Bill Burns: "Wisdom for Transition"

Bill Burns

From the Desk of Steve Shultz:

Steve ShultzAs a regular reader of The Elijah List, you've likely seen that we have entered a "time and season" part the year with the Jewish/Hebrew calendar announcing the new Hebrew year (5781 this year), and that happened in September. But now we are about to also cross over into the new year on January 1, via the Gregorian calendar.

As followers of Christ, it's good practice to be attentive to all that God is announcing for the new year via either calendar between September and January.

As we have entered 5781 and we are about to enter 2021, please read this Word of Wisdom by Bill Burns of Kremmling, CO.

And here is a tiny excerpt from this word to draw you in to read the whole word by Bill Burns. God is calling His people to prosper...

To prosper is to be successful in all things and to be in health. This will be a season of reward for faithfulness in the face of hardships.

Be encouraged as you read and enjoy this Word of the Lord. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)

"Wisdom for Transition"

Bill Burns, Kremmling, CO

The new Hebrew year began with the Feast of Trumpets (September 18-20, 2020), so we have just transitioned from one year to the next. We are now in a time period in which we, as Christians, are moving into the new season. This time of transition is the period of time from Rosh Hashanah 5781 to January of the next Gregorian calendar year.

The Purpose of Transition

The purpose of transition is two-fold:

1. To make sure you are receiving the promises of the old season.

2. To prepare yourself to move into the new season by paying attention to the prophetic word and the signs that God has given to confirm His word.

Mark 16:20, "And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen."

Don't forget that you must possess the promises God has given, and that the enemy will try to steal or delay those promises.

John 10:10, "The thief does not come except to steal and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

This is a time for faith to be activated because the promises are yes (to be understood) and amen (to be received). (Photo via Needpix)

1 John 5:4, "For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has over the world-our faith."

The Promise

3 John 1:2, "Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers."

To prosper is to be successful in all things and to be in health. This will be a season of reward for faithfulness in the face of hardships.

Isaiah 40:10, "Behold, the Lord God shall come with a strong hand, and His arm shall rule for Him; behold, His reward is with Him, and His work before Him."

The Anointing

The anointing for this season is strength for victory, and will bring the power required for breakthrough and victory.

Nehemiah 8:10, "...[T]he joy of the Lord is your strength."

This anointing will bring the joy of the Lord for warfare and victory. Joy enables you to fight the good fight of faith so that victory is assured.

2 Corinthians 2:14, "Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place."

Psalm 92:4, "For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work; I will triumph in the works of Your hands."

Psalm 47:1, "Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!"

Declare your victory! This new anointing will bring confidence, which is exactly what you need in the time of transition so that you may receive God's promises, and position yourself for the journey of the new season.

Wisdom for Transition

Don't forget this word of wisdom:

Stay connected! The bridge by which we cross over into the new requires that we leave the baggage of the past behind.

Philippians 3:13-14, "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." (Photo via Unsplash)

Ephesians 1:13-14, "In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory."

Ephesians 1:3, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ."

Set things in order. Deal with unbelief, failures, disappointment, and discouragement. It's not over. You still have this time frame of transition to receive all that God has promised you so that you will be ready and equipped for the next season!

Ephesians 6:10, "Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might."

The Trumpet

The Lord has said, "'Behold, I will do a new thing, now it will spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert' [Isaiah 43:19]. So, go boldly into this new season, with new anointing, and trust Me to lead you into the blessings and fullness of it!"
