Posted by Darren on the evening of Dec. 8: Upon arriving in this quarantine centre in Toronto, I have been in isolation and solitary confinement. It has been 28 hours. I still don't know the exact location of where I am or how long I will be here. Since I have been here, only two people came in the room to clean it. They looked like stormtroopers out of Star Wars. One nurse called me on the phone [asking me] to give her a reading of my temperature. She did not ask me how I was. She got the temperature and hung up. Three times a day they knock on my door and leave bags of food which I have chosen not to eat. I was born free in Canada and have always chosen my own food. I will not eat these bags of tyranny. We have been treated like animals and criminals. The people have no heart in this place. Their only concern is that we are locked up.
Posted by Darren on the evening of Dec. 8: We do not know where I am. I am near the Toronto airport about 2 km away, because [I hear] planes fly over all the time. My family is not allowed to come here and they are not allowed to give me a care package. I've been in the same clothes for three days. I have no razor to shave or other personal care products. No one in this place has called to see if I have a need. I have no SIM card in my phone (it was broken when I was in Africa), so I'm relying on Wi-Fi to connect with the outside world. We've been in contact with our local politicians and with media; they are trying to help.
Posted by Darren on the early morning of Dec. 9: When they incarcerated me at the Toronto Airport and told me that they were sending me to a quarantine centre, they told me I had a right to call a lawyer. This [is] after they threatened me with a $750,000 fine [Canadian Dollars] or 6 months in prison. There was a police officer (at the ready) with muscles and a gun in case I did not bend to their threats. The intimidation was intense. I thought to myself, "Why should I contact a lawyer? I have done nothing wrong." I just spent two weeks in Africa strengthening people (Christians and Muslims), buying tools for business people who could not afford them, praying for and strengthening leaders in business and government, buying clothes for people, and building houses. I was completely vaccinated and had a negative COVID test result. I followed all of their guidelines and rules for travel. For this I was imprisoned.
Posted by Darren on the morning of Dec. 9: The government of Canada told us that if we were fully vaccinated we would be free to travel and would not have to quarantine upon return to the country, which was the only reason I took the vaccine. I was not worried about getting sick or even dying. I am now [in] day three in a government-run quarantine centre in Toronto. When I returned from Africa, I was taken here. The air quality is very bad and I am not allowed to leave the room. I have no idea when I will be released. I am a Christian and I have peace, but even Paul reminded the authorities of his rights as a Roman citizen when he faced injustice.

• Pray for favor with those in authority to help him get released.
• Pray for the Canning family, his wife and children, during this time.
• Pray for God's presence to saturate Darren right now, and for the God of peace to soon crush satan under his feet (Romans 16:20)!
