Each month has a special anointing and theme on it from God, and He likes to reveal to us His plans through the Jewish calendar.
And yet, it's important to point out that while God uses Hebrew/Jewish dates to convey His purposes, He also uses our normal calendar, the Gregorian Calendar, to do the same.

We've come into 2021, and now we're about to enter the Hebrew month of Shevat, which is the Babylonian name for the 11th month on the religious calendar and the 5th month on the civil calendar, which begins Wednesday, January 13 at sundown.
A Time of Abundance and Sustenance
This is a month where we remember the abundance of God coming forth into the earth. In this month, on 15 Shevat, is the celebration of Tu B'Shevat, which begins at sundown on January 27 through sundown on January 28—in which another New Year on the Hebrew calendar is recognized.
Tu B'Shevat represents the bringing forth of produce from the trees after a rainy season. It is a time to remember we have abundance and sustenance from the earth. This abundance not only comes from our knowledge of understanding what is happening in the earth realm during this time, but also how we as followers of the Messiah live our lives abundantly, trusting in His sustenance in order to advance His Kingdom on the earth.
Among the Myrtle Trees
The month of Shevat is mentioned below in Zechariah 1:7-8 (NASB):
"On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, that is, the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the prophet, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo, as follows: I saw at night, and behold, a man was riding on a red horse, and he was standing among the myrtle trees which were in the ravine, with red, sorrel, and white horses behind him."
Myrtle trees are used to make medicine and they often represent love, beauty, peace, fruitfulness and sustenance. It would be fitting that Zechariah received this vision among these trees. Queen Esther's Hebrew name was Hadassah, which means "myrtle tree." (Photo via Pixabay)
Zechariah 1:16-17 (NASB) reads:
"Therefore the Lord says this: 'I will return to Jerusalem with compassion; My house will be built in it,' declares the Lord of armies, 'and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.' Again, proclaim, saying, 'This is what the Lord of armies says: "My cities will again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord will again comfort Zion and again choose Jerusalem."'"
The Lord is saying He will have compassion. In the Hebrew this word "compassion" is "racham" which means "love, tender mercy and pity." He is speaking among the trees which represent this very thing.
Psalm 1:1-3 (NASB) says: "Blessed is the person who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the path of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers! But his delight is in the Law of the Lord, and on His Law he meditates day and night. He will be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers."
New Mantles for Kingdom Advancement
As we prepare for making an impact in 2021, remembering Shevat, we must reflect on the fact that God has given us Kingdom mantles to rule and reign on the earth, today, through sustenance already provided by the Messiah. We have been given the tools we need in order to advance the Kingdom through the finished work of Jesus Christ. We are simply His change agents, or sent ones, here to impact the earth on His behalf. We carry a corporate mantle of sustenance to the nations.
God spoke to me and said that He is distributing new mantles for 2021. What is a mantle? A mantle is covering or cloak often meaning expansion. It is a drape that positions you to walk in the authority God has given you and with the spiritual gifts He's assigned to you. A mantle is something that you carry no matter what's going on around you or how you're feeling. It determines your level of authority and the office that you have been called to. You must learn to walk in your mantle authority. Some mantles are given individually, some corporately. Today, let's talk about the corporate mantle.
In Matthew 14:15-16 it says, "As evening approached, the disciples came to Him and said, 'This is a remote place, and it's already getting late. Send the crowds away, so they can go to the villages and buy themselves some food.' Jesus replied, 'They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.'"
In this passage, Jesus turned the whole argument around. He told the disciples that they were the sent ones. He needed them to exercise their authority in this area.
Listen again to the words that Jesus spoke: "They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat."
He wanted the disciples to supply the food, but all they had were 5 loaves of bread and 2 fish. The disciples didn't think that small amount would feed the multitude listening to Jesus teach. But with God a miracle happened! Jesus took the bread and fish, blessed them, and they multiplied! Over 5,000 people were fed that day by just that little lunch! (Photo via Pixabay)
This is exactly what God is calling you to do in 2021. You have been given a mantle assignment in the Kingdom of God. You are a sent one; God is sending you out. You are in an ascension place with Christ and you have all the fullness you need to bless others. If Jesus calls you to feed the sheep, to go out and help or bless others, He will bring all provision necessary to complete this.
The Five Loaves and 2 Fish - A "Double Grace"
When Jesus lifted up the bread and fish and prayed, it was like He was lifting Himself up. The five loaves symbolize grace and the two fish mean "double grace." The grace of God leads to multiplication. There is a double portion coming! Notice how the fish, or the Church of Jesus Christ being fed, multiplied that day!
The great awakening is coming! It's our job to tell people about Jesus. Jesus didn't take people out of their desolate places: He met them there and that raised them up. So go! God wants you to carry your mantle assignment and be the disciple who takes provision to others. You will carry the Word and bless people because you are full in spirit, soul and body! More people are going to come into the Kingdom of God because of His power that is on the inside of you!
Walk in the trust of the Messiah, giving you all you need in sustenance through His finished work on the Cross. You are among the myrtle trees. This is the power and strength you need for 2021 to be His sent ones.
