From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzWe sure enjoy having our friend Yvon Attia on our Elijah Streams program. She has incredible encounters with the Lord, has shared many of them with us, and teaches others how to access the heavenly realm. Yvon and her husband Mina are dear friends to us!

The Lord recently spoke to Yvon and Mina about the Fig Tree Season...and Yvon opens with this:

Recently, as my husband was praying, he clearly heard the Lord highlight the expression, "It's the fig tree season." He didn't really understand much at the time, but he came to me and said, "Let's pray and seek revelation and ask the Lord what He is trying to tell us about the fig tree."

No matter how seasoned you are...I'm sure you will learn something new in this very fruitful word from Yvon. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

Enjoy this fruitful season that is upon us!

"God Says: It's the Fig Tree Season"

Yvon Attia, Miami, Florida

Recently, as my husband was praying, he clearly heard the Lord highlight the expression, "It's the fig tree season." He didn't really understand much at the time, but he came to me and said, "Let's pray and seek revelation and ask the Lord what He is trying to tell us about the fig tree."

What Is It With the Fig Tree Season?

I took this word and ran with it into the presence of God, and I asked, "Lord, what is it with the fig tree season?" The first thing that came to mind was that the fig tree was the third tree which was mentioned in the garden, and it was used by Adam and Eve to cover up their nakedness because it has large leaves.

At that time, I decided to read the account in Mark 11:12-14: "The next morning as they were leaving Bethany, Jesus was hungry. He noticed a fig tree in full leaf a little way off, so He went over to see if He could find any figs. But there were only leaves because it was too early in the season for fruit. Then Jesus said to the tree, 'May no one ever eat your fruit again!' And the disciples heard Him say it."

Reading this, I became more confused. I asked myself, "Why would Jesus curse the fig tree when it wasn't even time for figs?" So I decided to do some more research, and what I found astonished me.

Two Seasons of Harvest

I found that fig trees bring forth two seasons of harvest. The first one starts in early summer and the second one, which is called the chief harvest, begins in the mid autumn. Another interesting fact was that unlike other trees, figs and fig leaves grow at the same time. So if a tree is covered in fig leaves, it should have fruit, as fig trees don't have blossoms. Interestingly, it was the time of spring, and while it was too early for figs to be out at that time, the tree was in full leaf! Therefore, it looked like it was bearing fruit out of season. The reason Jesus cursed it was because it was meant to have fruit, but it did not. He expected to eat from it, but it was barren! It was deceiving the people around it, as the leaves were telling a different story than what it was bearing. It had leaves, meaning that it should have had fruit, but this tree didn't,

When the disciples saw that the tree had withered and died, they were shocked. And Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, 'May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,' and it will happen. But you must really believe it will happen and have no doubt in your heart. I tell you, you can pray for anything, and if you believe that you've received it, it will be yours" (Mark 11:23-24).

Bearing Fruit Out of Season

While many people read this text and believe that it was about prayer and authority, the Lord was revealing a deep prophetic revelation. He was highlighting to me that it is possible to bear fruit even out of season. I heard the Lord say, "My people, My remnant Church, My Bride, will bear fruit out of season."

I heard the Lord say that this is different than Psalm 1, which says that those who delight in the Lord "...are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do" (Psalm 1:3). Those types of trees bear fruit in season; they follow the natural law and principles of agriculture. But the Lord is raising up a generation which will be fruitful in season and out of season. At that moment, I was reminded of Ezekiel 47:12:

"Fruit trees of all kinds will grow along both sides of the river. The leaves of these trees will never turn brown and fall, and there will always be fruit on their branches. There will be a new crop every month, for they are watered by the river flowing from the Temple. The fruit will be for food and the leaves for healing."

Surrender to the Pruning

This put so much excitement in my heart as I heard God say, "I am removing everything that's covering up the fruit. You will be fruitful in season and out of season."

The Lord said, "This is My expectation from you, for I'm the One who will make you fruitful. I'm the One who planted you in My Kingdom, and I'm the One who is responsible for your fruitfulness, but you need to surrender to the pruning that I will do. For every branch that is pruned, it will produce more fruit. Every time you sacrifice yourself, time, resources and finances, I will bring more fruit in those areas." (Photo via Unsplash)

I also heard Him say, "In the pruning, every tree – with leaves only – in your mind, soul, and life will shrivel, as you need to curse it. This will make room for fruitful trees to grow and bring much fruit. You will bear fruit continuously! For the source of this fruit is the river of My Holy Spirit that is within you.

"So get ready to curse every fruitless tree – disappointments, doubts, fears, insecurities, and anything that is not bearing fruit. Say, 'Be cast into the sea!' and whatever you declare in your prayer, [with belief], you will receive."
