OVERVIEW OF THE APOSTOLIC COUNCIL OF PROPHETIC ELDERS

Once or twice a year Dr. Peter Wagner of Global Harvest Ministries convenes key prophetic leaders from around the nation. These meetings are to dialogue over what we see God is doing in the Church, in society, and throughout the world.

In the past, prophets have been more known for their independence rather than their accountability for their prophetic revelation. These meetings have been very good to share insight and gain more clarity over what the Lord is attempting to do today throughout the world. Many times we discuss various regions that we feel the eyes of the Lord are focused on so we can begin to target these areas in prayer.

MANY PROPHETIC STREAMS REPRESENTED

This particular group of prophets represents many of the prophetic streams in our nation. This group is in no way exclusive in its membership or presentation of what they believe God is saying to the Body of Christ. We are also fully aligned with other roundtables that meet, and respect the revelation that God is releasing through them as well. These are key "times" to seek the Lord. We must hear from heaven to see our land healed and the Kingdom of God advance.

NOVEMBER 28 MEETING OF THE APOSTOLIC COUNCIL OF PROPHETIC ELDERS

The meeting on November 28 began with an hour-long intercessory burden being expressed before the Lord for our nation. We have seen fully the war for a new administration to come into place. Because we are in a leadership crisis in this nation, those attending interceded and released prophetic declarations to attempt to establish God's will from heaven to earth for NOW in the United States.

RECEIVING A DEFINITIVE WORD FROM THE LORD OVER THE ELECTION

Cindy Jacobs reported the following: One top subject for discussion was the fact that many prophets were having trouble receiving a definitive Word from the Lord about the election. Two thoughts were put on the table concerning this. The first was that there is a difference between prophesying the will of God as opposed to giving a "Thus saith the Lord, this will happen" word.

Many prophets have strongly felt that they had a Word that George W. Bush would be President, but would not say this outright because they felt the positioning of our next President would only come about through intense intercession.

THE PROPHETIC MOVEMENT NOT SPEAKING AS BOLDLY AS THE LORD WOULD HAVE THEM SPEAK?

The second thought was how the endorsement of a candidate would impact tax benefit status of 501(c)3 organizations. This has a great effect on the church and it has kept the prophetic movement from speaking as boldly as the Lord would have them speak. A time of searching hearts took place where we simply asked the Lord to show us if this was so. We also asked the Lord to reveal to us any blindness that we might have in this area. As far as we knew this had not taken place, but we felt to pray and submit this area to the Lord in our lives.

CONTINUED INTERCESSION TO UNITE THE NATION

Another issue discussed was that after the new President Elect was announced there needed to be a transition team of intercession put into place to help the nation unite.

MAJOR ISSUES REGARDING PROPHECY

We then discussed several major issues regarding prophecy. The first was conditional prophecy. The next major topic we discussed was the relationship of strategic intercession to prophetic fulfillment. "If my people, who are called by name, will humble themselves and pray ... I will..." These seem to be two issues that the Body of Christ does not understand-preventing us from seeing a full move of God in accomplishing His will on earth.

THE VALUE OF PROPHETS COMING TOGETHER

Discussion also took place on the role of the prophets coming together for corporate prayer and intercession to "prophesy" the will of God and seek council together. The anointing on the group is much greater than when we are seeking God separately.

STRATEGIC INTERCESSION FOR PROPHETIC FULFILLMENT

We want to encourage you to take the following prophecy and then use this revelation in prayer groups so that the will of God can be accomplished.

POTENTIAL FOR RIOTING

We believe it has been revealed to us that the Devil plans to create great trouble in America in the near future, possibly through riots in some of our major cities.

We also believe that God's people can prevent this by their prayers of intercession and repentance. To this end we are releasing this Word to the Body of Christ, believing the promise of II Chronicles 7:14, that if we pray God will prevent evil and heal our land.

A word of warning came from one of the prophets who received a strong visitation from the Lord concerning riots after the elections. This is important in light of the recent election results. The meeting took place on November 28 and we did not know the outcome in the natural at that time.

The transition teams of intercessors should stay in place for forty days after the announcement of the President Elect. Also, we agreed there was a time frame of six months for the need to pray against riots.

U.S. MILITARY

A warning was given that we needed to intercede for the military for revival and that God would have our nation battle ready.

The prophets were not giving a Word about a battle, but we did pray about this and felt that we should give a warning to pray for the military without further direction from the Lord.

RUSSIAN JEWS

Finally, we still have a burden for the Russian Jews. We believe that intercession has protected them from a serious time of persecution for now, but we are still receiving reports of a slowing down of emigration by the government. Please continue to intercede over this issue.
