No Judgment by Marsha Burns
What I like most about the Internet and email is that we don't see each other. Often, I know people only by name. I don't know what they look like. I don't see what they are wearing. I don't know if they are rich or poor, nor do I know their level of education or employment. I can't see their defects. I usually don't know if they are single, married, separated, divorced, or widowed. I don't know their religious or political affiliation. I only know things about them that they choose to share with me. How liberating!
The Lord says: "It is time to become aware of your subconscious judgments. Pay attention to thoughts that just pop up that categorize people and assign a value either above or below where you think you are. My love is the same for all people, regardless of race, gender, or stature. I do not look at your outward appearance or worldly achievements, I only see your spirit and your heart."
"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12)
"For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love." (1 Corinthians 13:12-13)
What we see or know about other people may be dim or relatively non-existent, but that might be the best way to keep us from judging them. The Scriptures warn us about making judgments, which is a function of sowing and reaping.
"Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven." (Luke 6:37)
We will be judged by how we treat others.
We live in a world of division and contention because people judge one another by their own standards. Prejudice prevails because we tend to believe that where we are and what we have – physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, religiously, politically, or ideologically – is superior. But I say to all of us that when we stand in the presence of God, none of that will matter. (Photo via Pixabay)
The Most Important Spiritual Standard
We can love because God loves us.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (John 3:16)
"Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God." (1 John 4:7)
"Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another." (1 John 4:11)
Love is the most important spiritual standard of every generation. When we know God and have His Spirit, we will produce the evidence in our lives manifesting as the fruit of the Spirit.
"But the Fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control..." (Galatians 5:22-23)
Let's grow some fruit!
The Way of Wisdom by Bill Burns
Spiritual understanding will establish you in the way of God's wisdom.
"Hear, my son, and receive my sayings, and the years of your life will be many. I have taught you in the way of wisdom; I have led you in right paths. When you walk, your steps will not be hindered, and when you run, you will not stumble. Take firm hold of instruction, do not let go; keep her, for she is your life." (Proverbs 4:10-13)
God Will Lead You
Wisdom's way will be established if you ask God to lead you into and through this time. God will direct you so that you can walk on His path.
"Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established." (Proverbs 4:26)
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye." (Psalm 32:8)
Satan Will Hinder You
Satan will try to derail you and hinder your journey.
The Lord says, "If you are to live in My Spirit and establish yourself in divine order, you must do all that I ask... You, My people, have come a long way, but you must push through until your obedience is fulfilled. Don't stop short of your goal, but rather push through to complete freedom from all that holds you back."
"Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy." (James 3:13-17)
You must fight the good fight of faith to stay on the path and gain the victory.
"Therefore I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air." (1 Corinthians 9:26)(Photo via Pexels)
"But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57)
The Lord says, "I am leading you and will indeed provide the opportunities that are necessary for you to receive the fullness of that which I desire for you. The decisions you now make will elevate you or cause you to go down the mountain. Do not allow yourself to backslide. Do not allow yourself to make wrong decisions, but seek Me and seek the counsel of My will in all things.
"I will lead you in paths of righteousness so that you may have the power that you need—power to overcome the enemy so that the circumstances and situations you will face will result in victory and not defeat," says the Lord.
4 Necessary Things:
1. You must make good choices.
2. You must not backslide.
3. You must allow Him to lead you.
4. You must seek God's wisdom.
"My son, if you receive my words, and treasure my commands within you, so that you incline your ear to wisdom, and apply your heart to understanding; yes, if you cry out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding, if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of the Lord, and find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding." (Proverbs 2:1-6)
"Hear, my son, and be wise; and guide your heart in the way." (Proverbs 23:19)
"For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled." (2 Corinthians 10:4-6)
Be aware of your thoughts and judgments, and align them with the Word of God!
