"Are You Going through a Storm? Find Out What God is Releasing"

I sense a mighty release of the power of God against storms and buffeting winds that are being sent against His saints. God's voice, peace and divine strategies are being released to bring you breakthroughs. You have been designed and specially crafted by the Master's hands to overcome buffeting storms and winds.

Fairly recently, the Lord gave me a very detailed dream that showed His divine intervention in stormy situations. It also revealed specific keys of revelation in overcoming the storms of life. In the dream, I had arranged with a young couple (who I'd never met in real life) to go on a fun day out in a boat. As we got into the boat, a massive storm came against it and soon waters began to fill it. The young couple became so terrified that they simply stood in the boat waiting for the inevitable, for the waters to fill the boat and for all lives to be lost. They became resigned to their fate and, for all intents and purposes, had given up on any form of salvation or escape from their situation.

However, in this dream, God gave me the most immense peace and I knew we would somehow escape against all odds. (This is a miracle, because in real life I am not comfortable with water and can not swim and would probably have been the most terrified!) As I looked around the boat I saw buckets lying about, and I told the couple, "We can do this. Don't just wait around to be swamped, let's empty the water with the buckets lying around so that we will not drown." As we started to empty the water, suddenly the storms stopped, the water abated and we saw the dawn of a new day. We were very ecstatic as we stood to welcome it. When the dream was ending, I teased the couple and asked them if they would ever have agreed to go on a day out in the boat if they would have known we were going to face such a hard day with storms.

Divine Revelation for Overcoming Your Storm

After I woke up from the dream, I prayed for anyone in a storm-like situation to receive strength from the Lord and have peace that they would overcome. From this dream, I want to share this prophetic encouragement. (Photo via Unsplash)

You might be on a path in your life where you thought you heard God and stepped out on your journey of faith. Then suddenly, the storm came, and you felt swamped. Like the couple in the dream who were encouraged not to give up but to take steps to empty their boat that was filling with water, I believe Heaven is releasing new strength to you to lift your head up and receive that extra push of faith to praise and worship Him, to release decrees to your storm and to receive the divine strategy Heaven has for you to come out of your storm.

It was only as the couple started to remove water from the boat that the storm abated. In the dream, our efforts to empty the water from the boat looked so little, but Heaven responded and the storm was still.

The Lord also gave me these additional revelations to share from the dream for the Body of Christ:

The boat in the dream represents an abiding place of safety which could be a home, ministry, business, marriage or relationship. The excursion on the seas represents the journeys we all undertake in life at some point. The storms that came in represent hindrances and oppositions. The instructions God gave me for the couple represent the voice of the Lord directing us to what we need to do to overcome stormy situations. I also believe that the Lord was using the boat as a symbolic reminder of how Jesus was present in the boat with the disciples He loved. I believe He is releasing a timely reminder to you saying that He is in your boat too.

The Lord impressed on my heart that there are those in the Body of Christ who He has given supernatural abilities, gifts, strengths and authority which they are unaware of. These abilities from the Lord were intended to provide a way of escape from trials and temptations that represent storms against us. After all, in 1 Corinthians 10:13 He promised us that He would not allow temptations beyond what we can bear and that He is faithful to provide ways of escape from these temptations. The supernatural abilities and authority given to us by the Lord to overcome were the buckets lying around in the boat, unused and unseen until the direction of the Lord came for the couple to see all He had provided for them to be victorious.

I sense the Lord's compassionate heart to open eyes and hearts to discern what has been given by Heaven in this hour to overcome. Your buckets lying around could be a new sound that the Lord wants to release through you, a high praise, supernatural insight that will give you wisdom on what to do in a given situation – a new strategy for your business, marriage or ministry. The key message the Lord is giving here is this: "Arise from your ocean of despair and stop waiting for the 'inevitable failure' that the enemy is causing you to see. Arise and press in with new strength in order to see the dawn of a new day."

A Testimony of Healing

I had shared a testimony before on The Elijah List about how the Lord healed me of high blood pressure, but I feel it pertinent to mention it again as this was an apt situation where the Lord made me aware that He was in my boat, and showed me how to overcome the storm of this illness.

As a leader in a healing revival ministry, I very much believe in the Lord's ability to heal any illnesses and have seen many sicknesses healed. But just before 2017, after receiving consistent readings of high blood pressure with the advise to start taking medication, I was initially anxious, especially as I remembered some of my dad's family dying from this illness. However, the Lord assured me that if I trusted Him, He would heal me. For 4 days I praised, worshiped and meditated on healing Scriptures without any medication (though I am by no means advocating that Believers should not use prescribed medication). The doctor then took my readings again and told me that my blood pressure was back to normal and to date I have remained healed with consistently good readings of blood pressure. (Photo via Pixabay)

In that situation, the worship, praise and meditation on the healing Scriptures were the buckets lying around in my boat that needed to be used to cause the storm of illness to abate.

God's Intervention for Storms Against Marriages

Dreams are many times often multi-layered. This dream reveals strategies for the Body of Christ to overcome storms, but because of the deep connection I felt with that married couple in the dream, I also sense that another layer of the dream has to do specifically with God intervening in some marriage relationships that unexpected storms have come against. One of the ways the enemy tries to cause heartbreak for the Body of Christ is to attack family and marriage relationships. I sense the Lord's encouragement for families experiencing intense pressure against them to arise and speak to their storms, "Peace be still."

Several years ago, a married couple, who were very much in love, suddenly started to experience a storm of intense conflicts in their relationship which suddenly escalated into irreconcilable differences. The wife, who I was mentoring, told me she was going to divorce her husband as a result of the conflict. She had given up because she did not know what else to do. This might sound too good to be true, but as the Lord used me to reveal to her the hidden strengths and authority she had within her, she boldly rose up in intercession and decrees to command the storms of conflict against her marriage to stop.

This woman's ability to release her authority through warfare prayers to save her marriage were the buckets lying around that she had overlooked. A short while later, her husband called her in a conciliatory manner to reconcile. Of course they still had to take steps of reconciliation, but when she decided to rise up and press into prayer, pushing through demonic barriers, the battle shifted in her favor and a turnaround came. Their marriage was beautifully reconciled with no further plans for a divorce!

Be encouraged friends, the Lord Jesus is in your boat. Partner with Him and allow Him to show you hidden strengths, strategies and abilities to release against your storms.
