The numbers are staggering, but love is greater

Dear Praying Friends,

It is hard to comprehend.

The latest statistics are that 5 to 6 million Ukrainians have left their nation, fleeing the current insanity of war and oppression.

Included in that number are 12,000 to 15,000 of our Jewish brothers and sisters fleeing for their lives with little more than the clothes on their backs. Many of them are returning to their ancient homeland, the land of Israel.

Over the last few months, our teams on the ground in Israel have been giving vital and urgent help to Ukrainian refugees through the work of our Abraham's Bread Feeding Centers, providing not only food but also clothing and other necessary items.

In the midst of this tragedy, we have seen God's love move in amazing ways.

Thousands of Jewish Ukrainians have survived through unimaginable experiences to arrive in Israel safely, and although Israel is arranging shelter for them, there is still so much they need. The Israeli government continues to rely on our efforts as one of the vital organizations helping these traumatized families with everything from toothbrushes to beds to food and clothing.

The Ukrainian refugees coming to our centers for help include the elderly, women, and young children. Your support makes all the difference as we have begun caring for them!

We are communicating with the refugees entering our restaurant-style feeding centers using both Hebrew and Ukrainian, so they feel welcomed and know that we are there to help. It has been overwhelming and humbling to see the gratefulness of their responses as they realize they will be loved and cared for in Israel by people they have never met.

One of the most heart-warming experiences has been providing the elements for a traditional Pesach (Passover) Seder for those who have literally fled with only the clothes on their back.

Deliverance takes on a whole new meaning as we serve these precious people who have survived such horrors.
