Be Bold, Specific and Real
I woke up from a dream recently hearing the words, "Ask Me for what you want," and I knew that God was redeeming what the enemy has stolen, robbed or broken in the past seasons for many people right now.
In the dream, a man called "Rob" and I were chatting about asking God for what we wanted at the moment. I was using so many words to express my point that I'd almost lost the point of what I was saying! The "man" wasn't listening as I was being unnecessarily "timid and nice," instead of speaking boldly and succinctly.
Then I heard a voice say clearly, "Ask Me for what you want!"
I immediately understood that it is important and urgent right now that we ask God for what we want. Don't get caught up in perfectionism, timidity, niceties or a dutiful, religious, "trying to get it right" way of praying, but just pray boldly! Be authentic. Be specific. Be bold.
There is a grace to bring our petitions before God and actually pray them out! Pray, speak out, contend and decree, but ask God for what you want. Religious thinking would try and hinder or squash our freedom to just come before God and boldly ask, activating our faith.
"Call Back Your Stuff"
I understood that "Rob" in the dream represented a "robbing" spirit that has mercilessly come against the Body in recent times, and God is currently, radically, redeeming what the enemy has stolen. You don't negotiate or behave nicely with a robbing spirit, you boldly kick him out and call all your stuff back in Jesus' name!
It is so important to call our stuff back right now. There's a boldness required – a fierce speaking out – specifically for what we are contending for, to evict the enemy's lies. God is anointing your declarations AS YOU SPEAK with fierce courage and new authority.
It is important to be vulnerable, authentic, honest, to the point, and bold as we come before God in the throne room. God wants us to partner WITH Him in decreeing Heaven's solutions, bringing redemption and breakthrough, by inviting us to ASK Him. It's time to boldly and fiercely decree back what has been stolen. He also wants us to ask for the things on our hearts. This was very important in the dream, ascertaining what we are actually believing for and speaking it out boldly in prayer. Many will need to take time and make a faith list before the Lord and contend for specific areas in their lives.
Change Is upon Us
As accelerated change is upon the nations, things are happening quickly, and not all of what's occurring is God's heart for the nations. A key and missing ingredient for breakthrough is often our voice. The atmosphere is ripe for change, to speak forth God-change. There is an urgency, right now, for voices of righteousness and faith to partner with God and decree what He is saying over the earth as He partners with our prayers (Matthew 18:18). There is an equal urgency to speak out God's promises over yourself, silencing and canceling the voice of "the robbing spirit" and partnering in faith with God's Word.
Yes, change is upon us. It is our birthright and responsibility to decree God's change. "Decree a thing" and see it established (Job 22:28) is imperative in this season. Our voice MUST establish Kingdom change. We must declare, decree and announce Kingdom purpose, breakthrough and promise in our lives and nations. We must speak it out. We must ask and decree. Often our prayers are more vital and more powerful than we realize.
"What Do You Want from Me?"
Even more crucial right now is our personal answer to the Lord's invitation and question in this season: "What do you want from Me?" I sense Jesus asking the Body, "What do you want from Me?"
This can be a confrontational question for many, as it stirs areas of unfulfilled dreams and stories, questions, doubts, hurts and past disappointments. For many, "asking" is akin to believing again in areas where delay or disappointment has made it hard to "go there" and ask and decree in faith again.
Asking Him for what we want prods the hurting places of past disappointments. Equally, it compels us to look again at our hearts and, in vulnerability, place areas of pain before the throne, ASKING God to heal, restore and redeem our hearts, as well as healing any hurt or raw places. This is partly why it's important to make your request known to God right now. The asking in itself is healing, even though it requires brutal honesty and courage.
God desires healed hearts and He is restoring the places that need supernatural hope and healing. Be honest and raw in your times with God. Real healing and comfort comes from realness with God. Go to God with your pain and questions, not away from God.
"Now Faith" for "Now Change"
A key in this season is to be vulnerable, honest, specific and bold before the Lord, asking Him for what you need. "What do you want from Me?" the Lord is whispering to you. There is tenderness in the request, but there is also an urgency to speak out decrees and faith declarations, petitioning the Lord with our specific requests. There's a compulsion to be real and stir up our faith afresh. God is calling back NOW FAITH in the Church to decree NOW CHANGE. (Photo via Flickr)
Over and over again the Bible implores us to "ask." Asking and contending activates our faith, but we must ask. Prayer and declarations of change are active, not passive! We open our mouths and speak. The anointed voice of the Church establishes God-change in our nations and families.
From Robbed to Redeemed and the Role You Play
I heard the Lord say, "Let the robbed say they are redeemed!" Declare it over yourself and your loved ones. God is redeeming all the enemy has robbed. Decree, "I AM REDEEMED, NOT ROBBED!"
"Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house." (Proverbs 6:31)
This spiritual principle of fullness of redemption when a robbing spirit is discovered is a Kingdom assignment, right now. CALL BACK WHAT'S BEEN STOLEN. The enemy has overplayed his hand and many in the Body can resonate with this sense of being "robbed" for too long. Finances, relationships, health, family promises, Kingdom purpose, national identity...let the voice of the Bride arise and ASK for the nations!
"Ask of Me, and I will make the nations your inheritance and the ends of the earth your possession." (Psalm 2:8)
There is a divine shift from "Robbed to Redeemed" taking place in the core identity of the Bride. We are co-heirs with God, partnering with God to decree "on Earth as it is in Heaven." Our voice is powerful, crucial and needed.
