Everything Is Blurry
"Once more Jesus put His hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly." (Mark 8:25 NIV)
Often, life feels out of focus. Our vision is blurry and distorted. We struggle to get clarity for where we're going. I've noticed this, especially in the past few years. Many things that used to feel so clear now seem hazy and difficult to define.
We long to do the Father's will. We just don't know what His will is. I often feel like the man who encountered Jesus in Mark 8.
Look at verses 23–24:
"Jesus asked, 'Do you see anything?'
"He looked up and said, 'I see people; they look like trees walking around.'" (NIV)
The man essentially told Jesus, "I'm not blind any longer. The color has returned. My sight is partially back, but everything is blurry. I see people, but they look like trees. I see things moving, but they're not clear. I can see vague outlines and shapes, yet everything is still hazy and fuzzy."
Maybe you can identify with this man. Things aren't as clear and sharp as you would like them to be. You have some sense of where He's leading you. You discern a change is coming. You have been feeling it for some time, but everything still seems foggy and distorted. (Photo via Unsplash)
It's like you're stuck between two stages: You're not where you once were, but you're not where you want to be. I have some good news for you: Jesus didn't leave the man in this condition.
"Once more Jesus put His hands on the man's eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything clearly." (Mark 8:25 NIV)
A Second Touch
The man got a second touch from Jesus, and his sight was completely restored. When his eyes were opened, the first face that he saw was the face of Jesus, full of tenderness, kindness, love, grace, and compassion.
I believe you're going to receive a fresh touch from Jesus. The LORD is going to bring a new clarity and sharpness of spiritual sight. You may be starting to experience it already. Where there has been fogginess, things will begin to come into focus. Where there has been a lack of direction, the Spirit is dispelling darkness and bringing definition.
He will impart fresh revelation for the next stage of your journey. Divine strategies and blueprints for the year ahead will be downloaded. The future is coming into focus. You will discern the direction you need to take and know what decisions you need to make.
Clarity Is Coming
For too long, everything has felt blurry, fuzzy, and distorted. There's been a fogginess and distraction hanging over you—almost like a nagging frustration or agitation that you can't seem to shake. You've been pulled in different directions. You've been busy but feel so unproductive and unfulfilled.
You've known that change is coming, but it's been so hard to see clearly. You've sensed the shift inside you, but around you everything looks the same. There's an expectancy. You know that something new is being birthed, but it feels like it's taking too long.
You've been battling discouragement. You've felt tired of the delay. You've been weary from waiting. You've just wanted to hear the Lord speak to you. You've been longing to step into the "next." You've felt ready for the "new." You've been ready for a long time.
Let me encourage you today: things are about to turn. Clarity is coming. Confusion is breaking.
You will begin to hear the Holy Spirit speak with increased sharpness and frequency. He will give you fresh vision for the future. He will show you the steps you need to take. You will understand the changes you need to make. The jumbled pieces will begin to fall into place. (Photo via Unsplash)
Come Into the Secret Place and Receive
It is vital that you spend uninterrupted time in the secret place. Give space for the Spirit to impart new ideas, directions, downloads, blueprints, and strategies.
Be intentional:
• Close the door.
• Put away your phone.
• Shut out all distractions.
• Get on your knees.
• Open your Bible.
• Ask Him questions.
• Have a pen and paper ready.
As you seek Him, you will hear His voice. You will discern the way ahead. You will receive fresh wisdom and insights. The path will become clear. Do whatever He tells you—no matter how insignificant it seems or if it doesn't make sense. Obedience will bring your breakthrough. Clarity is coming.
"His mother said to the servants, 'Do whatever He tells you.'" (John 2:5 NIV)
"He said to them, 'Come with Me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.'" (Mark 6:31 NIV)
"When He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come." (John 16:13 NIV)
