A few nights ago, I had a very powerful dream. I was walking with other female prophets that I know along a road. We were carrying all our belongings with us – they fit in our hands. The Holy Spirit was in the shape of a man, and He was walking with us and actually prophesying over me what was to come for me personally in 2022.
Dream of the Cast Iron Bed
Finally, we came to a driveway at the end of the road. In this driveway was a beautiful cast iron bed. A different man (not the Holy Spirit) was there beautifying the bed. When we asked what it was, the man told us it belonged to a female prophet (who was unknown to me) from years ago, who had died but had left a lasting impact on the earth.
We were watching him and were quite confused. This man was treating this bed like a monument. He was constantly fiddling with it, beautifying it, even painting it a different color, trying to keep it alive. However, even as he did this, it would look the same, yet he would look at it with pride because of all the work he had been doing to 'keep it alive.'
As I looked, I could not understand why he was doing this, because the person who owned the bed was no longer here! He had camped around something that was no longer living! He was spending all his time at a grave site because he thought in doing so, he was honoring what had been before.
A New Breed of Female Prophets
When I woke, I had a strong sense that this bed represented what prophetic ministry for women looked like in the past. It looked like it was a 'cast iron' (like the bed), 'set in stone' ministry model.
I sense the Lord highlighting to us that there is a new breed of female prophets rising who do not care for acclaim or glory. They carry what is in their hands and will not 'set up camp' easily, but rather be ready to move where God breathes life! They are not just in the church; they are in every sphere of society, including in the home. They do not look for platforms or praises, but rather walk the road with the Holy Spirit leading them. They are free to roam and go where the Lord leads because they don't have a lot of baggage. (Photo via Pxhere)
Only You
We can honor those from the past, but let's not turn it into idol worship. May we only glorify the King! If we have a hunger to release God's words upon the earth, walk with the Holy Spirit daily, and go where He wants us to go – no matter where that leads – let us be a people who hunger more for His presence, no matter how it looks!
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." (Hebrews 12:1)
Lord Jesus, we are hungry for You and only You! We cast away our baggage, both inside our hearts and even our ministries and endeavors, to serve and follow only You! We want only You! Restore us, O God, back to Your heart!
