Craig Cooney: "This Is a Time of Emergence"

Craig Cooney
Nov 15, 2021

Intro from Nate Johnston:

Steve ShultzI am so excited to introduce a new friend of mine to the Elijah List readers – Craig Cooney (or as he is known on social media – from his Daily Prophetic posts). For years now, Craig's prophetic posts have been such a source of encouragement and direction for me and Christy, as he has a gift to lead the Church through seasons and provides language to help people navigate them well.

His gift is so accurate, and I know you will all love the insight this word shares; but his gift is secondary compared to the amazing father's heart he carries for the Church, and his life message to lead her forward into her best days.

I know this will bless you and lift your arms up in this season. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"This Is a Time of Emergence"

Craig Cooney, Portadown, Northern Ireland

It's Time to Go from Mourning to Moving

Over the last 3 weeks, God has been speaking to me continually from the first verse in 1 Samuel 16. I believe these words are also for many of you today.

"The Lord said to Samuel, 'How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.'"

It Wasn't Your Fault

"Until the day Samuel died, he did not go to see Saul again, though Samuel mourned for him..." (1 Samuel 15:35)

Samuel had done everything God told him, yet still things didn't work out with Saul. You can do your best, give it your all, pour yourself out, be obedient, be faithful, and it can all still fall apart because of the decisions of other people.

It wasn't your fault. Stop blaming yourself. And it's no longer your responsibility. Stop blaming yourself. You need to let it go...it's time to move on.

There Are Some People Who Can't Be Part of Your Future

For years, Samuel had been the intermediary between God and Saul. Now, that connection was severed. God would deal with Saul Himself. Samuel had a new assignment.

There are some people that we simply can no longer have in our lives. It's not our responsibility to fix them or to put what they have done wrong, right. We can mourn the loss of what we had with them, but we must completely cut ties and move on. We leave them in God's hands. (Photo via Flickr)

It's Time to Move On

There is a time for mourning losses, hurts, betrayals, broken relationships, etc...but don't get stuck in mourning. There comes a point where you need to start moving again. God has more for you. Sometimes you will even mourn as you begin to move. You will weep as you walk. You will grieve as you go. That's okay...just don't get stuck at the place of loss.

It might be hard to see right now, but the Father has been working behind the scenes. There are great things ahead. It's time to move. Be on your way...

God Has More

While Samuel was stuck on what 'was,' God had already moved on to 'what will be.'

God says: "Stop mourning the past – what coulda, woulda, shoulda been. You can't change that. Get up, wash your face, and start pressing into My good future. Saul is over; I've let him go – so must you! Now it's time for David to emerge. There is fresh oil. There is a new assignment. Step into the future I have been preparing for you."

This Is a Time of Emergence

After a season of obscurity, consecration, and preparation, it's now time to come out of hiding. Emerge. Come forth. Step out. Leave the wilderness behind. Press forward. There is a new assignment. There is a broad place and wide space that the Father is inviting you into.

You have been through purification and incubation; sifting and squeezing; stripping away and dismantling. Now, as you emerge and re-engage, there will be rebuilding and reshaping; freedom and release; enlargement and advancement.

Come out of the cave. Open your mouth. The muzzle has been removed. You have been unmuted. Now is the time to release your sound. Your voice carries a new authority in the spiritual realm. Speak life, prophesy to dry bones, declare what will be, and decree the Word of the Lord.

You will experience significant release and resource as you exit 2021 and enter 2022. This is a kairos moment – a pivotal time of unique opportunity and unusual shifts. Things will not be how they were.

Break off those last remaining ties to attachments you know you must leave behind. Shake loose any remaining debris from the past season. Sever the cords of sinful habits and the stuff that drains you. Stop dragging those dead pieces from your past into your future. (Photo via Pxfuel)

This is a time to:

• Re-create and rebuild
• Re-imagine and innovate
• Pursue God-given dreams and step into new opportunities
• Push back boundaries and press into unexplored territory
• Lift the lid off of previous limitations
• Cast aside containment
• See the fruition and fulfillment of the dormant dreams that are buried in your heart

The Spirit will impart blueprints and downloads, ideas and innovations. Press forward with a holy boldness and a humble confidence. You are ready. Your gifts have been honed, your spiritual sensitivity sharpened, and your character refined. Show up. Stand out. Engage. Emerge. It's time for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed.

"For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed." (Romans 8:19)

"Then David went out of the cave and called out..." (1 Samuel 24: 8)

"The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance." (Psalm 16:6)

"See, the former things have taken place, and new things I declare; before they spring into being I announce them to you." (Isaiah 42:9)
