence of God. Reproaches can also manifest and result in barrenness, decrease, and poverty. When we are sent to war and lose the conflict, a reproach comes upon our lives or the life of a nation.

We wear a reproach! We must be reclothed for the future. Unless we remove the reproaches of the past we can never enter into the favor God has for our future. The reproach of the past then becomes our garment for the days ahead. Future is an interesting word that means there is a "yet" time ahead. The concept is that we have an end that we are expected to reach. Many people are gripped by the fear of what they perceive in their mind that lies ahead on their path. Many have regrets from mistakes made in their past and have a hard time believing that they still have a future. We, as God's children, should be filled with hope. To have a future means that you are attached by a divine cord to the heart of God and He is giving you hope that your end will be greater than your beginning. We should be extending our hand to readily grasp what is ahead of us. Remove all reproaches and wear favor into the next season.

Read Zechariah 3 and Psalm 37. Meditate and memorize Psalm 37:37. Read Amos 9. Ask the Lord to give you revelation on the Tabernacle of David. Read Jeremiah 29 and Daniel 4. Thank God that He knows your path ahead and there is revelation and wisdom that He has kept sealed for you until now. This revelation will overthrow the enemy's plans and schemes against you. Shout! Read Jeremiah 29:11-13 and Jeremiah 33:3 out loud. Declare that your future is secure. Rejoice all day!

DAY 39

As we enter this new season, we must break satan's scheme set against our lives. The enemy plots and plans to develop a strategy on our path to divert us from accomplishing God's will and entering into His blessings. Satan uses occult spirits to keep covered and hidden many of his strategies, plots and schemes against God's covenant plan. However, the strongman can be uncovered. As we submit ourselves to God and resist the enemy, personally as well as corporately, he must let go and flee. Stop and ask the Lord to reveal plots being devised by the enemy to create fear and bring destruction to you, your loved ones, businesses, cities, and even nations.

This is a season to SEE! Not only should we cry out to see the Lord face to face, but we must open our eyes and see the movements of the enemy in our midst. Many of us have a hard time seeing the enemy's snare that has been strategically planted on our path of life. Therefore, we step into his tangled web and spend much of our time struggling to free ourselves from his distractions and plan of conforming. To conform means to develop a blueprint that will mold us into the way of the world instead of us staying free to think God's way and walking in the present truth of this age.

Satan forms a covering that hides his ways. We must look past the visible to see the invisible and any supernatural force that would trap us and keep us from accomplishing the Lord's will. Let me describe Lucifer, the devil, from Ezekiel 28. This chapter says "He was the model of perfection and covered and adorned with every type of jewel…he was anointed as a guardian cherub and overshadowed or covered every place he walked…until wickedness was found in him. Then he was filled with violence. His heart became proud on account of his beauty. He corrupted wisdom and through the abundance of commerce was filled with lawlessness and violence. Through this, he desecrated sanctuaries." (paraphrased)

The time is NOW for us to declare that what has been hidden will be seen. The covering that has veiled our eyes through unbelief is related to occult spirits. Occult means: to conceal or cause to disappear from view, secret, mysterious, and supernatural. The Lord has many secrets for us to uncover. He is longing to reveal many mysteries to us as we enter this season. In the book, How to Minister Freedom, edited by Doris Wagner, I have a chapter called "How to Blind the Evil Eye."

Satan hides his ways from the eye of our understanding. Therefore, our eyes must be filled with light. He creates occult lines (geometric lines throughout the earth), and uses magic and devious words to hide his place from sight. He uses the atmosphere around us to conceal his plan. He creates a veil. He hides, conceals, secrets, caches, screens, buries, cloaks, masks and disguises his plan so he can keep us from uncovering God's fullness in the earth.

