As I've been seeking the Lord, I have been drawn again and again to the early chapters of Joshua. I sense the Father speaking a lot about crossing over, stepping in, thresholds, pressing through, and open doors.
I shared this word on social media the other night. I pray it encourages you to keep moving forward—even through weariness, opposition and disappointments—to take hold of all that God is making available. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

You've been standing at the edge, skirting around the perimeter and staring at the promise – longing to walk into it. You've been praying, declaring, and believing, but it still looks so far away. It seems impossible. The obstacles appear impassable. The reasons why it can't happen are innumerable.
The warfare and weariness have been relentless. You've been tempted to settle for less, but the Voice inside won't let you. The appointed time has come; a "crossing over" is imminent.
Accelerating into Promise
In these next two to three coming weeks, you're going to experience a significant advancement. The waters will part, the way will open and a path will be made. In many cases, it will feel as if things are happening too quickly! After all this waiting, you'll want time to prepare.
"And as soon as the priests who carry the ark of the Lord – the Lord of all the earth – set foot in the Jordan, its waters flowing downstream will be cut off and stand up in a heap." (Joshua 3:13:)
I see the numbers one, two, three, and then seven, eight, nine. It's as if you're going to skip a few steps. A divine push will bring a sudden acceleration – a fast-forward motion. Your head will spin, but you are so ready.
For some of you, life is going to look very different overnight. A contact or call or conversation will lead to sudden movement. You won't have to push or self-promote. A door will open that you didn't even knock on. An opportunity will appear that you weren't even seeking. An invitation will arrive that wasn't even on your radar.
It's time to step over. It's also time to step up, to back yourself, to release what's inside of you, to upgrade your identity and to walk in your authority.
"'Come,' He said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus." (Matthew 14:29) (Photo via Pxfuel)
Seeds faithfully sown in these past seasons are going to bud and bear fruit. Your long obedience will be rewarded. Your patient waiting will have been worth it.
An Unusual Grace and an Open Door
There will be an unusual grace on this next season and assignment. Yes, there will be battles, but also quicker breakthroughs. You'll feel as if you've found your "fit." Your tribe will be small but fiercely faithful.
Put wilderness living behind you. Manna is off the menu. Milk and honey await you. Step across the threshold toward the promise. The door is opening for you.
"...But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me Heavenward in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 3:13-14)
