There is power in the Blood of Jesus. If you only celebrate Resurrection Sunday once a year, you're missing out! You can live and walk in resurrection power every day. We all know that on Resurrection Day we celebrate Christ's death and resurrection. We are all thankful that Christ went willingly to the grave in order to provide us with His abundant life, for NOW and for eternity.
As I already mentioned, many only celebrate this once a year, but because He lives and His Blood still speaks, we can operate in resurrection power every day of our lives! Jesus death, burial and resurrection were always a part of God's eternal plan. Revelation 13:8 states that even before the world was created, the Lamb was slain. This means that both you and I were on His mind before He created the world. God knew that mankind would fall and that it would require a blood sacrifice to redeem each of us. God's mercy and love have always been at the very core for everything He did to redeem us from sin and the effects of sin.
Through the ages, God had a plan and provision to redeem mankind by establishing blood covenant promises. From the Garden of Eden until today, the Bible unfolds a divine plan of God to bless His children with life, protection and provision. His plan involves covenant promises such as life, protection, deliverance, healing and more. However, the binding force behind every covenant has involved a blood sacrifice. The blood sacrifice was the power behind every covenant God has made with mankind. Ultimately, we recognize Jesus, the innocent Lamb that was slain on our behalf, as the ultimate blood sacrifice. He shed His Blood at the Cross for each of us.
You may have heard the song that declares, "When He was on the Cross, we were on His mind." This is true, but, even more is this truth, BEFORE THE WORLD WAS CREATED we were on His mind!
All through the ages God's plan has been in motion-to give us sozo. Sozo, as many of you know, is the Greek word for "salvation." Sozo is more than being saved (and I'm so thankful for our salvation!); it also means that when we receive Christ as Savior, we have healing, protection, provision, peace and, as I like to say, "Everything Heaven has to offer!" Though there is much more to write about concerning the sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf, for the sake of this article, I have given a foundation for celebrating His resurrection. Let's now discover what Christ died to give us through His resurrection.
Christ Has Triumphed!
Adam, in his disobedience, lost his dominion and authority, but Jesus, through His death and resurrection, bought it all back for us. While still on the Cross, when Jesus said, "It is finished!" (John 19:30), satan had been defeated and conquered. Dear ones, the devil is not going to be defeated...he already is!
Colossians 2:15 (NKJV) says, "Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it." This means that He triumphed over the devil, triumphed over all principalities and powers, and triumphed over the kingdom of darkness. Listen up! He has already disarmed every power that could take a stand against us. Therefore, we can say His Blood still speaks today – the Blood of Jesus is still at work delivering us from every plan of the enemy.
Jesus has sealed satan's defeat – yes, it's done. The only way satan has power is if we give him power, and we do this whenever we agree with his lies. When we believe the opposite of what God has said in His Word, we are in agreement with satan. Agreement has power. Agreement with God is our necessary response to His covenant promises. Unbelief is agreeing with and giving power to the enemy. Again, satan has no authority – unless we give it to him. Jesus did the ultimate final work, the finished work to seal his defeat.
Now each of us is to do our part – believe in His finished work on the Cross and choose to live in His resurrection power – everyday! So, how do we do that? There are several ways to walk in this power. Here are a few:
1. Know the Truth About Christ's Resurrection Power!
"I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised Him from the dead..." (Philippians 3:10)
Our main goal, always, is to know our Savior and receive Him as just that – the One that gave His life and Blood to save us! Drawing close to Him daily keeps our minds focused on Him and His resurrection. Christ lives in us and the more time that we spend in His presence, the more aware we will be of His love and what He has done for us. (Photo via Pixabay)
Romans 8:11 states, "...the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you..." This is amazing, isn't it? We are filled with the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, and yet, too often we live like we are powerless. God is inviting each of us to be instruments of His immeasurably great power with the purpose to minister to others and reflect His glory.
The truth is, the power is already in us! We don't have to beg for this power or even fast and pray for it. It's in each of us right now. When we receive Jesus as Savior, His anointing and the power of His resurrection abides in us instantly, and all we have to do is activate that power. Christ, the Anointed One, lives in you; therefore, His anointing and power are also in you. Just activate them!
