From the Desks of Steve Shultz and Julie A. Smith:

Your prayers unto the Lord are of the utmost importance... Don't ever question that!
Demontae Edmonds writes an excellent word as he shares about the mantles of prayer:
We have prophesied the arising of the prophetic mantle and the apostolic mantle. Over the last three decades, these mantles have come into a place of greater prominence. In this season, PRAYER MANTLES ARE ARISING. There is a special grace that some will receive for prayer.
God has given us the power of prayer to "decree a thing and it shall be established."

The Lord spoke to me that a prayer revival will burst forth in this nation. I saw it not so much as a national revival in one locality or church, or relegated to just one region, but rather bursting forth within several territories simultaneously.
A Prayer Revival vs. a Prayer Movement
The Lord used the phrase "prayer revival" instead of "prayer movement." I believe we have seen several prayer movements over the last century within America, but this will be a little different.
In a prayer movement, several leaders usually help stir up the spirit of prayer by stressing, teaching, and pushing the importance of prayer. They schedule specific times for leaders, churches and Believers to gather for strategic prayer. I believe the prayer movements of the past have been foundational and a catalyst for the charismatic movement that started many years ago, as well as the apostolic-prophetic reformation that we are living in now.
The difference in what I saw is that these prayer revivals seem to be more spontaneous and more combustible.
When Fire Falls
In a short vision, I saw huge blue flames just fall, and then people being overcome with a desire to pray within certain regions.
Do you know what happened when the fires of God fell from Heaven in Acts 2? There was a spontaneous combustion of a new dimension of prayer (in this case, the ability to "pray in the Spirit" or "pray in tongues"), and a new intensity of prayer.
"And suddenly there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." (Acts 2:2-4)
God rewarded their diligence in prayer with a new level of prayer and a new level of power! Note that they were not lazy, sitting around and waiting for fire to fall from Heaven. They were actively pursuing God's will and heart. (Photo via Pixabay)
Although Jesus had promised them that the Holy Spirit would be poured out upon them in Acts 1, one would think that they would've still been caught off guard by how sudden and how instantly things changed during their time of prayer and in their ministry. This is what happens when revival fires hit; there is the power of combustion! A "bang" in the spirit happens for you.
The new dimension of power and prayer released upon them caused a spontaneous revival to happen. The apostles and disciples did not schedule or plan a meeting. They stood up with the fire of God upon them, and thousands were saved in one day. Many of these thousands, I'm sure, "caught the fire" and were activated into deep prayer lives that added to the increase and multiplication of the Church.
Another thing that was released with the fire of prayer was the spirit of boldness. The apostle Peter, who had not too long ago denied Jesus three times, now stood up in the midst of the public and decreed boldly that Jesus was Lord. Hearts were pricked by the conviction of his message and the fire of God upon his life.
A House and a People of Prayer
Back to the vision. I saw churches and spaces packed with people gathering to pray. There was less teaching about prayer and more actual prayer.
In many prayer meetings, one person leads prayer and then another leader prays while the audience quietly prays from their seats. But not in my vision, no. Of course there were still leaders, but the entire building was caught up in prayer. There was a greater intensity and longevity to their prayers. It was as if these entire meetings or congregations were overcome with deep intercession. I saw people coming to churches in droves for the purpose of prayer.
"...My house shall be called a house of prayer..." (Matthew 21:13)
The Old Testament speaks, in a way, about the spirit of prayer (or revival prayer) pouring out upon a land or people. Zechariah 12:10: "...I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and supplication..." Merriam-Webster's dictionary gives this definition for supplicate: "to ask for earnestly and humbly." There is an anointing or fire that God can pour out upon a people which causes the revival fire of prayer and intercession to consume them. When this happens, they begin to contend for the purposes of God to be realized in the earth.
Mantles of Prayer
The Lord also spoke to me that the catalyst for the spirit of prayer, or prayer revival, that would fall upon many places would be men and women of God who have been entrusted with mantles of prayer. (Photo via Unsplash)
We have prophesied the arising of the prophetic mantle and the apostolic mantle. Over the last three decades, these mantles have come into a place of greater prominence. In this season, PRAYER MANTLES ARE ARISING. There is a special grace that some will receive for prayer.
I remember, years ago, when praying for hours, for days on end, was natural. My friends called me, jokingly, "The Praying Mantis" – a play on words!
There is the spirit of grace and supplication that can come on a person's life. One such person to receive such an endowment from Heaven was a young man named Evan Roberts. Evan worked in the coal mines of Wales from age 11 to 23. This type of work was hard and grueling. However, at every spare moment, he could be found within the mines engaged in reading the Word. He spent many hours in the middle of the night caught up in prayer. Some said it was as if he was in another dimension, as he looked off into the sky praying for hours through the night.
Evan's prayers for revival for Wales finally broke through in 1904. From 1904-1905, Wales seemed to be engulfed in a new spiritual fervor and a new national revival of prayer and repentance. Over 100,000 souls came to God in less than one year. Some in America wrote to those in Wales, asking them to pray that the same spirit of revival and prayer would hit America. God answered these prayers and sent the great Azusa Street Revival to America soon after. The catalyst for all of this was the mantle of prayer that fell upon one young man's life! Wow.
Prophetic Decree
Lord God, we decree that there is a stirring of prayer in this nation and the nations of the world. We decree, in Jesus' name, that mantles of supernatural 'prayer grace' are falling upon those appointed and anointed to carry such grace. We ask that these individuals would be activated to fan the flames of the new prayer movement/prayer revival, causing churches and regions to be uplifted into new places in God.
Father, we pray for those who have been lethargic and stagnant to receive a fresh wind of the Spirit that will cause them to grab ahold of the "spirit of grace and supplication" spoken of by the prophet Zechariah, in Jesus' name!
