From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve Shultz

As we get toward the end of the year, and with holidays coming, it may feel like we are "winding down" – but NOT so!

It is not a time to wind down, but a time to amp up with the Lord.

Anne Ballard shares a very good word here for you this month:

Watch as what the enemy tried to use to derail you is turned around and used for your good. The tables are turning in your favor! The enemy has overplayed his hand and he's backed into a corner.

I wholeheartedly agree! (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

Enjoy the rest of this word from Anne.

In the month of November, God is making a way where there seems to be no way. He is releasing supernatural faith for impossible situations and divine turnarounds. He is empowering us to take back what the enemy has stolen from us.

As we renew our minds in His Word, God is giving us joy for the journey and patience for the process. Our trials shall become our testimony – the testimony of His goodness.

He Is My Waymaker

"The Lord is my strength and my song, He has become my salvation." (Psalm 118:14, NKJV)

God is making a way where there seems to be no way. Many people are in impossible situations where there seems to be no solution. You may be trying to buy a house in a crazy market, facing a dismal diagnosis, losing your job or business, struggling with infertility, or scrambling to make ends meet. God knows the end from the beginning, and He is not surprised by your current situation.

Do you believe God has a solution for your specific situation? Where are you placing your faith? Is it in the impossibility of your struggle, or with God's ability to overcome? Whatever we focus on grows: the seemingly impossible nature of our situation or God's supernatural ability. When you focus on God's supernatural abilities to work in your situation, your faith attracts divine solutions and miracles. Your trial will become your testimony.

Watch as what the enemy tried to use to derail you is turned around and used for your good. The tables are turning in your favor! The enemy has overplayed his hand and he's backed into a corner.

This word is for anyone who is facing a big battle and needs supernatural breakthrough. This is for you if things have consistently felt hard and like you can't seem to break through. It is important to renew your mind with truth and align your faith with God's ability to overcome. Declare the truth of Scripture over your life. Ask God to highlight the truth in His Word – even if it doesn't yet feel like the truth. (Photo via Unsplash)

Joy for the Journey

The joy of the Lord is my strength (see Nehemiah 8:10).

So often we can have big dreams and goals that become all-consuming. But when we become only destination focused, we can actually lose sight of the journey we're on. Our focus on the end goal can derail us and cause us to miss out on the enjoyment of today. We must be intentional about embracing the process. So many people want to jump ahead to the end result, losing sight of the growth that happens on the way to the destination. If we only focus solely on the end result, we may get discouraged. Choose to focus on small victories and progress, not perfection.

God is reminding us to partner with Him along the journey. The joy of the Lord is a fruit of the Spirit and flows out of us when we host the Holy Spirit. Remember that He is with you and wants to be included in our process. This word is for people who are super focused on their goals. If this is you, you may have even felt disappointed lately that your goals are not progressing as you'd hoped. You wouldn't characterize yourself as joyful right now and are not really sure when or how this happened.

If this is you, invite God into the places where you've gotten lost on your joy. Spend time in His presence just being with Him, even when it seems like you don't have time – especially then! Slow down and look around. Ask God to show you where you lost your joy and how to find it again. As you partner with Him, you'll regain clarity and joy. And who knows? You may even find that those all-consuming goals will change and shift in His presence to become something entirely different and even more beautiful.

Recompense Is Coming!

"...'Pursue them,' He answered. 'You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.'" (1 Samuel 30:8, NIV)

There's a story in the Bible of David and his mighty men at Ziklag (1 Samuel 30). In this story, they returned home to discover that the Amalekites had raided and plundered their town, burning it and taking captive the women, children, and animals. David went before the Lord in distress and asked if he was to go after what was stolen. The Lord said YES! So, he and his mighty men pursued the Amalekites, overtook them, and retrieved everything that had been stolen!

We know that the enemy is the prince of the power of the air and that he has come to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He can only take the power that we give to him. When we have something stolen from us (a dream, a relationship, money, a child, a marriage), it can be easy to just accept that it has to be that way. But what if God is inviting us to pursue what we've lost just like He did with David? What if He is calling us to stand in faith for what He has promised or what is rightfully ours?

We are in a battle for the planet – a spiritual war that is happening before our very eyes. There is an invitation right now for us to ask the same question of the Lord that David did. Shall we go after what was lost? God has assured us in 1 John 5:14-15 that if we ask anything according to His will we shall have it! This is a time to partner with God to reclaim what has been lost. Recompense is coming!

God is inviting you to not accept your losses, but to stand up, be bold, and fight for what is rightfully yours. This word is for people who have lost something in the last couple of years. If you have lost anything during the time of the pandemic (relationships, jobs, homes, businesses, profits from businesses, etc.), now is the time to get it back. First, ask God if you are to pursue what the enemy took from you. If He says "yes," ask Him how to go about it. Your victory is in the hands of the God of justice. (Photo via Piqsels)

Absolute Truth

"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (John 8:32, NIV)

God's Word is absolute truth, and Jesus came to the earth embodying that truth (John 14:6). Relativism has infiltrated our world and even the Church. Rather than believing what the Bible says, we have created doctrines and ways of thinking that change based on our experiences. For example, let's take supernatural healing. If we haven't experienced God's healing, then we might deduce that He doesn't heal anymore, and might even decide that the gifts of the Spirit have ceased to function. However, just because we haven't personally experienced something, doesn't mean that it isn't true.

The Word of God tells us that we need to renew our minds with truth (Romans 12:2). This verse is an indication that we might face disparities between God's Word and our experience. This simply means we need to lean into the truth so our experiences will eventually catch up to the truth of God's Word. Rather than changing our beliefs to match what we see, let's be intentional about renewing our minds with the Word of God, which is truth.

He is calling us as Believers to be set apart from the world. He is challenging us to take Him at His Word and to use His Word as a weapon. There is an invitation right now to go even deeper in the Word, as God releases understanding.

This is for you if you have been hungry to see God move supernaturally in your life. If you are ready for an upgrade in your beliefs, stand firm and refuse to change your doctrine to match your current experience. Ask God to open your eyes and heart to the deeper truths in the Bible, and ask to see these truths manifest in your life. Then partner with Him in faith and hold onto His truth, even before you see it.