2. Activate Your Faith and Choose to Believe!
When we were born again, the resurrection power did not automatically operate in our lives. We have to activate our faith by choosing to believe it. Unbelief will short-circuit our belief system concerning the laws of faith. Activating faith for resurrection power is the same way we activate our faith for miracles and healing! It's all about renewing our minds concerning what the Word says about every situation. Consider the passage in Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) which speaks to us about healing:
"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed."
It is clear by the truths in this passage that we were healed due to the sacrificial offering of Christ on the Cross. But He also laid down His life to empower us with His same resurrection power! You activated His resurrection power when you allowed Jesus Christ to come into your life as your Lord and Savior. Think about what that accomplished: deliverance, forgiveness, being made right with God Himself – that's a lot of power! But you had to activate it by faith, by believing.
To activate the fullness of resurrection power, and all the benefits that are promised to you – healing, abundance, peace, joy and every good thing – you must put that same belief, which is your faith, into action. Every yoke is destroyed under resurrection power and every part of THE BLESSING is released. Believe it!
3. Confess It!
When you believe in your heart that resurrection power is residing in you, you begin to activate it through your words. You speak faith-filled words to release THE BLESSING. The power of God is in faith-filled words. If the Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He will make alive your mortal body (Romans 8:11). Now, this Scripture doesn't say that God is going to quicken your glorified body, it says that He will make alive our mortal body.
This is the power of the Word. The Word of God is alive, and when it is spoken it brings forth life into every situation. This is an example of resurrection power coming from God through His Word. It goes from our mouths right into our spirits and quickens our bodies with resurrection power.
A wonderful Scripture to speak forth that contains our confession and resurrection is 2 Corinthians 4:13-14 (NIV):
"It is written: 'I believed; therefore I have spoken.' Since we have that same spirit of faith, we also believe and therefore speak, because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus and present us with you to Himself."
Every time you speak the name of Jesus or plead the Blood of Jesus over a situation, satan is reminded of his defeat.
4. Apply the Blood of Jesus
Make no mistake about this, satan is completely defeated. Yes, his defeat was sealed by the resurrection, but we must enforce it, or act on it. The very same power that raised Jesus from the dead is now living in you. God raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. When satan tries to bring the curse back into your life, keep this in mind...he's trespassing! You have the authority to make him leave. Now act on it! (Photo via Pixabay)
Just as in the children of Israel were instructed to apply the blood on their doorposts, we are to apply the Blood of Jesus on the doorposts of our hearts. In doing so, we are remembering and proclaiming what the shedding of Christ's Blood accomplished on our behalf. So we confess, "Thank You, Jesus, for suffering, bleeding, and dying for me on the Cross. The precious Blood You shed in that hour purchased my salvation – safety, healing, deliverance, protection, provision. It covers all my circumstances, all my situations, all my needs. I apply that provision by faith."
Yes, you can apply the Blood to every situation in your life, especially right now concerning the threat of the deadly coronavirus! God has not left us alone in this and without power. We have the victory; we need to declare it and claim it.
The Blood of Jesus still speaks today. His Blood speaks:
• We are healed.
• We have divine protection.
• We have divine provision.
• No weapon formed against us will prosper.
• We have the victory during the storm.
• We abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
• And so much more! Find the Scripture you need as you apply the Blood.
When sickness tries to come, apply the Blood of Jesus and His resurrection power. If lack is causing your heart to fear, declare that the enemy is defeated and claim the triumph of Jesus and His resurrection power. Jesus paid a very high a price for you to not accept anything less than complete and total victory in His name.
5. Declare the Resurrection Power That Lives in You!
"But if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, He that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in you." (Romans 8:11 KJV)
When you made Jesus Christ the Lord of your life, the Holy Spirit imparted to you that same awesome power. That power is what raised Christ from the dead. That same power defeated the grave as well as principalities and powers. You have been made ALIVE together with Him.
Just think of it; the very same Spirit, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead, is living inside you! That's what I call a good description of resurrection power! And you can live in it every day and not just one day a year.
No sickness can stand against it. Poverty doesn't take permanent residence. Though storms may come, there is no chance for it to stay, because of the Blood. The resurrection power in you can speak and calm a storm, heal the sick, even raise the dead. That's what God's Word promises us. We may temporarily be in a battle, but the war has been won. Stand. Believe and declare, "IT IS FINISHED."
Believing for protection, strength, healing, provision and divine tenacity to stand for each of you.
