"You Are the Apple of My Eye"
As we were approaching Father's Day, I was reminded of a tender message from our heavenly Father that I once received.
A few years ago, I sat down at my desk to do some writing, and I looked down to find a silver locket upon my notebook. It took me by surprise because I did not own a locket, nor had I ever seen it before.
I picked it up and opened it to see if there was a photo inside of it, but all I saw was a clear reflection of my own face upon the empty silver locket opening. The moment I saw my reflection, I heard my heavenly Father say, "You are the apple of My eye."
Once again, I was taken by surprise to hear His voice speaking so clearly and tenderly to me.
The Locket of His Heart

The day that I found the locket was on what would've been my mom's birthday, who had already gone to Heaven. It was also just a few days before my birthday, which we often celebrated together. There was deep healing in this mysterious gift found upon my desk.
If God had a locket, it would be like this one, and whoever opened it would see the reflection of their own face... because you, too, are the apple of His eye, and the most precious treasure of His heart.
You Are Deeply Loved by God
Sometimes we get so busy doing things for God that we forget how deeply loved we are by God. He is the one who created us and formed us in our mother's womb. He planned for us, desired us, and designed us to reflect His image.
He is the one who watches us both day and night, for He never slumbers or sleeps. He is the one who orders our steps when we think we've lost our way. He is the one who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one. He is the one who rescues us from unseen snares. And He is the one who gave His own Son to save us so that we could spend eternity with Him.
Just like a mother wears a locket with photos of her children next to her heart, so our heavenly Father carries us in His heart every moment of every day.
Today, He wants you to know that it is your reflection that takes His breath away. It is your eyes that He gazes into with agape love. It is your smile that brings joy to His heart and your life that He sent His only Son to die for.
YOU are the apple of His eye and the reflection found within His heart.
