At the start of every month, we seek the Lord for a word to reveal His heart for the month. This word generally sets the stage for the month and raises expectations. At the start of this month, we started to pray and seek the Lord for this word. During prayer, we heard three very specific words: "March for victory."
A Large Army and a Small Army
At that moment, we saw what seemed to be a large battlefield with two confronting armies – a large army confronting a small army. Interestingly, I saw myself standing among the smaller army. Then the Holy Spirit reminded me of the many times in the Bible where God's people were confronted with large armies; and when God was fighting for them, they marched toward their enemies and attacked them. They knew that the battle belonged to God, and He was fighting for them. As a result, they were not marching to their death; on the contrary, they knew they were marching to their victory.
I was reminded of Jonathan, when a great Philistine army came to fight Israel. He marched to his victory, and this is what he said: "'Let's go across to the outpost of those pagans,' Jonathan said to his armor bearer. 'Perhaps the LORD will help us, for nothing can hinder the LORD. He can win a battle whether He has many warriors or only a few!'" (1 Samuel 14:6).
March - the Start of New Beginnings & Winning Battles
According to Almanac.com, the month of March: "...was the time of year to resume military campaigns that had been interrupted by winter... In the early Roman calendar, March (or Martius) was the first month of the calendar year... As March brought the first day of spring with the vernal equinox, it was the start of new beginnings. March became the third month when January and February, which were added to the end of the Roman calendar around 700 BCE..."
Therefore, the month of March marks the start of new beginnings, and it's a month of winning battles, for the Lord Himself will fight for us. March also marks the beginning of spring, where like Aaron's rod, there will be supernatural sprouting, budding, blossoming, and a supernatural production of fruit:
"So Moses spoke to the sons of Israel, and all their leaders gave him a staff, one for each leader, for their fathers' households, twelve staffs in all, with the staff of Aaron among their staffs. Then Moses left the staffs before the Lord in the tent of the testimony. Now on the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony; and behold, Aaron's staff for the house of Levi had sprouted and produced buds and bloomed with blossoms, and it yielded ripe almonds." (Numbers 17:6-8)
Many might not understand this supernatural sprouting/springing up. We need to receive it by faith, like Jesus explained by saying:
"...'The Kingdom of God is like a farmer who scatters seed on the ground. Night and day, while he's asleep or awake, the seed sprouts and grows, but he does not understand how it happens. The earth produces the crops on its own. First a leaf blade pushes through, then the heads of wheat are formed, and finally the grain ripens. And as soon as the grain is ready, the farmer comes and harvests it with a sickle, for the harvest time has come'" (Mark 4:26-29).
Since March is a new beginning, the Lord showed me that many of God's people have received prophetic promises, yet these promises are just lying dormant! But believe by faith, they will spring up! We pray that every battle is won in your life during the month of March, and that fruitfulness will spring up swiftly! He will do it!
