"Returning to the Source and Reversing the Lost Power of the Church" (A Prayer Journey to Moscow, Istanbul, Rome and Jerusalem)

Dear Standing Saints:

I recently attended John and Paula Sanford's 30th anniversary gathering. These saints paved the way for many of us to understand our identity. I remember reading The Elijah Task in 1978 and saying, "Thank you, Lord! This explains a little better who I am."

This is a year for things to come full circle. I believe this 30th anniversary signified a launching of God's prophets and healers into the next dimension. We left on Pentecost Sunday (June 12) for our Eagles of God trip to Moscow, Istanbul, Rome, and Jerusalem: Returning to the Source and Reversing the Lost Power of the Church (see details below). As the team of ten journeyed, we were declaring that the power of Pentecost come upon you -- bringing increase in REVELATION, PROVISION, and HARVEST THINKING.


THE WIND OF HEAVEN IS BLOWING! (A Prophetic Word for You)

Get Ready For The Vexation Of Your Spirit To Lift And Revival To Occur!

I preached a message, recently, titled "Do You Want to Be Made Whole?" We are entering into a time of revival of the spirit. The spirit of man is the innermost part of a person where the Holy Spirit resides. The spirit of man sings and blesses God.

Ask the Lord to release your spirit from any vexation so you can bless the Lord. Let your spirit bless God. Get past your wounds and confinements and let your spirit bless God. Let Him touch you in a way He has never touched you before. Tell the Lord you are willing, that you want wholeness, and that you want Him to transform your blood and remove any impurities from your life.

The Lord is speaking the following:

"If you have come with one arm withered, stretch both arms up and let Me stretch you in a new way. Feel Me chipping away at that thing which has been holding you and let Me shift you. Feel yourself rising even in the midst of warfare. The warfare around you is ending. I AM getting you past your conflicts and releasing a new grace for you to win the war.

"Even though you hear the sound of war, you hear My sound more clearly. Come up, come up, come up, and stand before Me. I AM the Father of your spirit. I want you to understand your full adoption. I have paid for your spirit to be free. I want you to experience your full inheritance.

"Feel the penetration of My Spirit through your spirit -- transforming your soul and changing your body. Enter into a new place of communion. Hear the sounds of heaven as you commune. Don't commune the same common way, but allow your spirit to be filled with Holy Spirit.

"Submit to the 'Father of spirits.' See things from a different perspective. Communion is a function of the spirit. Let Me infuse you with thoughts from heaven that will affect earth -- creative thoughts that will reorder structures and systems around you.

"I AM removing soul ties that have you bound to an earthy realm and in places you do not belong. You will now see where your spirit aligns and fits. Thank Holy Spirit for raising you up above the earth realm. You have been looking up at the sky and you've been thinking that the sky is going to fall on you. I'm pulling you up beyond what you thought could fall on you.

"Look at your right foot. Where it has been held by chains, I AM pulling it out of the pit. Lift it and step forward. Look at your left foot. Where it has been held by the shackles of sin -- the mud grip is releasing. Lift it and step forward. Raise your right hand and raise your left hand because extension is coming to your body today.

"I AM taking you up. A new wind is blowing that is causing you to rise. I AM accelerating your release from your enemies. The earth is crying out for My glory and right now the heavens are bringing you to a new height of victory. Holy Spirit has released you to ascend."


LET OLD CYCLES BREAK!

This FirstFruits gathering this month was one of our most important of the year. This is the month to decree that old cycles break! We addressed deadly cycles that seem to control our lives and remove our freedom. A cycle is an interval during which a recurring sequence of events happens.

A cycle can also be a periodically repeated sequence of events . . .? something that happens over and over at a certain time. Sometimes this is impregnated with supernatural phenomena. A cycle can be linked with time or event and orchestrated supernaturally so a repeating wound or injustice occurs from generation to generation. Satan loves to keep us going around the same mountain. But God!

