Lou Engle and Cheryl Amabile: Confronting Antisemitism

Lou Engle and Cheryl Amabile
Jan 27, 2026

Introduction from Cheryl Amabile:

Israel is often called God's timepiece. As we've entered 2026, the clock is ticking. The real battle, however, is over who sets the time and the agenda.

The prophet Daniel describes God as the Ancient of Days—the one who "changes times and seasons" (Daniel 2:21). Yet in Daniel 7:25, he also warns that the great beast, satan, seeks to change the times himself. This is the cosmic tug-of-war over the timeline of history leading up to the return of Christ—and we are in it.

Past Briefings #061, #095, #096, and #123 explore the rhema words the Lord has given us concerning the times of Israel—times and purposes that are still being contested. Today's Briefing brings us squarely into the present moment, where all hands are needed on deck. As you read, prayerfully consider joining us in person on February 19–21, 2026, for this year's 222 Prophetic Conference. We are deeply grateful for the role you play in The Briefing community of intercession.

Run to Ruth!

Just last month, the day after the horrific Bondi Beach massacre in Sydney, Australia, our dear Aussie friends Nate and Christy Johnston each had strikingly similar dreams. Though they currently live in California, Christy dreamed she was standing in Yankee Stadium, calling out to Lou Engle, "Run to Ruth!" That same night, Nate dreamed that Lou was speaking urgently about his need to "Run!"

It occurred to us that Yankee Stadium is known as "The House That Ruth Built," in honor of legendary home run hitter Babe Ruth. But prophetically, these dreams are about far more than baseball.

In the Bible, Ruth was a young Gentile widow who was grafted into the very lineage of Christ. God honored her because she honored Him by returning to Israel with her mother-in-law. Ruth vowed to Naomi, "Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God" (Ruth 1:16). In Israel, Ruth married Boaz and became the great-grandmother of King David.

The "Four Ruths' Call": Spiritual Aliyah

When Lou Engle and Chris Berglund were visiting Israel in 2007, Chris had a dream in which they received a phone call from Ruth. In the dream, there were actually four Ruths who contacted them: Ruth of the Bible, Ruth Prince (Derek Prince's wife), Ruth Graham (Billy Graham's wife), and Ruth Heflin (an anointed worship leader and minister in Israel). In a second dream that same night, Chris saw Lou Engle and Dutch Sheets releasing a global call for "Spiritual Aliyah." We understand these two dreams to be pointing to one unified reality: the "Four Ruths' Call" is a calling to Spiritual Aliyah.

In Hebrew, Aliyah literally means to "go up." In Scripture, it refers to the ascent to Jerusalem. In modern usage, Aliyah describes a Jewish person's return to live in the land of Israel. While Gentiles cannot make Aliyah in the natural, we can make Spiritual Aliyah—by returning in our hearts to the Jewish people and to God's covenant purposes for the land of Israel.

Over the years, we have carried this mandate in the womb of corporate prayer and proclamation. During the A Million Women gathering in Washington, D.C., hundreds of thousands of voices united in declaring the same vow Ruth made to Naomi. It seemed the purpose of the Four Ruths' phone call was being birthed. Now it is time to hasten this call to Spiritual Aliyah like never before—especially among the younger generation.

Last year, at Cindy Jacobs' annual prophetic gathering, she prophesied that God would use Lou to call Gen Z from around the world to love Israel. Meanwhile, we strongly sense that these dreams of activation are for all of us! Just as we have rallied for mass gatherings centered on Joel 2 intercession and Acts 2 outpourings for America (and our respective nations), it is time to unify our efforts on behalf of Israel.

The Harvest Is Ripe in Israel

Ruth arrived in Bethlehem just in time for the beginning of the barley harvest. Today, the harvest fields are ripe with souls. The estimated number of Jews worldwide who confess faith in Jesus has tripled in the past decade. Still, they are considered an unreached people group. The Lord is looking for laborers. At the same time, danger is at our doorstep.

Shifting the Global Rise of Antisemitism

The Anti-Defamation League reports that incidents of antisemitic assault, harassment, and vandalism in the United States alone have increased by more than 300% in the past five years. The global rise of antisemitism is unprecedented. We must contend for a dramatic spiritual and ideological shift across the earth, or the violence we witnessed on October 7, and on Bondi Beach, may soon come to a city near us.

New York City, home of Yankee Stadium, hosts the largest Jewish population in the world outside of Tel Aviv. Yet, they recently elected the city's first Muslim mayor, who was sworn in on the Quran. While our battle is not against flesh and blood, we must remain discerning. The spiritual powers behind Islamic jihad are actively seeking entry points into the nation. Equally concerning is the anti-Zionist rhetoric that has begun to creep into segments of the conservative movement. (Photo via Pexels)

Daryl Hedding, a nonprofit leader known for his work with the Shai Fund and the National Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, recently addressed these dangers in an interview with the Global Watch. Hedding explained how public figures such as Tucker Carlson have taken increasingly hostile positions toward Israel, promoting claims that are not only misguided but demonstrably false. These narratives inevitably spill over from Israel to Jews themselves, fueling broader antisemitism. Hedding emphasized that when Carlson chose to platform neo-Nazi Nick Fuentes, the situation escalated dramatically.

"What we've seen," Hedding explained, "is what people call a 'horseshoe effect,' where there are views on the far right and views on the far left that are finding common ground, and that common ground is Israel and the Jews." He noted that the situation is especially grave among young Christians who are listening to voices such as Nick Fuentes, Ian Carroll, Candace Owens, and Tucker Carlson. The TikTok generation is particularly susceptible to lies about genocide and other conspiracy theories that demonize Israel. We share Hedding's sober concerns, as well as his recognition, that ultimately, "God will have the final say."

We are living in the days of Joel 3, where the Lord has brought the captives of Judah and Jerusalem back into their covenant lands. In opposition to God and His purpose, much of the world is in an uproar. This is a time of global testing, when entire nations will be held accountable for how they relate to Israel. We must understand the Lord's covenant with His people and align ourselves rightly with the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.

This February 19–21, 2026, we invite you to gather with us in Colorado Springs for the 222 Prophetic Conference: Confronting Antisemitism. During this strategic convergence with Lou Engle, Chris Berglund, Jonathan Cahn, Lance Wallnau, and other leaders, we believe the Lord will encounter us with His purpose to confront false ideologies, to capture the hearts of this generation, and to mobilize His Ekklesia in alignment with His redemptive timeline in history.

We hope you will join us.
