Crystal G.H. Lowery: "Become Intimate with Him in Whatever You Do"

Crystal G.H. Lowery
May 15, 2022

From the Desks of Steve Shultz and Julie A. Smith:

Steve ShultzIntimacy with the Lord is vitally important to our well-being in many ways. Not only does it draw us closer to Him, but as we walk with Him, we receive His plans, His direction over our lives, and much more.

Crystal Lowery writes a short but powerful word about this as she says:

We are in control of our own feet. Each step either takes us somewhere new that God has planned for us OR each step takes us away from the journey marked out and created for us by God. If we have stepped out of peace – a.k.a. the secret place (Psalm 91:1) – we need to step back into our dwelling place. We can do that by meditating on the WORD (Jesus Himself)!

Steve ShultzIn that statement alone, we see that our walk with Him is vitally important. If you've strayed off the path the Lord wants you on, you will highly benefit from the rest of this encouraging word by Crystal Lowery. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"Become Intimate with Him in Whatever You Do"

Crystal G.H. Lowery, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina

"Become intimate with Him in WHATEVER you do, and He will lead you WHEREVER you go." (Proverbs 3:6 TPT, emphasis added)

Recently, I received a concentrated number of messages from friends that had similar themes. It seems that many people I know have been feeling very overwhelmed, anxious and pressured, as well as physically and mentally tired. I then looked at my own life and where I am currently on my journey. I realized that I'm facing a similar spiritual battle as there is a major decision that I must make in less than a year.

The Path of Faith vs. the Path of Fear

One thing that I have learned along the way is that whenever I start to feel anxiety or even fear because of a single circumstance or situations piling up, or because of overwhelming pressure to make the right decision, I have ventured out of faith. I have walked beyond dwelling in the secret place (Psalm 91:1). I have tried to do it in my own strength instead of relying on HIS strength.

Pressure, anxiety and fear are all indications that we have walked beyond where we need to be, even if it wasn't intentional. Nevertheless, we didn't get pulled against our will. We willingly walked, step by step by step. (Photo via Pixabay)

Our Precious Promise – Whatever, Wherever

In the Word of God, there are precious promises for whatever situation we are facing. We have to KNOW that the promises exist. Then we have to BELIEVE them. We need to have faith in the TRUTH of the Word of God. Lastly, we have to TAKE the promises for ourselves and our families!

Proverbs 3:6 contains one such precious promise. It is so relevant for times when we are feeling anxiety, fear, and pressure. It doesn't just cover one specific situation; it transcends and applies to ALL we do and everywhere we go!

"Become intimate with Him in WHATEVER you do, and He will lead you WHEREVER you go." (Proverbs 3:6 TPT, emphasis added)

WHATEVER, WHEREVER! What an all-encompassing set of circumstances!

In WHATEVER you do – in your family, in your work, in your personal relationships, in your finances, in your dreams, in your thoughts, in your health – BECOME INTIMATE WITH HIM.

We must have a relationship with Jesus in whatever we do! We must know Him – not just about Him. We must listen to Him, we must hear Him, we must talk to Him, we must walk with Him, we must sing with Him, we must spend time with Him in whatever we do – which is EVERYTHING.

"Whatever" is all inclusive. It includes everything from getting dressed in the morning to brushing your teeth to washing your dishes to paying your bills. It includes where you go on vacation or what job you take. It includes your phone calls and conversations and all of your thoughts that no one else hears.

When we become intimate with Him, we become like Him! When our relationship with Him is so active and involved, we come into alignment with Him as His pure Bride. (Photo via Pixabay)

Have you ever seen people who have been together for so long that they resemble one another? This is an example of RELATIONSHIP, as people become what they behold.

This is why Proverbs tells us that in whatever we do, we must become intimate with Him. The result is that we will "BE JESUS" in all things.

The second part of the verse says, "...and He will lead you WHEREVER you go" (Proverbs 3:6 TPT, emphasis added). The word "and" is a conjunction. It links or joins two words or phases together – in this case, "whatever" and "wherever." These two are linked or conjoined. When we become intimate with Him in whatever, we can be sure He will lead us wherever we go.

The key to whatever and wherever is intimacy with Him. We must come back to Jesus!

In every circumstance, situation or decision in life, when we walk with Jesus side-by-side and face-to-face – becoming intimate with Him and becoming the Bride that He has destined us to be – it will ensure that all of our "whatevers" and "wherevers" will happen in the right place and at the right time. We can't help but be there because we are with Jesus, and He is ALWAYS in the right place at the right time. He created time and space; He is above all of that. We, too, can be above it all!

IF we become intimate with Him, we will be victorious in WHATEVER, WHEREVER – based on faith.