Sudden Breakthrough and Bolder Faith
There is an increase of sudden, divine shifts. Expect sudden, bolder, bigger, more expansive and unusual breakthroughs. Decree big! Many of the breakthroughs will be quicker than a lot of you envisioned, and so specific to your heart's desires and declarations that they will leave you "wrecked" by God's tender love and specific, personal care. Be prepared to fall in love with Jesus again.
As personal breakthroughs pop, they will encourage even bolder faith to ask for more. But start now. Decree now. Ask now! God is reinvigorating the Hebrews 1:11 "now faith" of His people to speak forth radical Kingdom change and unprecedented, supernatural breakthroughs. YOUR VOICE IS NECESSARY IN THE PROCESS. Ask and pray.
Bows without Presents
Then, in a vision, I saw ribbons and bows without presents dropping down. I was confused by this. For a long time I leaned in, asking God why I didn't see the presents with the bows. There were multitudes of bows dropping and the atmosphere was pregnant with possibilities and wild breakthroughs.
An Ephesians 3:20 season of "infinitely more than we can ask or imagine" is upon the Body. But a challenge to the Body is that if God is saying He'll do more than we ask, there's an expectation that we are at least asking! What are we asking for already so God can expand upon that?
I watched the heavens open in the vision, and ribbons and bows dropped over people and faith exploded. Many will realize the authority they possess to speak out breakthrough and God-change in this season.
After this, I leaned in and again asked God, "Why are there no presents, God?" and immediately I understood...GOD IS WAITING FOR US TO ASK.
The palpable truth of this pierced my heart.
Ask, decree, pray and press in. Contend. Speak it out! God is redeeming what the enemy has stolen, but often He is waiting for us to pray and decree and use our authority on Earth to call in the breakthroughs and speak out God's promises. There is power in partnering with God to decree a thing and see it established in our midst, but even more poignantly we must understand that God is inviting us to ask Him for what we want.
Redemption of Lost and Stolen Time
God is specifically redeeming lost or stolen time and destiny doors to divine purpose. Many who have felt robbed in past seasons, or that time has escaped them, or that their best years are behind them, will be surprised as God redeems time and accelerates what He is doing in their lives. (Photo via Unsplash)
God is not limited by our concepts of how long it takes for restoration. I hear the Lord saying that you have not missed out, and time has not passed you by as He is redeeming time and redesigning and repositioning you. Things will happen quickly! Acceleration is upon Kingdom promise and purpose.
Jesus and the Blind Man
"'What do you want Me to do for you?' Jesus asked him. The blind man said, 'Rabbi, I want to see.'" (Mark 10:51)
The Bible shares about a blind man who is calling out to Jesus and the crowd is mocking him, but when he gains the attention of Jesus he is brought to Jesus who asks him, "What do you want Me to do for you?" You would think it was obvious right? The blind man wants to see. But clearly there was something about the man speaking out honestly, specifically, and with raw boldness what he wanted.
Honestly, anyone who has walked a long journey of seemingly unending delay and disappointment can understand that it would require courage to speak out what looks impossible in the presence of a mocking, faith-squashing crowd. Jesus the hope-giver still says, "All things are possible with God." There's something about our own ears hearing what we are asking Jesus for. There's something about asking Jesus for what we want from Him even when the answer seems obvious. We want to see!
I believe God is asking us to do the same. What do you want Jesus to do for you? Answer Him. Speak it out. Decree it clearly and succinctly: "This is what I'm asking and believing for, Lord."
Unexpected Redemptions
As God completes what He begins, redeems unfinished stories and restores what the enemy has robbed, there is a sense of unexpected redemption.
God moves outside of what we consider possible and is not limited by foreseeable solutions. God is working all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28), and some of His redemptive stories will surprise people in their creativity and divine capacity to recapture and redesign. God is a divine author and He is rewriting your story and completing the interrupted chapters where the thief came to rob.
What Have We Missed?
The season for faith to breakthrough into new realms of manifest glory, harvest and promise is now. Ask, seek, knock (Matthew 7:7). Ask for the nations (Psalm 2:8) and "ask in prayer" (Matthew 21:22).
There is an urgency to ask and partner with Heaven's willingness to break into our nations, families and circumstances with divine turnaround.
I often wonder, "What are we not walking in because we have not asked? What are we not living in because we have not persisted in asking? What are we not seeing on the earth because we have thought it presumptive or not permissible or Biblical to ask?" Matthew 18:18 makes it very clear—our voice and authority must be used!
"Truly I tell you, whatever YOU bind on Earth will be bound in Heaven, and whatever YOU loose on Earth will be loosed in Heaven." (emphasis mine)
Your Voice Can Shift History
Your voice is so powerful and anointed that God instructs and compels us to speak forth His dreams on the earth. He is equally inviting us to speak forth faith declarations over our lives and personal circumstances. This is a season of breakthrough upon breakthrough, and we must hear God asking us, "What do you want from Me?" and activate our faith afresh. History is literally being spoken into being as we pray. So God's call to us is simple: "What do you want from Me?"
Speak forth what God is saying with boldness and answer Him. God is waiting to answer your decrees! Your voice is shifting history, activating redemption and partnering with the God of breakthrough.
Be blessed as you pray, ask and decree. (To Subscribe to the Elijah List subscribe here.)
