An Extraordinary, Supernatural Encounter
"The LORD will keep you from all harm—He will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore." (Psalm 121:7–8)
Recently, our family had an extraordinary, supernatural encounter within our home. One particular night, my wife and I both sensed a heavy spiritual atmosphere in the house, which resulted in several prophetic dreams and a prophetic encounter.
I was awakened in the middle of the night by the sound of footsteps in the upstairs hallway just outside our bedroom door. My first thought was that it might have been one of my children either preparing to come into our bedroom or going to use the bathroom. However, the footsteps sounded heavier than those of a little child. Also, I discerned that there were two people walking and not one.
Could it be burglars?
I knew my security alarm had not sounded off, but I wondered if perhaps I had forgotten to set it for the night.
I tried to jump out of bed, but I was caught in that half-wake, half-sleep state. I'm sure many of you have experienced that state, where you're on the verge of waking but your motor functions and cognition haven't fully returned from REM sleep. I tried to will myself to get up quickly, but I couldn't.
The Holy Spirit whispered to me, "Relax!"

As I relaxed upon my bed, God opened my spiritual ears even more, and I heard one angel walk over to the other and say, "It's been a long time since I've seen you. I received this assignment to protect this family, and I just finished checking on the girls in the bedroom."
I wasn't allowed to hear the rest of their conversation, but I knew the angels were assigned to watch over our family that night. They spoke with youthful and joyful tones. I noted how they enjoyed serving and working for the Lord.
I sincerely desired to jump out of bed and run into the hallway to either see or greet the angels with thanks, but God did not allow me to move. Seeing or thanking the angels wasn't as important to God as it was for me to know that the Lord had sent a supernatural order of protection for our family.
Blue Bullets, Jesus, and the Force Field
The next morning, my wife and I began to recount our dreams from the night. After sharing our prophetic dreams with one another, I shared the angelic encounter that God had allowed me to experience. We decided to investigate further into why God had sent those angels and why He had allowed me to be aware of their presence. We asked our children if they had experienced anything unusual that night.
When we inquired about their night, two of our children had what we would call prophetic dreams. One of those dreams stood out to us with great significance. Our oldest daughter, who is very discerning, shared that she had an intense and very real dream in which an evil force tried to attack our family, specifically her. This evil force (or being) tried to shoot some type of blue bullets at her, but suddenly Jesus appeared and erected a "force field" around her. She said that Jesus left, but the force field remained to protect her.
I shared with her how God had allowed me to discern and hear the two angels assigned to protect her and our family. I also told her how one angel said to the other, "I just finished checking on the girls, and they are safe!"
My son interrupted and said, "But what about me? Did the angels check on me too?"
He seemed less moved by the angels being in the house and more concerned about whether they had checked on him and not just his sisters. We all burst out laughing.

God's Defense System
This recent experience has given me more confidence than ever that God not only watches over my family but also over many Believers' families. I also believe the mercy and grace of God causes Him to watch over many unbelievers unbeknownst to them. The enemy is always active in the spirit realm, seeking to sow discord, sickness, fear, bewitchment, and misery.
"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." (1 Peter 5:8)
God's defense system, which consists of the Holy Spirit, warrior angels, and guardian angels, is always active, protecting and defending the saints.
There are several Scriptures that point us to these biblical truths:
• The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear the Lord.
"The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them." (Psalm 34:7)
• God doesn't sleep on the job.
"Behold, He that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep." (Psalm 121:4)
• Even little children have guardian angels assigned to them.
"Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, that in Heaven their angels do always behold the face of My Father which is in Heaven." (Matthew 18:10)
Let's pray: Lord God, we pray for a fresh release of angelic forces equipped to defend and protect Your people against the workers of iniquity and invisible forces of darkness. May You allow Your Holy Spirit to be a wall of fire around Your people, and may Your angels set up an encampment around Your children. Lord, we thank You for issuing this supernatural order of protection from Heaven on our behalf. In King Jesus' name, amen.
