I am always inspired by the many testimonies and stories we receive from the Show Mercy Team in Uganda. I'd like to share this one testimony from Florence as an encouragement. Her story is a reminder to believe. Who doesn't need a reminder to stand and believe the promises of God?
I love this verse in Mark 11:23:
"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says." – Mark 11:23 (NKJV)

There was a great need in this community. The village's water source was over an hour walk from the village center. Children would return home from school around 6 p.m. and then have to turn around with their jerry cans to go and fetch water. It made the nights really long and tiring. There was a lot of concern among the families since they knew it was dangerous for girls and women to travel at night. There were countless stories of abuse and rapes occurring.
The village leader introduced us to Florence, an elder in the community who generously offered to donate a portion of her land for a new water well. Florence is passionate about the Lord and prayed for water every day.
Her property is located in the center of the village, so it seemed perfect. That is, until the surveyors completed their tests. They decided that her land was not the best location for a well, so they moved on.
When Florence watched them leave, she yelled, "NO! Water will be in this place!"
She was listening to a pastor on the radio, and as he was sharing, he stated, "If the enemy has taken something from you, it is time to reclaim it."
So she walked out to where she thought the well should be and bent down to collect dirt. She rose up, raised her hands to Heaven, and boldly announced, "That well is going to be put in this place."
After failing to find another spot to drill the well, the surveyors were persuaded to return to Florence's land again. When they analyzed and studied the area again, they were surprised to discover water.
It was an answer to a prayer and to a prophecy. Because she believed and took action, a water well is now in her village.
She's not worried about her girls, who had to walk an hour away before to get water. So, it's a blessing.
Precisely at that spot where Florence proclaimed water, lives have been transformed. People have given their lives to Christ because of this testimony.
It's not just a well, it's a testament to the power of faith. And this particular water well is LIVING WATER, bringing spiritual nourishment to the community.

I encourage you to step out like Florence. Stake your claim. Hold up your "dirt" to the Heavens, pray and declare, like Florence, AND reclaim what is yours, in Jesus Name!
