God showed something to me in a dream about fear, anxiety, and intimidation. In early 2020, I was given a dream about overcoming the spirit of fear. Five years later, I am convinced that this dream was not only for 2020 but a gift to His Church for this age.
Where the War Is Won Against All Kinds of Fear and Intimidation
In my dream, I saw and felt the words "Prince of Peace" suspended like a banner over the air and in the sky, and I could feel the peace of Jesus tangibly. Below the banner, I saw a strange thing: a man knelt beneath the banner and removed his head from his body as if his head was a helmet. He held out his head so that it came directly under the "Prince of Peace" banner. There he was, bowed down in full submission, with his head in his hands separated from his body, directly under the Prince of Peace. He had removed his mind willfully and submitted it fully under the authority of the Prince of Peace. The alignment of his mind and opinions under Christ was a form of pure worship and a warfare strategy.
What I saw next was even more amazing. Below the man's feet was another dimension. There was a strange creature there. It resembled a demon-like animal with a horn on its head (horns in the Bible symbolize powers, either good or evil), and it had bowed its horn in full submission beneath the man who was surrendered beneath the Prince of Peace.
I believe this image in the dream reveals the order of kingdom government. The person whose mind is fully surrendered to the Prince of Peace overcomes the enemy by his position that he has chosen to stay in. His authority over the enemy is found in resting and remaining under the banner of Christ. His mind is guarded here and this is where the war is won against all kinds of fear and intimidation. Drought of Peace
The earth is feeling a drought of peace because there has been an attack on peace and soundness of mind. This epidemic of fear, accompanied by anxiety and depression, grieves the heart of God. But He has a remedy. "Peace" may sound like a soft weapon for war, but what we view as weak is often strong. "Prince of Peace" is one of the names describing Jesus' governmental rule.
"[T]he government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the greatness of His government and peace there will be no end." (Isaiah 9:6–7 NIV)
Peace is an unlikely weapon for war, but God is known for using weapons that appear to be weak. Jesus was first revealed to humanity as a vulnerable baby in a stable, and it seemed as if He died as a powerless man. Darkness could not understand God's "weak" war tactics and thought that killing Jesus would destroy God.
The weapons of darkness are so different to the ways of our King. Only light can discern God's intelligence, and we are the children of light.
It's Not About Human Power or Strength
Bravery and courage are not reserved for strong people. These are attributes of the Holy Spirit that He gives to people. You can be the most naturally fearful, timid person, but when you come under the powerful Prince of Peace, God will shift your life, your mindset, your courage, and your spirit.
He will make you thunderous like a lion. You will become the overcomer that you never dreamt you could ever be. This is not by your own might or power. It is only by the Holy Spirit.
There is only one way to live in courage, and it is certainly not through human strength or personality types. It's through surrendering our human ideas, thoughts, and opinions to align with the government of God. It is here that we find our strength.
In order to live the way Christ called us to live, we have to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. The good news is He gives His Holy Spirit to us as a gift (and without limit) as we surrender to Him without restrictions.
When you became born again, the Holy Spirit came to live inside you. He is not simply a gentle river but a volcanic fire. Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is not a trickling stream but a consuming fire. And He shares this with us, His beloved.
Can God take a young Gen Z boy who is filled with fear and anxiety and turn him into a warrior? Ask Gideon. Can God take a young forgotten girl and give her the courage to stand before intimidating grown men and save an entire nation? Ask Esther.
God is raising up "Gideons" and "Esthers" in the Gen Z generation. But can He raise older men who have failed and given up? Ask Samson.
He is pouring out His Spirit on all people—young and old, male and female.
Dismantling Foreign Thrones and Learning from History
There is a discipline required to surrender our own opinions and emotions to Christ. They may feel like they are part of us, but if they fight against God's Word, they are simply seductive spirits attempting to steal from us.
During COVID-19, there was a decision we had to make. We could either listen to the news and submit ourselves to the opinions of the voices that were prominent and popular, or we could change the channel of our hearts and surrender to the news of God.
We're never supposed to live in confusion. One of the things we can learn during confusing times is this: When we don't know an answer to a question, and there is confusion in the air, instead of seeking men's answers, we can simply ask God.
Jeremiah 33:3 (NIV) tells us, "Call to Me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know." There are things that no one knows but God, and He wants to show us His answers. As we seek Him, we will find Him in every situation and quandary of life. God is so faithful that He will show you things that others may not know. If He doesn't show you, He will show you how to posture your heart.
Sometimes it's okay to not know the answers and wait for His Word before needing to grab something out of the airwaves of "chatterings." If you will take Him at His word and not your friend's opinion, you will find His path, and you will live a life of peace when the world is in turmoil. God will be able to raise you up so that you can speak peace to the storm like Jesus, who was submitted to His Father. He slept in peace while turmoil was around Him in the storm, and He was able to take authority over the storm, because the storm did not master Him. (Photo via Picryl)
Vacant Thrones and Rising "Josephs"
It's very simple: Submit yourself to God first—to His news, His Word—and His power will come upon you to give you supernatural courage, fearlessness, and holy thunder to live in love, peace, and authority on the earth, and to mature you to lead in a season where there will be many vacant places for leaders to fill in all sorts of places in the world. For this is a season where the "Josephs" are being raised up in every realm of government.
The Lord is taking His faithful that have silently served, and He is bringing peaceful, powerful leaders into every realm of society to heal what is broken, and to bring in a great revival harvest.
God is raising up His Ekklesia into a new level of maturity to mother and father nations, and in order to function in this authority of Jesus. We have to live from a place of solid peace and not be given to the airwaves of deception that the enemy uses, but be carefully submitted to the airwaves of Christ. It is only through the Word of God, the Holy Spirit, and the authority of Christ that we will discern how to lead in His Kingdom.
King Solomon's reign was marked by a season of peace that stretched as far as his kingdom rule. Under Solomon's reign, huge advancements for humanity were made: the temple was built, and the arts and sciences progressed. It was during Solomon's reign of peace that the people were able to plant and to build. "During Solomon's lifetime Judah and Israel, from Dan to Beersheba, lived in safety, everyone under their own vine and under their own fig tree" (1 Kings 4:25 NIV).
Similarly, in the early Church, after a season of great persecution, a time of peace followed which yielded increase: "Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers" (Acts 9:31 NIV).
Times of peace bring opportunity to strengthen what God is building and bring rapid increase.
The Kingdom of God is advancing no matter the state of the earth, and when we surrender our minds to His Spirit of peace, we can rule and reign in any season, even while storms rage.
