From the Desks of Steve Shultz and Julie A. Smith:

Steve ShultzGod likes speaking to us in riddles and parables. After all, Jesus often spoke to His disciples in parables too.

This is a great word from Nathan Shaw of New Zealand, as the Lord recently spoke to him this way, and he opens with:

Recently, God kept speaking to me, using the same word twice. The simple statements were like riddles that had layers of meaning. The three things He spoke to me were "Change and change," "Way and way," and "Well and well."

Steve ShultzNow that's intriguing! As you read the rest of Nathan's article, you'll find out multiple meanings that the Lord spoke to him, including other powerful words from God's heart for you.

Enjoy...and remember His promises to you are YES and AMEN! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"God Spoke 3 Things to Me: Change, Way and Well"

Nathan Shaw, Dunedin, New Zealand

Recently, God kept speaking to me, using the same word twice. The simple statements were like riddles that had layers of meaning. The three things He spoke to me were "Change and change," "Way and way," and "Well and well."

"Change and Change"

Sometimes when God speaks you not only hear the words, but you also understand the meaning. This was true in this case. The first "change" meant that things would be different. The second "change" was like referring to the cash you receive back after purchasing an item. I intuitively knew God's meaning. He was saying, "I am bringing about a change that is going to make your vision seem like small change in comparison to My vision. Change your vision for Mine."

The change God is bringing in many people's lives will make that which they thought of as provision just seem like small change. When a statement is made that is hard to believe, it is a common practice to say it twice. The repetition is a way of saying, "I really mean it." That's exactly the tone God used when He spoke to me. Here's a great prayer we can pray: "God, I surrender my vision, and receive Your vision."

"Way and Way"

Once again, I intuitively knew God's meaning. The first "way" meant being in the way of something, as in being a hindrance. The second "way" referred to God making a way or being The Way. Many of God's children feel like they are a hindrance, and more of a problem than a solution. God says, "You are not in the way; I am putting you in the way. Not only will I put you in the way of the devil's plans to hinder them, I will also put you in the way of the spout where My glory comes out.

"By My Spirit you will blaze trails and open up realms, dimensions, people and territories. Say, 'No longer am I in the way,' for I have put a pioneering spirit in you and on you. Rather than being in the way, you will open up ways...despite the fact that there seems to be no way."

Once again, the double saying was God's way of emphasizing that He is definitely going to do this. God loves turning the tables and putting us in the way of the devil, and He loves positioning us so that we are directly in the way of His provision and can receive it fully. He gives us permission to declare, "I am not in the way, but I am opening up new ways."

"Well and Well"

Once again, the meaning was clear to me. The first "well" meant that people would be well, as in physically healed and healthy. The second "well" meant that these same people would become a well of living water and overflow with the fullness of God's life. God's plan is not only to make people well, but also to make them gushing wells of living water. (Photo via Pixabay)

Once again, God was saying, "Your vision is too small. Change your vision for Mine. The provision that comes from the well makes everything else just look like small change."

He gives us permission to declare, "I'm well, and I'm a well!"

God has an amazing economy with words. He knows how to say things succinctly, directly, and with attitude. God's attitude toward us comes from His intense love for us. As Paul says, "...If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31). God's attitude is gutsy, not mousy. The righteous take on God's attitude and "the righteous are as bold as a lion" (see Proverbs 28:1).

The three statements that God spoke to me are like promises. They express something of the overflow of God's heart toward us. They are not mousy suggestions. Rather, they are bold declarations spoken with the determined growl of a Lion. God always means what He says and says what He means. His exhortation to us is this: "Trust My word, believe My promise, and embrace My attitude."
