Bonnie Jones: "Herald the Sound! Follow the Star!"

Bonnie Jones, Fort Mill, SC
May 22, 2024

Recently I had a dream where I was in the upper room, like on the Day of Pentecost. I was the only woman surrounded by many apostles. Suddenly I heard, "Herald the Sound! Follow the Star!" Quickly everyone gathered near the open window to witness the brightness of the full moon. And just outside the window on the street below stood a flock of camels. I knew the camels were ready to ride, so I turned to the men and posed this question: "What if God chose a woman this time?" Immediately I was standing beside the camels and looking up at the brightness of the moon.

Herald the Sound!

I believe that this is a message to the Church, to the Bride of Christ, and it is time for her to begin heralding the Good News! I believe the Lord is giving clear instructions for His beloved to follow. She must begin by "Heralding the Sound!" What does it mean and what does it look like? God gave His children a voice to make heard and a mouth to trumpet that sound. Each born-again Believer has a testimony to share, and Jesus commanded all Believers to go into all the world and preach the gospel.

"And He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.'" (Mark 16:15–18)

There are no exceptions, nor is it limited to the five-fold ministry. To herald the sound is to speak what God speaks by His Holy Spirit through the love of Christ. It is not adding our own opinion. It's speaking His truth in love with Kingdom authority. There's no room for compromise or cowering. The Bride must pray for boldness like Peter did in Acts 4. Boldness is key in this move of God.

"And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness." (Acts 4:31)

The Body of Believers must become the mouthpiece or trumpet to the world by sounding the alarm of the gospel of the Good News. Isaiah 52:7 says, "How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, who proclaims peace..." Jesus is the Prince of Peace, and you get to bring the glad tidings of the good things He has done for you. He endured the Cross for all mankind, yet many don't know it and still sit in darkness. It's each Believer's duty to share their born-again experience with the lost. Therefore, you must proclaim the day of salvation! (Photo via Unsplash)

Follow the Star!

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the wise men from the East followed His star to Jerusalem in search of the Christ (Matthew 2:1–2). Discerning Herod's evil intentions, "they departed; and behold, the star which they had seen in the East went before them, till it came and stood over where the young Child was" (Matthew 2:9).

Jesus is that Star, and we need to be following His light. After all, He is "the Light of the world" (John 8:12), and those who follow Him cannot sit in darkness. Why? Because they've become "children of light" (Ephesians 5:8).

In Revelation 22:16 Jesus proclaims that He is "the Bright and Morning Star." And it's His glory that rests upon the Bride of Christ (Isaiah 60:1) as she arises to her call and lets His light shine forth from her in obedience to His Word.

"Arise, shine; for your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you." (Isaiah 60:1)

The Camels Are Ready!

Abraham sent his closest household servant Eliezer on a journey to his family to choose a wife for his son Isaac. Eliezer loaded ten camels, bearing only the finest gifts for Isaac's intended bride.

This tender love story unfolds as the camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water at evening time, when women go out to draw water (Genesis 24:11). It is at the well where Rebekah meets Eliezer. She draws water for him as well as his ten camels, then invites Eliezer to her father's tent where he discloses his master's intention for his son.

Eliezer represents the Holy Spirit, who at the time of our conversion readily bestows gifts to the Lord's intended Bride. In the same way, Rebekah represents the Bride of Christ. Immediately her life was changed, and nothing could persuade her to stay in her old lifestyle. She realized the urgency to meet and marry Isaac, the son of the promise. And the Bride of Christ's whole desire is to be with her Beloved.

A camel was chosen for Isaac's bride to travel on. Camels represent endurance; they can travel long distances without needing rest or water. As the Bride of Christ advances on the road less traveled, she endures difficulties yet always trusts Holy Spirit to guide her. Eliezer's camel was trusted with precious cargo, Isaac's bride.

The Bridegroom Is Looking for His Bride

Knowing that the camels are ready means the Lord is looking for His Bride.

"And Isaac went out to meditate in the field in the evening; and he lifted his eyes and looked, and there, the camels were coming. Then Rebekah lifted her eyes, and when she saw Isaac she dismounted from her camel; for she had said to the servant, 'Who is this man walking in the field to meet us?'..." (Genesis 24:63–65)

The camels are ready! They are ready to bring forth the Bride to the Bridegroom. Holy Spirit has wooed her with gifts and power and glory, and now it's time to bring her into holy matrimony.

Rebekah veiled herself, as was the custom, until the marriage (Genesis 24:65). "Then Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent; and he took Rebekah and she became his wife, and he loved her. So Isaac was comforted after his mother's death" (Genesis 24:67).

You see, the Bridegroom is coming to lift the veil over the face of His Beloved. He desires face-to-face encounters: eye to eye, nose to nose, and lip to lip. She has made herself ready in the secret place and preserved her beauty for His eyes only. As she dismounts from the camel, He will whisk her away unto Himself. (Photo via Flickr)

What If God Chose a Woman?

So that is the question on the table today. What if God chose a woman this time? We're in the time of personal repentance that will bring about personal spiritual revival. Then we will experience a great awakening. The Body of Christ (at large) has been in a deep sleep, or slumber, for a long time. But there's been an awakening in her soul that's stirring the spirit. I've seen her coming to life, and when she does, she'll be vigorous and ready to climb every mountain and conquer all obstacles. She will be fearless.

So why wouldn't God choose a woman? In past movements, it's been primarily men with a handful of women. So why not now?

In the dream, I was the only woman in a room full of men. But when the question was asked, none of the men answered. Immediately I was standing on the outside near the camels observing the brilliance of the moon (the glory of God). I believe I represented women, like Esther, being set apart for this time. The men in the dream represent the old mindsets, old wineskins. However, the Lord is placing His hand upon women in this season and anointing them with power. We must recognize the anointing no matter who it rests upon. And we, as the Body of Christ, must give honor to the Anointed One no matter the vessel He chooses to use. In past movements, only a handful of women were recognized. They were restrained, although a remnant survived.

In summary, I pray that the Body of Christ will "Herald the Sound," "Follow the Star," and be prepared, because the camels are ready! And if God chooses to anoint women in this movement, bless them and stand with them. Don't oppose what God is doing through them. Remember, we are all one Body, and Christ is the Head (Colossians 1:18).
