I like what Leslie Herrier shares in her article, "Don't lose confidence!" Yes, we are living in tumultuous days, no one can deny that, but God is releasing His Spirit amongst us and giving us bold confidence to not be afraid. As you'll read in Leslie's article the Lord woke her up recently and said, "Do not be afraid."
Let me remind you that "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).

"Today, the Lord Invites You to Realign Your Spirit with His Word and Promises"
Oftentimes, a breakthrough comes when circumstances make it seem most impossible for it to come. At least, that is how it often works in the Kingdom of God. And of course, satan knows this, so he will be working his hardest to throw you off track at that time. Being an opportunist, he will use this pressure point in your walk with God to bombard you with his most convincing lies and sideswipe you with rationality. His hope is to make you think you are being just a little too hyper-spiritual. After all, "Did God really say...?"
Don't Lose Confidence!
Today, the Lord invites you to realign your spirit with His Word and His promises (especially your personal promises—quit doubting, for yes, you did hear from God). Yes, that was His voice. Deal with your enemy today, for he is "prowling about seeking whom he may devour" (1 Peter 5:8). But following this Scripture, the next sentence is the remedy: "Resist him, steadfast in your faith."
The enemies that speak such discouragement to you at these spiritually critical times in your life have names. The first of these is the spirit that acts like Rabshakeh. He is found in 2 Kings Chapter 18. The Rabshakeh was the title for a governor or chief of staff. In this case, he was an official of Sennacherib, King of Assyria. This is his voice:
"What confidence is this in which you trust? You speak of having plans and power for war; but they are mere words. And in whom do you trust, that you rebel against me?...But if you say to me, 'We trust in the LORD our God,' is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has taken away, and said to Judah and Jerusalem, 'You shall worship before this altar in Jerusalem'?
"Now therefore, I urge you, give a pledge to my master the king of Assyria, and I will give you two thousand horses—if you are able on your part to put riders on them! How then will you repel one captain of the least of my master's servants...? Have I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, 'Go up against the land, and destroy it'...
"Do not let Hezekiah deceive you, for he shall not be able to deliver you from his hand; do not let Hezekiah make you trust in the LORD, saying,'The LORD will surely deliver us; this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria'...
"...For thus says the king of Assyria: 'Make peace with me...and come out to me; and every one of you eat from his own vine and every one from his own fig tree, and every one of you drink the waters of his own cistern; until I come and take you away to a land like your own land, a land of grain and new wine, a land of olive groves and honey, that you may live and not die. But do not listen to Hezekiah, lest he persuade you, saying, 'The LORD will deliver us.'
"Has any of the gods of the nations at all delivered its land from the hand of the king of Assyria? Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods Sepharvaim and Hena and Ivah? Indeed, have they delivered Samaria from my hand? Who among all the gods of the lands have delivered their countries from my hand, that the LORD should deliver Jerusalem from my hand?" (verses 19-35)
Rabshakeh's goal here was very strategic: Make them lose confidence in God by stating distorted facts. However, he forgot to leave out one little point—all those nations who were defeated by Assyria did not have Jehovah for their God. This is what our enemy does. He causes us to look at the natural world instead of keeping our eyes on things above. Like Peter and the waves of the stormy sea, he wants us to take our eyes off of Jesus.
God Will Bring You Safely Through Attack and Confusion
The second foe is known in the Scripture as Sanballat. Tobiah and others also worked with him, and were just as bad. They did their best to stop Nehemiah from rebuilding the fallen wall of Jerusalem. This is how they speak to us:
"...they laughed at us and despised us, and said, 'What is this thing that you are doing? Will you rebel against the king?'"—Nehemiah 2:19
"But it so happened that when Sanballat heard that we were rebuilding the wall, that he was furious and very indignant, and mocked the Jews. And he spoke before his brethren and the army of Samaria, and said, 'What are these feeble Jews doing? Will they offer sacrifices? Will they revive the stones from the heaps of rubbish—stones that are burned?'
"Now Tobiah the Ammonite was beside him, and he said, 'Whatever they build, if even a fox goes up on it, he will break down their stone wall.'"—Nehemiah 4:1-3
Later, Scripture tells us that as the wall went up, Sanballat and Tobiah became so angry that they conspired to attack Jerusalem (with the help of the Arabs, the Ammonites and the Ashdodites) and create confusion. But the faith and prayers of the people brought them safely through to complete the wall.
"Do Not Be Afraid"
I felt that I was to deliver this word to you, as the Lord has been bringing these Scriptures to me now for a few days. I sense that there are many that need to be reminded that there is an enemy out there who would like to frighten you away from your destiny and calling in God. But remember, the Lord is not daunted by the chariots of Egypt or the commanders of the army of Assyria, so He certainly is not threatened by your circumstances.
Your God is a living God who loves a good challenge. And He loves it when He can say of us as He said about Caleb, who did not fear the giants of the Promised Land: "But My servant Caleb, because he has a different spirit in him and has followed Me fully, I will bring into the land where he went, and his descendants shall inherit it" (Numbers 14:24).
Recently one morning as I awoke, I heard the words, "Do not be afraid," three times. Immediately the Lord led me to 2 Kings
19:6: "Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard..."
Precious ones, many of you need to embrace that word and pick up your sword and your shield of faith and continue your prophetic destiny, trusting the Lord. God is not a man that He should lie (see Numbers 23:19).
"Now I saw Heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True..."—Revelation 19:11
