John Belt: "The Creative Nature of God - You Were Made to Create!"

John Belt
Jun 25, 2022

From the Desks of Steve Shultz and Julie A. Smith:

Steve ShultzWe most certainly serve a creative God. In all of creation, we see His amazing handiwork, which is a incredible reflection of who He is.

John Belt writes about the creative nature of God in his recent article, and this will really inspire you:

God is good. He is creative. We know that the universe is constantly expanding, multiplying and growing through the word God spoke so long ago. That is also God's intention for us – to know His goodness, to keep growing, increasing and expanding our borders. God never runs out of thoughts or inspiration but is always pouring out revelation. Part of the blessing of being connected to Him is that we become an extension of His plans to reveal His glory in the earth.

Steve ShultzYes, God is always, always wanting to increase and expand us...and there is NO LIMIT to His creativity.

Get tapped into the creative nature of God! One of the most powerful things to think about is that we are created in the image and likeness of God. This is what sets man apart from every other living creature. As we yield to His Spirit, there is amazing potential for what can be released through our lives.

"In the beginning God CREATED the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1, emphasis added). Then we read that the earth was without form – darkness was over the face of the deep. Next we read that God's Spirit hovered over all of this. "Then God said, 'Let there be light'..." (Genesis 1:3). After this, we read how God went on a creative spree, as He created all kinds of things in the earth and created man after His own image and likeness.

The Ability to Create

"Then God said, 'Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness...'" (Genesis 1:26)

Dormant within us is the ability to create – just as God created all things – because we are created in His likeness. Even in our nature there is this natural desire to see things differently. We desire to solve issues, invent things and create environments that make things better for ourselves and for others. The perversion and antithesis of this is when darkness shrouds people's lives (as we see in movies and other media), attempting to drown them in darkness and evil.

This is where our inspiration means everything. As man is created in God's image, we do have tremendous, creative power that can be used for evil or for good. Two different kingdoms bring two entirely different inspirations with opposing results.

How important it is that we get our inspiration from Heaven and the Holy Spirit, and yield ourselves in such a way that we can receive this inspiration from God Himself. (Photo via Unsplash)

To tap into the creative nature of God in our lives is to live a life of discovery where there are no limits on how He can use us. This crosses into every spectrum of life. This is Heaven's influence being manifested in every sphere of society: seeing God's goodness revealed, where people can taste and see that the Lord is good.

"Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him!" (Psalm 34:8)

Your Personal Call

It is so valuable for the people of God to discover their own God-given mandates, passions and directives on a personal level. While, fundamentally, we are all called to go into the world to share the good news of Jesus Christ with people, there are personal gifts, creativity and anointings that God puts on our lives which enable people to taste the goodness of the Lord in our various spheres of influence.

It is important to see the 'foundational for all' aspect, as well as the 'personal to you' element that brings forth the fullness of Kingdom fruitfulness for us individually. A religious mindset strains at a gnat and swallows the camel (Matthew 23:24). This is the result of an individual failing to see the desire of God for speciality and creativity in their life – only having a 'boxed mindset' in how the good news can be shared. This is when one adheres to traditions to the detriment of the 'without limitation' aspect of God's creative nature being released in the Believer.

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen." (Hebrews 11:1)

It takes faith to pioneer something that is unseen, new and different than what has been established in the past. Some people still worship at the altar of the old way of doing things, not having the prophetic foresight to see into the future possibilities. We must always be willing to do things differently, not getting hung up on the old ways. We should always honor the old things as being good for their time – and possibly still useful for the present – but also move forward to prophetically pioneer the new, creative ventures that God desires to see in the earth, even through us.

Seeing the Unseen

After all, this is the prophetic spirit. Prophets see into the future. They prophesy that which has not yet happened. This is also how God speaks into existence that which currently doesn't exist. In this time, He desires for His people to come into this aspect of His nature – not only to speak things into existence, but also to become the creative people He has made us to be. God is pouring out blueprints, ideas and inventions to manifest His Kingdom. These things will serve to glorify His name in the earth.

As you tap into the creative nature of God, you will find a freshness and freedom – even a 'breaking out' of the old shell of religiosity that hinders and hampers your expression. God has created us to express. It is not that people ever quit expressing; rather, they end up expressing themselves in the wrong way. When we are tapped into the creative expression, it helps us to be in the flow of God's presence and to express ourselves in the way that He intends. (Photo via Pixabay)

His Vision for You

Know that God only needs yielded vessels. We are all created in His image, and in the new creation there is unlimited potential. It really comes down to the degree that we are willing to yield ourselves, see into what is unseen and venture into the new.

What vision has God given you and what vision may He desire to pour into you so that people might encounter His reality?

As you dwell in the secret place of His presence, open your heart to fresh vision and the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, and begin to take steps onto the waters of prophetic faith to see the glory of His Kingdom revealed through your life.