Another synonym for veiling is to block! He will use deceptive methods to block our path. Satan has ways to watch after his iniquitous streams and resources in the earth. We need to become active in our spirit man and allow Holy Spirit to rise up and remove any veil that is blocking or hiding God's best for our life. How we worship is key to communion and seeing God. In His light all darkness must flee. The Body of Christ cannot afford to stand still and agree with passivity as we enter this next season. Awake! Shake off your slumber, and remove the sleep from your eyes.

Draw near to God and watch the enemy's covering be removed and see him flee! The enemy has a voice to bring deception into our life. Ask God to show you any deception or lie the enemy has brought into your life. Let God reveal to you the supernatural qualities that the enemy possesses. He is the father of lies and can only work with any resource that we give him. Cut ties with anything embedded in your soul that is holding you captive. Jesus resisted the voice of the enemy. Ask the Lord to fill you with the Holy Spirit! Even in your wilderness you can resist and receive new power.

Read Genesis 3, Luke 4, Ezekiel 28, Isaiah 14. Meditate on John 8:44. Memorize James 4:7-8.

DAY 40

Contend as you begin! You have now entered a new season. This is the week of the Feast of Tabernacles. As I fly to the Middle East, I will be doing devotions that will lead you into a new dimension of joy. The seven days linked with the Feast of Tabernacles are so important for us to develop a new joy and strength in our inner man. Let's finish these 40 Days by understanding fully who we are contending with as we go into this next season.

"The devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." Therefore, we must "resist him, steadfast in the faith" (1 Peter 5:8-9). Always remember, the enemy wants to block your path. If he can tempt and divert you from your course, he can stop you from entering into the full portion (inheritance) that God has for you. He will develop strategies against you to bring deception and then division. He develops ways to accuse you so he can hold you in condemnation. He wants to block your supply and release a spirit of infirmity or weakness against you. Do not be ignorant of his wiles.

Active faith is essential in receiving anything from God. When a person accepts Christ as Savior they immediately become a Christian soldier. They have entered warfare against satan and his host of evil spirits. In order to defeat the devil's wiles we must "put on the whole armor of God", "wrestle against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places", "resist the devil", and employ spiritual weapons which are "mighty in God for pulling down strongholds." In the name of Jesus we are commissioned to "cast out demons." All this requires commitment and total aggressiveness against satan's kingdom.

The tempter is watching for the first moment that you enter into passivity. He watches for your passivity so he can redirect your path. He knows if you stay on the path God created for you, you will overthrow his plan and accomplish all that God planned for you. The tempter wants to stop your influence at this time. God has a distinct path for each one of us. By being at the right place at the right time you will prosper. Our emotions can be embedded by the devil and he can lead you in the wrong direction. This is a key time to learn this! Trust in the Lord! The tempter will work against you through distrust. Even if he has trapped or defeated you in the past, know that God can get you back to your path.

How does the TEMPTER operate? The word tempt means to prove, to try, to be involved in a trial, and to be moved into distrust against an authority in your life. Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tempted. Let all of your temptations come under control of the Spirit of God. Temptation is designed to refine your path. Consequently, we need to process our circumstances under the direction of the Holy Spirit. Temptation puts your faith and patience to a test. The TEMPTER has the RIGHT to tempt us. Temptation is not sin…until you agree. Do not allow the tempter to overtake you. Use him to produce new overcoming faith in you. The tempter places evil on your path to divert you from God's destination for you. The tempter's strategy is to tempt you over who God is and what He has said to you! He wants you to believe God is not directing you. He wants you to believe God is holding out on you to make you shift from where you are. He sends others to tempt you. Remember Job's wife. In the midst of Job's trials she said, "Curse God and die!"

