How are you preparing your heart for Passover?

As you prepare for Passover, you may feel forces coming against you in the spirit. This is because the enemy hates to be reminded of the Passover Lamb's Blood and how it set you free.

Oftentimes, many will experience an increase of doubt, fear, and unbelief leading up to Passover. This is because the enemy knows God releases blessings during Passover and satan wants you to doubt those blessings.

While this may be a time when you are filled with doubt, fear, and unbelief, God is still inviting you to His Passover feast. He wants to rid you of fear and doubt and release healing and divine protection.

In fact, here are two of the 9 blessings of Passover:

• Supernatural Health and Kingdom Prosperity
• Positioning and Alignment That Provides Protection

God is preparing your heart for Passover. Are you willing to be transformed by His preparation?

How God Is Preparing Your Heart and Character

Moses, born a Hebrew and raised in an Egyptian household, fled Egypt with shame, fear, and doubt. He wrestled with his identity. He knew he was a Hebrew, part of a nation that was set apart by God. Yet he struggled with the idolatrous nation that surrounded him.

God pulled him out of that idolatrous atmosphere so He could have some one-on-one time with Moses. He was about to shape his character.

Isn't God doing this today? He is working in our hearts and in the nations. He is shaping our identities and restructuring our time commitments, tasks and activities so that they align with His. When we allow Him to do this, we find rest and restoration... we find healing within our minds, bodies, souls, and nations.

What Moses Needed to Understand...

• Moses needed to understand his identity.

"But Moses said to God, 'Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the children of Israel out of Egypt?'" (Exodus 3:11)

• Moses needed to understand who God was.

"Then Moses said to God, 'Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, "The God of your fathers has sent me to you," and they say to me, "What is His name?" what shall I say to them?'" (Exodus 3:13)

• Moses needed to believe in God's word.

"Then Moses answered and said, 'But suppose they will not believe me or listen to my voice; suppose they say, "The Lord has not appeared to you."'" (Exodus 4:1)

Preparing Your Heart for Passover: Get Ready to Receive an Assignment

Moses gave many excuses, from not knowing his identity to his lack of eloquent speech. He pleaded with the Lord to send someone else. But God had an assignment for him that could not be avoided. God had to transform Moses' character so that he could carry the mantle of authority he was about to receive.

How does this apply to you?

God desires to shape your character because He has an assignment for you. He wants you to go into your mountain with His mantle of awakening revival. Our nation is in the wake of a revival. He wants YOU to be a part of it!

God called Moses to enter an idolatrous place and proclaim, "Let my people go!" He called him to free a nation that had been in bondage for hundreds of years.

The nations need hope. The nations need unity. It is then that we can all begin to break free from bondage and heal.

The Problem Moses Faced Might Be Yours Too

Pharaoh knew Moses one way, but after his encounter with God, Moses was different. People might have said this about you. It is a challenge to go back to the mountain you were once in and minister to the people.

When preparing your heart for Passover and observing the Lord's calendar, people who knew you before might suddenly speak against you. Understand that this is the enemy speaking through them. Just as the enemy used Pharaoh to enslave God's people in ages past, that same enemy is still working to enslave people today... there is nothing new under the sun. However, a way to overcome this problem is to understand your spiritual identity and dwell in unity with the brethren.

"For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one Body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit." (1 Corinthians 12:13)

Preparing Your Heart for Passover: How to Overcome and Begin to Heal

First, allow God to examine your heart.

Take a moment to ask the Spirit to reveal areas in your heart where there is a block and repent so that you can experience His presence. He wants you to operate under His protection; ask Him to reveal His path.

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105)

Second, accept direction and have a teachable heart.

As you prepare for Passover, ask the Lord to soften your heart. Perhaps He wants to use someone to speak words of wisdom into your life. Allow the biblical instruction to shape you with humility.

"Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight..." (Psalm 19:14)

Third, proclaim the Blood of Yeshua.

Yeshua Hamashiach came to deliver you out of idolatrous atmospheres, fear, and confusion. By His stripes, you are healed. Let us pray in agreement and unity with these words today.

"Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!" (Psalm 133:1)

God Is Preparing Your Heart for Passover: Three Questions for Personal Reflection

1. What is the Spirit revealing to you in the days leading up to Passover?

Write these things down. Because the month of Nisan is the month of miracles and new beginnings, you can expect to hear God's voice. He opens wide the doors of Heaven during His appointed times to release revelation to His children. (Photo via Pikist)

2. Is there hidden leaven in your heart?

The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is still in the business of helping you identify and cleanse out the leaven from your mind and soul so that you are set free from the bondage blocking your blessings.

3. Are you dwelling in unity with the brethren?

In these times, it's critical that we understand what it means to dwell in unity. It is good and pleasant and blessings are released when we come together. New oil is poured out, so much so that it drips down the beard of Aaron, running to the edge of his garments (Psalm 133:1-2).

Four Questions to Ask During Passover

After you've prepared your heart for Passover, you can ask these questions during the Seder. They are the same questions we ask...

1. Why do we only eat matzah on Passover, when on all other nights we can eat either leavened bread or unleavened matzah?

A little yeast works throughout the whole dough. If you get rid of the old yeast, then you can return to new, fresh dough. This is what the Messiah did for us when He sacrificed Himself. Because of His sacrifice, we can be fresh dough. It is also a reminder of the fresh start that the Hebrew people had after escaping Egypt. For the people who had known only slavery, it was as being born anew.

2. Why do we only eat bitter herbs at the Passover?

These bitter herbs are a reminder of the sorrow that Jewish people knew thousands of years ago in their time of bondage.

3. Why do we dip bitter herbs twice, when normally we do not dip our vegetables at all?

We dip bitter herbs into the charoset to remind ourselves that the hope we have in God can sweeten even the bitterest circumstances in our lives. The extra sweetness that dipping twice provides symbolizes God's grace and love.

4. Why do we only eat while reclining on Passover?

What comes to mind when you think of someone eating in a reclining position? Probably images of kings and emperors reclining on a couch, having grapes fed to them by slaves. Passover is a way to celebrate the release of the Hebrew people from slavery. On this day, they are the ones eating the grapes. It is a reminder of the freedom that we gained when freed from Egypt.

Passover 2021/5781 Is a Passover to Heal the Nations

The enemy wants to separate and divide the Body of Christ, but now that the Lord has revealed these plans, we can come together as Jew and Gentile, by one Spirit, baptized into one Body (1 Corinthians 12:13). Let us place our feet as brothers and sisters under the Father's table and receive what He has for us this year.
