Che Ahn: "How to Be Activated in the Supernatural"

Che Ahn
Jun 11, 2021

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzI will never, never, EVER forget my introduction to the supernatural. To say that it changed my life would be a major understatement.

After 1981, nothing would EVER be the same. Not even close.

My wife and I were part of a tiny prayer group who decided to pray for a friend who had debilitating arthritis.

But...we were not prepared for Claudia, the recipient of this prayer, to be healed before our very eyes.

And speaking of "eyes," in the twinkling of an eye, our entire life theology and all our understanding of God and who HE is, and who HE wants to be in us – was forever changed.

As you pursue the supernatural, you would do well to prepare to have YOUR entire theology about God changed.

I don't mean that you will change your foundations of Scripture about the virgin birth, the centrality of Christ or the Trinity. No, those are foundational.

Mostly what I mean is that you will soon learn that what you thought and felt regarding the KINDNESS OF GOD was woefully "less than" the truth.

Now, with that in mind, please read this word through Che Ahn about your pursuit of the supernatural.

I mean it when I say, "ENJOY!" (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

One of the most exciting signs that we are in a season of global revival is that amazing miracles and healings are taking place all around the world. But the healings aren't exclusively confined to the developing continents of Africa, Latin America, and parts of Asia. They are occurring in the Western world and even in "the good old U.S. of A."

I believe that in the great harvest and revival that is emerging in this historic season, we as Believers will experience the supernatural like never before. Today I want to share with you four practical ways to step into supernatural ministry and begin walking in a new measure of signs, wonders, and miracles.

1. Surrender to Significance

The first key is surrender. If you want to live the "supernatural natural life," you actually have to surrender to significance. You must quit "trying" to do things in your own strength; instead you must realize that God is the only One who can bring fruit through your efforts. You have to quit wondering whether you are "special enough" or "good enough" for God to use you or whether you have the right type of formula to produce supernatural results. Establish in your thoughts, once and for all, that God has chosen you to do the works of Jesus.

"I tell you this timeless truth: The person who follows Me in faith, believing in Me, will do the same mighty miracles that I do—even greater miracles than these because I go to be with My Father!" (John 14:12 TPT)

Follow Jesus just like He followed His Father and you will do the works!

"So Jesus said, 'I speak to you eternal truth. The Son is unable to do anything from Himself or through His own initiative. I only do the works that I see the Father doing, for the Son does the same works as His Father.'" (John 5:19 TPT)

2. Totally Immerse Yourself in the River of God

The second key is about being full of the Holy Spirit as you completely immerse yourself in the river of God. I am referring to the prophetic encounter described in Ezekiel 47, where the angel of the Lord led Ezekiel into the river of God until the river was so deep that he could not cross it. The river represents the Holy Spirit and our allowing Him to have total control over our lives and ministries. When the angel brought Ezekiel out far enough in the river, he was in such depths that he no longer had control but was overpowered by the water (see Ezekiel 47:5).

That is a picture of where God wants us to be—the place of total surrender to the Holy Spirit. This is much more than just being born again. You and I are meant to offer our whole being—spirit, soul, and body—to God as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1) and allow His presence to permeate, fill, and influence every area of our lives.

As we allow the Holy Spirit to transform our lives, we will stay in the realm of overflow, continually receiving the Father's love and giving it away to others. The river of God, according to the Gospel of John, now actually flows from within us!

"Then on the most important day of the feast, the last day, Jesus stood and shouted out to the crowds—'All you thirsty ones, come to Me! Come to Me and drink! Believe in Me so that rivers of living water will burst out from within you, flowing from your innermost being, just like the Scripture says!' Jesus was prophesying about the Holy Spirit that Believers were being prepared to receive..." (John 7:37-39 TPT)

Luke 5:17 also assures us that when Jesus ministered "the power of the Lord God surged through Him to instantly heal the sick." Is the power of the Lord present in your life, in your home, and in your church?

Get in the river of God and stay in the river! Plunge yourself into its waters spiritually, physically, and mentally. When you do, the Lord can do marvelous things. Be sure to bring others with you!

3. Contend for Supernatural Healing

The third key is to be proactive in your faith and contend for supernatural healing. When I say "contend," I mean that I want you to be like Jacob—he would not let go of the angel until the angel blessed him (see Genesis 32:22-29). This requires faith and tenacity.

Years ago, I remember when Bill Johnson made an apostolic decree that his church would be a "cancer-free zone." At Harvest Rock Church, I have made a similar decree, and we have seen remarkable healings take place. By contending for healing, I am talking about being in faith and fighting the unseen spiritual war so God can supernaturally heal the sick among us.

4. Be Equipped as an Ambassador of Christ

The fourth key is to walk in faith that God wants every Believer equipped for the works of ministry:

"And He has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists, and some with grace to be pastors, and some with grace to be teachers. And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy Believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the Body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:11-12 TPT) (Photo via Pxfuel)

Bishop Bill Hamon calls this the "Day of the Saints." As I have often said, we cannot reach the world's 2 billion Muslims unless every Believer is used by God to advance His Kingdom. Every Believer has been given extraordinary authority by our Lord Jesus (see Luke 10:19 and Matthew 28:18-20). God wants to use every Believer to heal the sick, cast out demons, and raise the dead:

"And as you go, preach this message: 'Heaven's Kingdom realm is accessible, close enough to touch.' You must continually bring healing to lepers and to those who are sick, and make it your habit to break off the demonic presence from people, and raise the dead back to life. Freely you have received the power of the Kingdom, so freely release it to others." (Matthew 10:7-8 TPT)

The fact of the matter is that the least in the Kingdom is greater than John the Baptist (see Matthew 11:11), and John was the greatest of all the prophets in the Old Covenant! He was greater than Elisha who raised the dead; he was greater than Moses or Elijah who moved in extraordinary signs and wonders.

As New Covenant Believers and ambassadors of Christ, we simply need to know who our God is and who we are in Him. The Word of God says in 1 John 4:4, "Little children, you can be certain that you belong to God and have conquered them, for the One who is living in you is far greater than the one who is in the world."

When you know who you are in Christ—a new creation, a child of God, and a temple of the Holy Spirit—you will see that nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37). Just step out in faith and believe God for the miraculous!
