I want to bring an encouraging word to you today. There are so many changes that are taking place in our world today, and actually it is making an impact on everybody. I am so thankful, as Believers in Christ, that we have assurance and stability through the Word.
There are days when I just want to stay in bed and watch movies all day, or just read a good book. I have realized that when we are not free in our mind, we are not free in our thinking. When we are not free in our thinking, how can we be free in anything else?
In Proverbs 23:7 it says that as a man "thinketh in his heart, so is he." When our mind is renewed, we become transformed. We can think clearly. We can carry on our daily lives with certainty. (Photo via Unsplash)
We can no longer delay renewing our minds, especially in this season.
A Season of Transformation
We are in a season where God is focusing on transformation. From the old to the new. From being a plowman to reaper. From a pew sitter to being a Kingdom enforcer. It is time to take our information and revelation and shift into manifestation. We have to be willing to no longer be a spectator but be a participator.
Now think about all the years you have studied to show yourself approved (2 Timothy 2:15). Yet the enemy keeps telling you the same old lies: The Body of Christ doesn't need you. You're not good enough. You're not knowledgeable enough. Just think of all the years the enemy has stolen from you. Then ask yourself this question: Are you going to stay the way you are, or are you willing to be transformed in this new season?
Apostle Paul tells us not to be conformed to this world but be transformed by renewing your mind (Romans 12:2).
Change in the Month of Elul
We are in the month of "ELUL," according to the Hebrew calendar. Elul is the sixth month in the Hebrew calendar and the last month of the Jewish yearly cycle, which occurs in August and September. I bring this up only to highlight that Elul is the last month in the Jewish yearly cycle, before Rosh Hashanah (the Jewish new year).
As we look at this season from a Jewish perspective, it is a reflection on the previous year and looking forward to a new year. For us, stepping into the month of September can be the month of a fresh start. Most people wait until the first of the year, being January. But for you and me, September could be our month to start.
This is interesting because as we are shifting and being transformed, we let the old go and embrace the new. New doors are opening and old doors are closing. New chapters are being written; old chapters are being closed.
September brings us a new year. But it's not the new year that should cause us to change.
So many people promise to make huge changes in their lives on January first of every year, only to break those promises the following weeks or months. We mean well, but our flesh just can't handle the change. This is why Apostle Paul told us about transforming our minds. (Photo via Pexels)
A Sound and Renewed Mind
There are some things that we cannot bring into a new season. A sound mind is the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God (Romans 12:2).
So today, be encouraged and be transformed by the renewing of your mind. There is nothing more powerful than a renewed mind.
Let me close with this. Every computer has a default button that is built within them. We can hit the default button anytime we mess up, but to make that change, we must go to the default button. When a person wants to change, they must go to their default button. We must renew our minds.
We all are purposed for destiny, but we all make mistakes. The Lord knew we would mess up and make mistakes, so He gave us His Word through Apostle Paul. Renew your mind!
