"You Are Being Positioned to Produce!"

A while back, I took my, not-so-little-now, formerly stray kitten to have her spayed. Many people are aware that spaying a female cat will not only keep her from having kittens but will potentially lengthen her lifespan. It will keep her from leaving home, possibly getting hit by a car, getting into fights, acquiring diseases or other feline predicaments. Ultimately, in the long run, she will be a healthier, happier cat.

Working for Our Good

It is for her welfare that she was being spayed. However, not knowing any of this, of course, she howled and cried out during the drive over there, scared and confused. I kept telling her it was going to be okay because I knew where she was headed. I laid my hand on the pet carrier, close to her where she could see it, but that didn't work. I tried to comfort her with soothing words as best as I could, but she didn't listen to me. She just cried out, over and over. Although it hurt me to hear her crying like that, I knew what was about to happen was for her welfare.

As she continued to howl and cry, I thought to myself, "We're a lot like that with God!" He is always working on our behalf (see Romans 8:28), taking care of us to give us a better, longer, healthier lives (see 2 Peter 1:3).

Sadly, lots of times, since we cannot see where we are headed, we cry out. We don't understand why we are in the situation that we are in, so we cry out over and over again. Even though He tells us in His Word to trust Him, we cry out! We cry out in fear, frustration, anger and pain because we want Him to change our situation. We want Him to take it away.

"We are assured and know that [God being a partner in their labor] all things work together and are [fitting into a plan] for good to and for those who love God and are called according to [His] design and purpose." (Romans 8:28 AMPC)

"For His divine power has bestowed upon us all things that [are requisite and suited] to life and godliness, through the [full, personal] knowledge of Him Who called us by and to His own glory and excellence (virtue)." (2 Peter 1:3 AMPC)

Do you want God to change your situation?

Time to Grow Through It

Honestly, instead of taking my cat to the vet, I could have changed her situation and taken it completely away. I could have easily turned my truck around, gone home and let her out of the pet carrier. I could have ended her bewilderment and confusion and taken away her suffering. For the short term, she would have been happy. If I had done that, it would have made all of her crying and howling stop, but she would be in the exact same situation. Nothing would have changed in her life.

Sometimes we just have to GROW THROUGH it! It's a Biblical fact. Sometimes we are forced to go through painful situations because no matter how much we fuss and cry, it is for our own good and for Kingdom purposes. Yes, it may hurt for a little while, just like I told my cat, but ultimately, we end up in a much better place.

Once we grow through these circumstances and teaching trials, we will then be able to be promoted. Once we are on the other side we will be positioned to produce Kingdom fruit.

Joseph went to prison so he could be positioned to rule a nation. Noah was trapped on a boat in the pouring rain for an entire year – God's requirement to repopulate the planet. Jesus hung on the Cross – the ONLY WAY to birth an entirely new creation. None of these things would have happened had God simply taken away the prison cell, the pet-friendly cruise ship...or the Cross. These things had to happen in order for the greater things to happen.

"Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience." (James 1:3 AMPC)

"Moreover [let us also be full of joy now!] let us exult and triumph in our troubles and rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that pressure and affliction and hardship produce patient and unswerving endurance." (Romans 5:3 AMPC)

You will be well positioned to produce. It is the same in our lives. Nothing that happens to us in life is coincidence. All one has to do is take a look at Job to see that. God wastes nothing, and sooner or later He will use everything that happens to us for good, according to His plans (see Jeremiah 29:11).

So take heart, saints of God! If you are going through a tough time and cannot see where you are going or understand what is going on right now, count it all joy (see James 1:2)! You are in good company. The blessing of what you are going through will be seen on the other side.

You will be stronger in the Lord, well able to endure whatever comes your way, fully promotable and well positioned to produce.
