Many families, and I think I could even say most families, have seen wealth lost in their generational history.
So many find, when they search their genealogies, that within their family history was great wealth and prosperity. Yet now they seem to be living hand to mouth in their present existence. This can be because the devil found a legal right to steal away the wealth from the family line. However, the reality is that if there was wealth committed by God to your family in times gone by, you can bring this before the courts of Heaven and can see decisions rendered for restoration. James 5:1-4 gives us great insight into this principle:
"Come now, you rich, weep and howl for your miseries that are coming upon you! Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are moth-eaten. Your gold and silver are corroded, and their corrosion will be a witness against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have heaped up treasure in the last days. Indeed the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out; and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth."
These scriptures show the Lord promising judgment upon any who would use their wealth to oppress others rather than to bless and serve them. It obviously is not wrong to be wealthy. God even promises in His Word, in Deuteronomy 8:18, to bless with wealth:
"And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day."
The purposes of God being fulfilled require a wealthy and blessed people. Through this people we are told God will fulfill His covenant intent and purposes. This is why the devil likes nothing more than to steal away wealth from families who have been intended by God to steward it. If this has happened to anyone reading this, and I can assure you that it has, you have a recourse. You can bring into the courts of Heaven anything that once belonged to your family and begin to require it to be returned. Proverbs 6:30-31 tells us that a thief who steals must repay:
"People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy himself when he is starving. Yet when he is found, he must restore sevenfold; he may have to give up all the substance of his house." (Photo via The Noun Project)
If there has been thievery against our family in the realm of finances, we can come before the courts of Heaven and request a restoration up to sevenfold. If it has been written in the books of Heaven that your family was commissioned by God to handle riches and they were lost, then you must present a case in the courts of Heaven to see this rectified.
In the scripture of James 5:4, we see that "...the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, cry out..." Please notice that the wages, money, wealth, and riches that rightfully belong to another are crying out. They are demanding that they be placed in the right hands. So much present wealth is in the wrong hands. It was illegally stolen in the spirit world and many times even in the natural world. We must learn how to come into agreement with that which is crying out to come into our hands.
This particular scripture continues on and says, "...and the cries of the reapers have reached the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth." Notice that the cries of the reapers, or those who have a rightful claim to the wealth, mix with the cries of the money itself. The result is a judgment of God from the courts that revokes the right of oppressive economic systems and restores wealth to the right people. This is how we can recover the wealth assigned to our family lines. We can stand before the courts of Heaven and request judgments in our favor. This will take the wealth that has been stolen away and see it brought into our hands as those purposed to steward it.
When we come before the courts of Heaven, we are placing on trial that which is really responsible for the theft. It is the unseen world of the demonic and not necessarily the human element. As a result of this, we should highlight before the courts of Heaven that which God said He would judge. Let's look at a possible way to present a case to recover what demon powers have stolen from family lines.
How to Present Your Case Before the Courts of Heaven
The first thing is to present before the courts of Heaven our claim that wealth was taken from our family. If we have an understanding of how this happened, we can present that. For instance, if the Great Depression removed wealth, we can make this statement before the Lord. Any place we need to repent for unwise decisions, ungodly partnership, or other aspects that might have led to the loss of wealth, we should acknowledge and ask for forgiveness. Any place we are aware of what was stolen, we should remind the Lord of this.
Second, we can ask that anything devised against us to take away the wealth would be judged as unrighteous. Remember that Micah 2:1 says: "Woe to those who devise iniquity, and work out evil on their beds! At morning light they practice it, because it is in the power of their hand."
We can request before the courts, based on the promise of God's Word, that woe would come to any and all that used their authority unrighteously to steal wealth away. Ask that these spirits would be brought under judgment. We can ask that all covetousness be judged that motivated the stealing and oppressing of our family. Micah 2:2 declares: "They covet fields and take them by violence, also houses, and seize them. So they oppress a man and his house, a man and his inheritance." We should ask that the oppression against the family be revoked and that what was lost would now be restored.
Another thing that can be done is ask that anything allowing them to hold back wealth that is meant for our hands would be judged with disaster. Micah 2:3 says, "...Behold, against this family I am devising disaster, from which you cannot remove your necks; nor shall you walk haughtily, for this is an evil time." We are asking that the family that has the wealth that was meant for us would not be able to have it, and it would be brought back into our hands. This is not done out of a vengeful spirit, but it is done out of a cry for justice. (Photo via Pixabay)
I have had things stolen from me. I have forgiven those who did it. However, that does not prohibit me from standing before the Lord and pointing out that it is an unrighteous thing for them to have what was meant for me. I am not necessarily asking for them to lose what they possess. I am asking for justice to be served. It would not be justice before the Lord that I not have what was meant for me, while they had it through theft.
I use this as a case before the Lord to request that the inheritance for me and my family be restored. I ask that a decision from the courts of Heaven would be rendered; that the generational blessings of wealth and prosperity would come into my hands. I then begin to pray that an accumulation of wealth would occur. I ask that the Lord would bless me and make me rich, and that I would have the wisdom of stewardship to see this wealth increase and retention to occur.
I also remind the Lord that according to Deuteronomy 8:18, wealth is for the purpose of fulfilling the covenant made with the fathers. This means that wealth is a generational blessing that is meant for families. May we all experience the breaking of poverty and the establishing of this covenant that allows us to prosper exponentially. It is a huge part of generational blessings.
Our Petition to the Judge
As I stand in Your courts, Lord, I ask that anything that has stolen away wealth appointed and assigned to my family line may be judged. I repent for any and all places where unwise stewardship, decisions, or partnerships were operated in. May Your Blood speak for me.
I also ask that any spirit that was assigned against my family would be judged. I ask that the scheme devised to take away wealth meant for us would be judged. I ask that all power and authority to operate in this activity would be revoked. I pray the spirit of covetousness that produced oppression would be revoked. I ask for a judgment in these matters.
I would point out that it would be unjust for those who stole this away to have what I don't have. You are a God of equity and truth. May my wealth be restored to me, I pray. I ask that I might steward it appropriately as the wealth meant for my family is restored. In Jesus' name, amen.