Romans 8:1-4 (LB) says:

"So there is now no condemnation awaiting those who belong to Christ Jesus. For the power of the life-giving Spirit -- and this power is mine through Christ Jesus -- has freed me from the vicious circle of sin and death. We aren't saved from sin's grasp by knowing the commandments of God, because we can't and don't keep them, but God put into effect a different plan to save us. He sent his own Son in a human body like ours -- except that ours are sinful -- and destroyed sin's control over us by giving himself as a sacrifice for our sins. So now we can obey God's laws if we follow after the Holy Spirit and no longer obey the old evil nature within us."

God has a remedy for iniquity. By embracing the blood and redemptive sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ we can break out of any old pattern. Ecclesiastes 4:12 says, "And a three fold cord is not quickly broken." Of course, this was written in the concept of the unity of the Trinity. However, this Scripture allows us to understand the principle that a triple, braided cord is very difficult to break.

You can also imagine if three demonic strongholds align with each other. The three demonic strongholds we have to deal with most of the time in our lives are poverty, infirmity, and religion. I am decreeing that each braided cord in your life, family, church, city, and state that is choking out God's best will begin to unravel. Move from POVERTY to INCREASE. Shift from INFIRMITY to HEALING. Leave RELIGION and move into THE NEW THING.

Returning to the Source and Reversing the Lost Power of the Church

Another three-fold cord of great importance has to do with the history of the Church. Your gifts and prayer support have spread around the world over the last couple of months and were now used to declare a change in Church History as we went to MOSCOW, CONSTANTINOPLE (Istanbul), ROME, and JERUSALEM for a prayer journey called Returning to the Source and Reversing the Lost Power of the Church.


The Purpose of the Trip

In AD 325, the Emperor Constantine gave the church "an offer it couldn't refuse!" As a result, the church compromised with paganism and lost touch with its biblical roots. The resulting paganized Christianity was marked by the worship of images, icons, shrines, prayer to Mary and the Saints, pagan rituals, ceremonies, holidays, a pagan view of God, etc. The church was plunged into a thousand years of ignorance and superstition, known as the dark ages.

Beginning with the protestant reformation, God has graciously worked to restore to the church much that it had lost, but the restoration is not yet complete. We believe God is bringing His church into a time of full restoration, when the apostolic church will be restored to its original purity and power, bringing about a great last-days harvest.


Branches of the Church

In the years since Constantine, the Church has split into several major branches. In this journey we will focus on three primary branches of the church that are highly significant theologically, politically, and prophetically.

The first is the Roman Catholic Church. Rome is called the "Eternal City." Rome brought about the destruction of Jerusalem, the persecution of the early Church and -- through Constantine -- the death of the early Church, cutting the Church off from its biblical foundation and plunging the Church into a millennium of darkness.

The second is the Orthodox Church, represented by Constantinople (now Istanbul), which called itself "The Second Rome." The Orthodox Church continued to build on the paganized foundation of Rome, adding the worship of icons and, in its worship, "restoring the temple veil" between God and the people. The Orthodox Church has been much more resistant to movements of renewal, restoration, and reformation than the Roman church.

The third is the Russian Orthodox Church, represented by Moscow, which calls itself "The Third Rome." The Russian Orthodox Church continued to build on the paganized foundation of the first two "Romes," but replaced the "Greek" mindset of the Roman and Greek churches with a barbarian worldview of the Kievan Rus. This laid a foundation of harsh oppression which resulted in the Bolshevik revolution and the rise of communism. The present Russian state has repeatedly stated its goal of once again rising as the "Third Rome."

While we, in America, are primarily concerned with the Roman church, (and its reformed offspring, the Protestant church) we are also part of the greater church worldwide, and must intercede for the restoration of the church in all of its branches.

Thank you for praying for us as we declared a reversal of lost power over you! MAY THE LORD RESTORE ALL! I am decreeing that every vicious circle the enemy has you in will break and that wasted time will be reversed. We will send along more reports through The Elijah List during the next couple of weeks. I appreciate each of you. I could not accomplish the will of the Lord for my life without you.
