Hank and Brenda Kunneman: A No-Fly Zone

 

As Passover is here once again, let this powerful story be a reminder of God's delivering hand! We must see it as a prophetic narrative for where we are today. The Lord detailed these events to remind us that he is our defense and deliverer!

This Is the Finger of God

As you recall, there was a moment when Moses demanded that Pharaoh let God's people go, but Pharaoh refused. As a result, God began to inflict various plagues upon Egypt. It began with the waters turning into blood. Then came the frogs. In both cases, the magicians of Pharaoh were able to mimic these plagues through their sorcery. For a moment, it seemed that the Lord's hand was being matched by the work of the enemy.

That is how it sometimes seems with the things we face in life. It can feel as if every time you experience a breakthrough the enemy is there to counter the blessing with a new challenge.

The third plague against Egypt was the plague of lice, but this time, a notable shift took place. This time the magicians were unable to emulate the plague. They were so astonished that they proclaimed to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God!" (Exodus 8:18 NLT). But still Pharaoh dug in his heels with determination to not free the people.

Just because it may seem at times that the enemy is unrelenting and the battle is fierce, these are not indications that God is not at work!

A No-Fly Zone

Then the Lord sent the fourth plague, which was the swarm of flies. Suddenly the moment came when the children of Israel realized that their lives were a no-fly zone!

"And I will sever in that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there; to the end thou mayest know that I am the Lord in the midst of the earth. And I will put a division between my people and thy people: to morrow shall this sign be." (Exodus 8:22–23 KJV) (Photo via Picryl)

The flies were confined to the Egyptians and could not enter the land of Goshen, where Israel lived, because their homes were sectioned off by God as a no-fly zone!

Separated for Blessing and Freed from the Enemy's Strongholds

Let this Passover be a reminder that even though some things may seem as if the enemy has the upper hand, the finger of God will bring about a divine shift and will cause your life to be protected from the enemy.

The Passover story lets us see that our lives as God's children—who live under Abraham's blessing—are set apart from the world. We live in a no-fly zone!

The moment of Israel's deliverance came the night they put the blood of lambs on their doors. They had been bound for a very long time, but suddenly they were delivered!

It does not matter how long you may have felt bound or held back by the devil; the enemy is defeated! For Israel, it must have felt as though they would never be free. Do not allow that thinking to arise in your heart. When the finger of God separates you, nothing can prevent you from being free!

This Passover, remember that YOU have been separated for blessing and freed from the enemy's strongholds because of the blood of Jesus!
