Holy Contentions in a Dream
On December 25, 2024, I woke up from a dream that felt weighty and sober. In the dream, I was asked to do a deliverance for a woman who was lying on a bed. This woman was filled with legions of demons that were so wicked and had such power that other believers had found it very difficult to deal with the demons and cast them out.
As I stood over her bed, I challenged and commanded the demons to leave her. But as I started to pray, I saw many ungodly and evil things she had welcomed into her heart that she needed to repent of to be completely free. I stopped praying and got ready to start telling her to repent of what I saw in her soul. Then I woke up.
As I woke up, it was as if I could hear the voice of Jesus in the background, saying, "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest, and finds none. Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it empty, swept, and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first" (Matthew 12:43–45 NKJV).
I woke up with these words in my heart: "2025—a year of deliverance and holy contentions." Below are the revelations I felt led to share for these situations.
Contentions in Ministry: We Have Been Given Authority
The anointing for deliverance to set the captives free has been released by Jesus to us, as He said in Luke 10:19 (NKJV): ''Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you." This is a season to arise in faith and take authority and dominion over demonic influence as needed, even in unexpected ministry situations.
One of these unexpected situations happened last year in London, where I was shopping. As is my practice, I started to chat in a friendly manner with those in the shop, and then shared the Gospel with a person who became saved. However, someone in the shop suddenly became filled with demonic rage and took out a sword and started coming toward me, stopped to raise the sword, swiped it in the air, and made a loud incantation, addressing satan to remove me from the earth.
Everyone froze as such unexpected venom was released. I responded by commanding, in the name of Jesus, for the incantation to be nullified. I commanded the demons in possession of the man to be bound and to loose him. Immediately, the power of God came on the man and he fell to his knees, unable to harm me, as he raised up his hands to Heaven in surrender.
The Lord then whispered in my heart, "At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in Heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth" (Philippians 2:10 NKJV).
While there will be joy and fruitfulness in ministry that is birthed from God's heart, there will also be sudden or unexpected situations where the demonic will have to be dealt with. But fear not; you will be victorious as you rise boldly in the name of Jesus. (Photo via Pixabay)
Repent of Mixture
I also have a word for ministries that have suffered immense setbacks and delays. In times past, you have contended in prayer for your breakthrough. The ceiling of limitations will suddenly be removed, because your prayers have reached breakthrough level. The favor of the Lord will be the result of the contending of your faith.
For the Body of Christ at large, my dream represented some in the Church who have allowed a mixture of false beliefs and even beliefs in certain occult practices—such as horoscopes, yoga, and demonic ancestral worship—to be mixed with their Christian faith.
In my dream, when I started the process of casting out the demons from the woman, I had to pause, as I saw mixture in the soul that had not been repented of. The Lord is saying that this is the season to allow the refiner's fire to burn out of us ungodly roots, mixture, and beliefs that we have allowed in.
The present season of exposure of serious, sinful situations in certain ministries, I believe, is due in part to heart attitudes and immoral roots that were never dealt with and a lack of fear of the Lord. The Lord would rather have a timely repentance from the heart rather than an ongoing rebellion which would lead to exposure. He is desirous to clean His Church.
Have Clean Altars and a Pure Heart
In my school of deliverance, I teach on the necessity of not only avoiding mixture of sin but also filling our hearts with God's presence and His life-saving Word—especially for those who have been delivered. This is important because the enemy comes back looking for empty spaces in the heart so he can inhabit them again. This, I believe, was the situation of the woman in my dream—a heart full of ungodly mixture, devoid of the presence of the Lord and His Word.
I hear this admonishment from the Lord this year, to have clean altars and a pure heart. Beware of mixture; this is the wisdom of the Lord in this season. Mixture take place when the profane exists side by side with the Lord, who is in our hearts.
Contentions in Government: Pray and Release Wisdom from Heaven
Certain political situations will arise that will need God's divine intervention. We are called to contend using bold prayers to remove veils of confusion from our government and nations that could cause wrong, unjust, or immoral situations to arise. Release the wisdom from above into the hearts of governing authorities that is pure, peaceable, gentle, accommodating, and full of good fruits (read the full list in James 3:17).
There is a call for Believers who will arise in the might and boldness of Elijah to release prophetic decrees to pull down ordinances erected on the altars of our nation so that rulers of nations can rule with righteous judgment, especially in times of conflicts.
Contentions in the Air and Prayer
In my original Facebook post of this dream on December 31, 2024, I mentioned the need to pray for angels to protect our air vehicles and to speak into atmospheres as we travel this year. Air vehicles are inclusive—all modes of air travel, including planes and helicopters. I do believe that the recent reports of plane accidents have been, in part, caused by demonic interference in the airwaves. I had seen and encountered this in the past, and so I feel that this is credible. (Photo via PickPik)
Early one morning in 2009, I woke up briefly from seeing a vision in a dream of a demonic power of the air that looked enraged, as if it was about to do great damage. (Ephesians 6:12 talks about not warring against flesh and blood but against all manner of demonic entities, especially spiritual wickedness in the high places.) I woke up later that one morning in 2009 to hear that an Air France plane had crashed. I noticed that the crash happened around the time I saw the fleeting vision of the enraged power of darkness. A thought came to me, "I saw the power of darkness that caused the crash." At that time, the crash was believed to have been caused by a series of events in a routine flight that caused the pilots to lose control.
Since then, the Lord has taught me the necessity of involving angelic activity whenever I sense an impending, demonic turbulence when traveling. This knowledge provided protection as I traveled, and it also helped others as I taught these principles in my school of ministry.
For example, years ago, as I traveled on a plane to Asia, the Lord told me to start praying and taking authority. The pilot said with an ominous voice, repeatedly, that we were entering a place of severe turbulence. Plates and dishes started shaking, with waters spilling over, and I could see fear on many faces. I started to pray quietly and rebuked the presence of the power of the air that I sensed was present. I prayed for a release of angelic assistance to encamp around the plane and fight and defeat demonic interference. Almost as soon as the turbulence started, it stopped, with the voice of the pilot saying in awed surprise, "It suddenly stopped!" He had expected it to go for longer. The prayers had stopped the demonic interference around the plane.
There have been several such instances, including a near plane crash I experienced, where praying in the name of Jesus stopped the incident.
I encourage you to build your faith in the name of Jesus, include angelic covering and assistance in all your travels, and live a lifestyle of praise that binds the kings with fetters (Psalm 149:6–9), which will keep you safe, regardless of the dangers that might unexpectedly contend with you. Declare as you travel that the atmosphere of Heaven surrounds your air vehicle and that the safety of the secret place of Psalm 91 belongs to you.
I believe this to be a great year as we walk in purity, love, and power so that even in times of contention, we will be continuously victorious!