When God speaks to you, the word of God will be tempted. The word God gave Joseph was tested. The Word will be tested to refine you so it can manifest in your life. Joseph was tested in many ways—through betrayal, accusation, abandonment, imprisonment and rejection. To accomplish his goals, satan must find a way to entice you with these things on your path. His goal is to get you to fail in your tests. This stops you from producing a TESTIMONY! Choose to be HOLY! Set aside a time for the Lord to sanctify you. Being tempted is one thing, but falling to temptation is another thing. One may rejoice in being tempted (James 1:2). However, when we fall, satan clothes us with shame, disgrace and condemnation. Choose to rejoice as you defeat your enemy! Command the voice of the tempter to be exposed! Some of you are on the verge of great multiplication and promotion. Stay steadfast and do not give in to his wiles. Your testimony will fully dethrone his power and you will find yourself with your foot on your enemy's neck!

This will be a season that the enemy sends great temptations to divert us from staying steady on the path that God has ordained for us. We must CONTEND with the tempter now! To contend means to grate against, to anger, to meddle, to stir up and to strive for victory. Isaiah 50:8 says, "Let us stand together: who is mine adversary? Let him come near to me." We must not draw back from our enemy at this time in the history of the Church, nor in the history of this nation. Moses told the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 2:24, "Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle." The time has come to cross over and battle for the inheritance of this land. We must contend for the House of God to reflect His wineskin for this age.

Beware of contending with foolish entanglements. Proverbs 29:9 says, "If a wise man contends with a foolish man, whether he rage or laugh, there is no rest." Do not let the enemy lead you into battles that are too great for you. One promise the Lord is speaking to me is from Isaiah 49:25, "…for I will contend with him that contends with thee, and I will save thy children." Our families are being distracted from God's purposes. Yet He is contending with the enemy for our children so they might understand His Spirit. In Jude we find, "…and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints." This is a season to contend for our faith. Religious spirits will arise to stop our faith from increasing.

Contend also means to vie with a rival and bring to close a point of contention. This word is linked with struggling for victory. Another word very closely related to contend is "wrestle." Ephesians 6:12 says, "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Wrestle comes from the word pallo, which means to vibrate or shake. Shake your enemy off of your back. This word also means a contest between two in which each endeavors to throw the other to the ground. The victor is decided when the opponent is held down and the victor's foot is put upon the opponent's neck. This is linked with the Christian's struggle with the power of evil.

Do not be afraid to contend this season! Satan knows that we are on the verge of breaking through and uncovering the spoils that he captured in the last season or even the last generation! The enemy has heard that this is an anointing that is being released. Consequently, he must counterattack by releasing a horde of seducing spirits now! BEWARE OF THE DANGER OF SPIRITUAL RELAXATION! Be patient, but be on the offensive! Keep prophetic revelation flowing from Heaven into your heart (Proverbs 29:18). Keep your vision adjusted and refined! "Though vision tarry, contend and wait for it." Your wilderness in the last season was only meant to produce power in you as you enter this season. Enter with confidence and boldness. You will see the desire you have on your enemies accomplished. BE BOLD! BE STRONG! The Lord God is Mighty in your midst.

Read Matthew 12, 1 Samuel 30. You can bind the strongman, pursue, and take back the spoils that have been taken from you. Trust the Lord to connect you with those who can pursue and overtake your enemy. Refuse all discouragement! Recover all. Meditate on 1 John 2 and 1 John 3. Ask the Lord to fill you with His love so that you can break any sin strategy in your life and destroy the devil's work. Memorize 1 John 3:8 and Psalm 92. Read Ezra 8. Stop and let the Lord show you the enemy that is on the road ahead of you.

In 2001, Chuck Pierce and Rebecca Wagner Sytsema shared a vision from God, calling on the Church to reestablish His standard of righteousness. Urgent yet hopeful, this call was for people to arm themselves for spiritual war against such enemies as moral decay, false religion, hopelessness, apathy and violence.

Now they tell what has come to pass since the publication of The Future War of the Church and offer a fresh look into the future that will very soon become our present. In this revised and updated edition, the authors reveal that God is still calling His people to join together to do battle with the forces of evil in this world, empowered by the One whom death could not conquer.
