The Prayers of the Righteous Are Powerful & Effective

After the prayer alert I'm sure many of you are wondering what my thoughts are about nominee John Roberts. First of all, I want to thank you for praying with us, and ask you to continue to do so.

I am optimistic about the nomination of Judge Roberts. I am also convinced that there were other finalists we would not have been pleased with. We had very credible information, as late as Tuesday morning, which assured us the decision was final -- and it was not Roberts. Was this just to throw people -- the media, etc. -- off? I don't think so. I believe the President was still struggling with his decision, as anyone can understand. And no one I have heard, including White House spokespeople, believe the decision was made before Sunday night at the earliest. I am sharing this to let you know how much difference I believe all of our prayers made. We did our part to pray off of President Bush any wrong counsel he may have been receiving, and I believe our prayers helped him decide upon a good choice.

When I and some friends "toured" the White House Saturday to pray, we felt that it was very likely the most effective prayer time we've ever had there. Add to that the prayers of thousands of intercessors (I always feel that we are simply the point of a spear when we do this, and that the real strength is from the thousands behind us) and I am convinced that those prayers made the difference.
 

"I Am Optimistic About Roberts"

I am optimistic about Roberts for several reasons, which include the following: he is a strict constitutionalist who won't legislate from the Bench, many of my conservative and pro-life friends are optimistic, the liberals are irate and terrified, and he received a glowing endorsement on a conference call I was a participant in last night (Tuesday, July 19) from Jay Sekulow. Sekulow said he has known Roberts since 1990, has tried cases alongside of him, and called him an outstanding choice. I trust Jay Sekulow's endorsement as much as anyone I can think of.

By all accounts, this was a bold and uncompromising choice by our President, and also faithful to his promise. Once again we should be grateful he is our president. We must continue to pray. I believe the confirmation process will get ugly and I also feel there are more changes coming to the Court. Never have the liberal and anti-God / anti-moral forces in America been this desperate. They see their hold slipping.

"There Are More Changes Coming to The Supreme Court -- We Must Engage in Ongoing Prayer"

The tendency of the Church in the past is to gain a victory and relax. We must not do this again. We must pray this candidate through to confirmation, and -- please listen to me -- there are more changes coming to the Supreme Court. We must do something we haven't done before -- fill the bowls of intercession in advance for the next choice (see Revelation 8:3-5). There are still many who believe the next appointment could be a moderate. This must not happen!

We must also engage in ongoing prayer to ensure that the same thing doesn't happen to Roberts as happened with Sauter and Kennedy. Believed to be conservative appointments, they quickly moved left. No one can be certain why this happened, but it is entirely possible that they came under the influence of spiritual forces they simply had no ability to withstand. Pray for Roberts!
