Purim
As we have entered the month of March, we have come into a divinely appointed time by God – a time of celebration and joy, where mourning turns into feasting. Many of God's people celebrate Purim, which is a major Jewish holiday celebrated on the 14th day of the Hebrew month of Adar (late winter/early spring). "It commemorates the (divinely orchestrated) salvation of the Jewish people in the ancient Persian empire from Haman's plot 'to destroy, kill and annihilate all the Jews, young and old, infants and women, in a single day.' Literally 'lots' in ancient Persian, Purim was thus named since Haman had thrown lots to determine when he would carry out his diabolical scheme, as recorded in the book of Esther" (Chabad.org).
Faced with the Impossible
As this special holiday is approaching, I took time in the presence of God to hear His heart for His people during this time. I could see in the spirit dimension that the enemy has been setting many traps for God's people, just like in Esther's time. It wasn't enough that she was exiled from her land and lost everything; the enemy was after her life too. Furthermore, she was faced with an impossible situation. Her uncle petitioned her to enter the king's inner chamber and plead for the lives of her people.
Esther knew that her uncle was asking for an impossible task. She told him, "All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces know that any man or woman who goes into the inner court to the king, who has not been called, he has but one law: put all to death, except the one to whom the king holds out the golden scepter, that he may live. Yet I myself have not been called to go in to the king these thirty days" (Esther 4:11).
When Esther's words reached her uncle Mordecai, he warned her by saying, "For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father's house will perish. Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14).
After a time of prayer, fasting and humbling herself before God, Esther decided to enter the king's inner chamber as she promised her uncle. Filled with fear and trembling, she put on her royal robes and stood in the inner court of the palace. Shockingly, when the king saw her, she won favor in his eyes. "And the king said to her, "What do you wish, Queen Esther? What is your request? It shall be given to you – up to half the kingdom!" (Esther 5:3).
Before hearing her petition, he granted it. As I read this, I heard the Holy Spirit say, "In the month of March, impossible petitions shall be granted, and divine deliverance will be coming from the heavenly quarter." Divine providence will be on display. God has been working behind the scenes. Despite impossible situations we find ourselves in, our petitions shall be granted, for nothing is impossible with God.
I heard this verse repeating over and over in my ears: "For all of God's promises have been fulfilled in Christ with a resounding 'Yes!' And through Christ, our 'Amen' (which means 'Yes') ascends to God for His glory" (2 Corinthians 1:20). As God's beloved people, we need to take our rightful position, put on the robe of righteousness and enter the King's inner chamber – not to ask, but rather to receive what He has already paid for. Esther was facing a pagan king who could have ended her life. In contrast, we are facing a loving Father who is ready, willing and able to do exceedingly abundantly more than we can think or imagine (Hebrews 4:16, Ephesians 3:20).
The Record Books Will Be Opened
The Holy Spirit whispered another word to me: "The record books will be opened." God is getting ready to publicly reward His people. I was reminded of Hebrew 6:10: "God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them." The same theme is repeated in the book of Esther.
One night, at the same time when Haman, the evil minister, was planning to tell the king of his plan to kill Mordecai, the king couldn't sleep and asked for the book of records to be read to him. Out of all the records, the story of a man named Mordecai, who saved the life of the king from those who wanted to assassinate him, was told to the king.
The king asked, "What honor or dignity has been bestowed on Mordecai for this?" The answer was "Nothing" (see Esther 6:3). Interestingly, right at that same time, Haman walked in to seek the king's approval to kill Mordecai. The king saw him and thought, Who better to help me honor Mordecai than my adviser?
The king asked him, "What shall be done for the man whom the king delights to honor?" (see Esther 6:6). Haman thought, Who else would the king want to honor more than me? So he came up with a whole list of ways the king could honor him. The king said, "Excellent...do just as you have said for Mordecai the Jew... Leave out nothing you have suggested!" (Esther 6:10).
Many of God's people have been faithful, yet the enemy is coming against them to destroy them. God will shame the enemy and expose evil plans. The same man who was coming to plan Mordecai's death was ordered by the king to honor him. Furthermore, after Haman's death, the king honored Mordecai himself. "The king took off his signet ring, which he had reclaimed from Haman, and presented it to Mordecai. And Esther appointed him over Haman's estate" (Esther 8:2).
Haman, who did not have honor, could not give honor. Therefore, the king had to do it himself. I heard God say, "The time is coming for Me to honor My people Myself."
Evil Laws Revoked and Kingdom Laws Invoked
Another very important phrase I heard from God was this: "Evil laws will be revoked, and My Kingdom laws will be invoked." The word "revoke" means "put an end to the validity or operation of (a decree, decision, or promise)." The king clearly told Esther, "Whatever has already been written in the king's name and sealed with his signet ring can never be revoked" (see Esther 8:8). The problem was that there was a law which was written to destroy the Jews. Haman bribed the king by paying 10,000 talents of silver into the king's treasury. Furthermore, the king agreed to this, confirming his decision by removing his signet ring from his finger and giving it to Haman (see Esther 3:9-10).
This evil law needed to be revoked, yet Esther knew it was impossible. When she approached the king and asked him, she found new favor in his sight. Not only did he agree to write another decree, he asked her to write what she pleased in the name of the king, and to seal it with his ring (see Esther 8:8). He gave his name, and his authority.
By God's grace, evil laws were revoked, and God's people celebrated. Their mourning was turned into joyful dancing. If God did it for them, He will do it for us in the month of March! Yay!
As I was praying, I heard God say, "I will revoke evil laws and invoke My Kingdom rule. I have given you My pen and authority. This is the time to use it, for you have found favor in My eyes."
The Month of Divine Deliverance and Justice Served in Your Favor

The Lord says, "They plot their evil plans to kill and destroy My people, to scatter the young and the old and they oppress My people, making them think that I have forgotten them or that My hand lost its power.
"Your enemies will not laugh at your downfall. Rather, the One enthroned in Heaven will laugh at them. For I shall turn their plans against them and make a public spectacle out of them. I will make Myself known in this time of affliction and give you courage. For I do not approve of injustice and will arrest every spirit of oppression harassing My people.
"I will not forget your work and the love you have for Me. I am aware of all of your struggles and the traps the enemy put in your way to discourage you and destroy you, for I shall give you divine favor. If this pagan king said to Esther, 'What is it that you want? It shall be granted! What is the desire of your heart? It shall be fulfilled!' how much more will I do for you?
"Divine relief and deliverance will be coming from the heavenly quarter, and justice will be served in your favor.
"This is the month where impossible petitions will be answered and requests granted in the most supernatural ways. Charges will be canceled, and laws written to destroy My people will be revoked. Fraud and bribery will be exposed. For who is this who would dare to stand against the Lord's anointed? For if a pagan king did the impossible and revoked the irrevocable laws, how much more will I do? If he handed Esther his pen and got her to re-write her law, sign it with his name and seal it with his ring, how much more will I do for you? For I have given you the name of My Son Jesus, which is above every other name, and His authority.
"This month you will trample on snakes and scorpions and all the power of the enemy. You have My pen to write your impossible petition, and in My name it shall be granted. Evil laws will fall, one after another, and My people will take their rightful positions and exercise My Kingdom rule.
"Great deliverance is coming, and revival will spark from the least to the greatest. You will experience great joy and gladness, for I am turning it all around; and rather than your enemies gaining power over you, you will rise and take power over them. The tables will turn from mourning into feasting. For I am King and Master of all dominion, and I will do what I say, and nothing will be omitted. I will save you from your fear and restore honor to you, for I the Lord your God am with you."
