Get Ready!

As I was praying, the Lord began to show me that there needs to be a diligence on every Believer to increase their fire for God. What it means to be on fire for God is to be in a radical pursuit of holiness, constantly pursuing the face of God, living a sanctified lifestyle, and developing a stronger, deeper relationship with the Father. Romans 12:11 says, "... not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord" (NKJV). Tend to your spiritual life as diligently as you tend to your personal life. It is a lot easier to keep a fire going than it is to restart one. The same is true about your fire for God and for your spiritual walk; you have to continually foster it.
Most people encounter God, but they don't steward their encounters afterward by reading the Word every day and living by the principles written in it. Joshua 1:8 says, "Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do" (NLT).
When you consistently rehearse the Word of God in your mind and speak it out of your mouth, you begin to build faith and develop belief for the things God has promised you. Stewardship of encounter is crucial, because sanctification comes after salvation. Once you are saved, you begin to eradicate old behaviors, patterns, and atmospheres that no longer align with who you are.
When you become a child of God, you begin to lay down your old ways, and walk in the ways of righteousness. Ephesians 4:22–24 says, "Throw off your old sinful nature and your former way of life, which is corrupted by lust and deception. Instead, let the Spirit renew your thoughts and attitudes. Put on your new nature, created to be like God—truly righteous and holy" (NLT).
The value of the fire of God in your life is this: it smokes out sin in your life, it helps you discern, it gives you wisdom, and it keeps you on the path to everlasting life. The Bible says in Leviticus 6:13, "A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out" (NKJV). To keep a fire going, it requires wood or things that burn. The same is true for our spiritual walk. We have to constantly put things on the altar to burn to keep our spiritual life hot! (Photo via Unsplash)
A life surrendered to God means constantly checking your heart and laying down bad habits, sin, and negative thought patterns. The fire on your altar doesn't have to burn out, but it can always burn with passion for God just like the first time you encountered God.
This is so important in this time and season, because the Bible says that in the last days the love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12). Keep watch over your spiritual life in this season so that you don't become someone who grows cold in this time. Not only should we keep our spiritual walks healthy, but we should boldly proclaim the Gospel to others who haven't given their lives to Christ. Be bold in this season for God, and continue to pour into your spiritual life every day by reading the Word and listening to faith-filled preaching!
Don't Miss It
Word originally posted by Joe Joe Dawson on July 9, 2026:
In my time of prayer, and simply listening and talking with the Lord, He has been showing me how amazing, powerful, abundant, joyful, and full of increase this season is going to be for those who don't miss it. If you aren't running at full speed right now in your calling, you better start picking up the pace, because God is looking for those who are ready to go all in! Ecclesiastes 9:10 says, "Whatever you do, do well. For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom" (NLT).
That being said, now is the time to do something incredible with your life! God is pouring out in this season, and those who are ready to receive will grow and advance to a degree like never before!
A key point about this word is realizing the season we are in and taking advantage of it fully. The Bible says in Genesis 8:22, "While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease" (NKJV). This is crucial, because knowing the season you are in matters so much.
The word the Lord gave me was "Don't miss it," and I believe that this word is so timely for the season we are in, because we are seeing, more and more, that we are living in the last days. Your chance to impact the world for the Kingdom of God is right now!
While we are in this season, don't miss it! Do all that you can to get into the will of God for your life. If that means laying things down, lay them down. If that means sowing big seeds, sow big seeds. If that means changing your inner circle or finding new friends, then do it, because nothing is worth sacrificing the call of God on your life! God is looking for people right now who will go 100 percent full tilt and headfirst into what He is asking them to do. (Photo via Unsplash)
If God called you to it, then you will succeed! Proverbs 16:3 says, "Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established" (NKJV). If what you have done in the past didn't work, it is probably because you weren't functioning within the will of God for your life. When you get into alignment, what was hard is now made easy. When you are out of alignment, what should come naturally becomes hard, because you are operating outside of the will of God. When you are in the flow with God, you are in the Word everyday, hearing God everyday, and walking in your calling.
Imagine trying to canoe a river upstream or connect repelling sides of a magnet; that is how it feels to be out of alignment. But, when you get into alignment and into God's will for your life, then you will start to see increase in joy, peace, abundance, and every good thing!
Amos 3:3 says, "Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?" (NKJV). This Scripture brings the word "Don't miss it" to life, because when you are rightly aligned, you won't miss anything God has for you in this season.
Have confidence in what God is calling you to and take bold steps of faith towards it. We know that faith without works is dead, so create forward motion on the goals you want to see accomplished this year! Stay in the Word of God everyday, and meditate on the Word constantly. Renew your mind, review your goals, stay focused in this season, and watch what God will do in you, through you, and for you!
