Holly Watson: "A Pioneering Move of the Spirit in Hollywood"

I believe a breakout move in Hollywood of the Spirit of God is upon us. Not only is this move positioned to impact the media, arts and entertainment (and the music industry) in unprecedented ways, but the Spirit of the Lord has already begun knocking on the doors of the people's hearts in Hollywood to awaken them to the love of God and His saving grace.

Night Visions

Recently, while I was in a time of prayer and fasting, I was awakened out of my sleep through an encounter with the Lord. Holy Spirit frequently speaks to me through dreams and visions of the night, so it's not uncommon for me to receive revelation during the night or early morning hours.

Dreams, night visions and supernatural encounters are a common occurrence all throughout Scripture. The New Testament is filled with instances where Holy Spirit relayed important messages through different means of communication (Acts 16:9, Acts 13:2, Acts 10). God often spoke to His people during the night hours and by encountering Him in various ways (2 Chron. 7:12, 1 Kings 3:5, 1 Kings 19:11-13).

With this particular encounter, it was a few weeks preceding the 500th year anniversary of the Protestant Reformation of Martin Luther. As an intercessor, I pray for reformation and a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit often. However, my prayers weren't particularly focused on the reformation of the Church at the time.

I hadn't previously studied the Protestant Reformation but had read other articles about the significance of this year and the link between the 50th year anniversary of the Jesus People Movement as being markers for a fresh awakening of the Holy Spirit. So to my surprise, when I was awakened out of my sleep, the Lord spoke to me about something I had very little knowledge about. But isn't that the way God normally moves (1 Cor. 1:18-27)? 
 
"For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts." (Isaiah 55:8-9)

Surprised by the Voice of God

The dawn of a new day was approaching when the Lord walked over to me, leaned in close, looked me straight in the eyes and said, "Pay attention to what I'm saying: Paris Hilton never did like Chuck Smith." As my eyes popped open and this unusual phrase resounded in my spirit, I have to admit I had no idea what it meant. I rarely watch television, but I know who Paris Hilton is. I'm familiar with Chuck Smith, however, until this encounter, I had very little knowledge about his life and ministry.

As the voice of the Lord reverberated in my spirit and the atmosphere was electric with His presence, I became keenly aware of what I just heard to be of great significance. Without hesitation, I said, "Lord, what does Paris Hilton have to do with Chuck Smith?" I knew enough to know that these two people being paired together in a dream or otherwise, was probably very unlikely. What would a Hollywood socialite and a pastor of a well-known church, who has gone home to the Lord, have in common in this day and time?

It was then that Holy Spirit took me on a journey of weaving this timely revelation, concerning these two pioneers, into the plans and purposes of God.

"But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence." Two Least Likely Pioneers

Chuck Smith was the founder of Calvary Chapel Church in Costa Mesa, CA. He and Lonnie Frisbee (a power evangelist) were pioneers in the Jesus People movement that broke out on the West Coast in the late 60s. Calvary Chapel Church was a hub for the Jesus People Movement in Southern California. The Jesus People Movement reached thousands of young people, hippies, and musicians with an uncommon approach to spreading the love of Jesus.

Chuck Smith pioneered the transformation of church services, contemporary Christian music, and more. His relationship with other churches in the Southern California area ushered in a supernatural move of the Holy Spirit with signs, wonders, and miracles following. Chuck Smith hosted and recorded a daily radio program called, A Word for Today which still broadcasts Biblical messages around the world fulfilling the Great Commission.

Paris is a Hollywood personality and socialite with a multi-faceted history. Paris is a businesswoman, a music artist, author, actress, and entrepreneur. Although Paris' life knows much controversy, she's most well-known for pioneering reality television. Paris' first reality show, The Simple Life was followed by a second reality series, Paris Hilton's My New BFF (best friend forever).

The popularity of Paris Hilton's second reality show created a spin-off television program affording her worldwide recognition. Hollywood and modern-day society were transformed by the pioneering spirit of Paris Hilton and her cutting-edge vision to change history through media programming.

"Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we'd better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit!" (Hebrews 12:1 MSG)

Hollywood Meets Jesus

As Holy Spirit led me through the lives of these two well-known people, I began to see a linking of how the Lord was preparing to move by His Spirit in the coming days. The Ekklesia is positioned for a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit and contending for the Light of the World to outshine the powers of darkness permeating the earth (John 8:12). Hollywood and the entertainment industry are currently undergoing a time of exposures and cleansing.

Through much sadness, we see the atrocity of sexual misconduct and innocent lives being victimized by the works of darkness. The Media Mountain is using its influence to speak falsities, rumors, and untruths towards our government and elected officials. Yet the Media and Entertainment Mountain are fertile soil and a rich seedbed for revival. Hollywood will see Jesus! There's a remnant interceding for a mighty outpouring of Holy Ghost power to move across the earth for all to see! 

"Arise shine for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you. See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness over the peoples, but the Lord rises upon you and His glory appears over you. Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn." (Isaiah 60:1-3)

When I heard the Lord say, "Listen closely to what I'm saying: Paris Hilton never did like Chuck Smith", I believe He was speaking to me in parabolic form. A parable is a statement or comment conveying a meaning indirectly. Jesus used parables in His ministry. He even explained to the disciples His use of parables was to reveal the truth to those desiring to hear it and to conceal the truth to those who didn't (Matthew 13:10-13).

Proverbs 25:2 says, "It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter." God hides revelation to draw us into His Heart more deeply. He uses the foolish things of the world to bring His name glory (1 Cor. 1:27). So it came as no surprise when I discovered Paris Hilton's popular reality television series was titled Paris Hilton's My New BFF (my new best friend forever)! It also came as no surprise to discover the spin-off show from this same reality series, created a worldwide trend changing the course of history for television viewing as we knew it.

God is about to collide two worlds by His Spirit to bring about a great end-time awakening and gathering in of the harvest of souls. A merging of streams through a mighty move of the Spirit of God spreading worldwide revival is travailing through its birth pains, even now, so that God gets the glory for all He has done! A new friendship is in the works! The Spirit of the Lord is breathing on Hollywood and the hearts of the people are primed and ready to receive Him.

I believe a breakout move in Hollywood of the Spirit of God is upon us. Not only is this move positioned to impact the media, arts and entertainment (and the music industry) in unprecedented ways, but the Spirit of the Lord has already begun knocking on the doors of the people's hearts in Hollywood to awaken them to the love of God and His saving grace (Rev. 3:20, John 10:3, Eph. 2:8). A new move of power evangelism touching movie sets, television lots, recording studios, the Screen Actors Guild, and the real-life day-to-day routine of Hollywood is coming full circle as a spin-off likened to the Jesus People Movement hits the streets and ushers in revival throughout the land. The Millennials are partnering with the generals of the faith to forerun this move with a radical love and obedience to Jesus. 

There will be an awakening of souls impacting the Hollywood community. This will spark a new move of the Spirit that trickles down into the hearts of the least likely, unlikely, and most uncommon individuals.

It will be a mighty move of the Spirit, reaching television and media viewers all around the world. This will result in Hollywood meeting Jesus with the fire of His love, making a profound impact over the powers of darkness dominating the airways.

The Hollywood community and the Church will be merging streams in a dry and weary land. Together, they will be positioned to broadcast over the airways their testimonies of healing, miracles, and signs and wonders for all to behold. News of Hollywood and the Holy Spirit becoming BFFs (best friends forever) will send shock and awe waves to onlookers and unbelievers alike.

As darkness is overshadowed by the glory of God, a harvest of souls will become the new normal for Hollywood's day-to-day "business as usual" transformational process! The Great Commission will be exploding onto the Hollywood scene! "God is in the midst of her, she will not topple; God will help her, just at the break of dawn" (Psalm 46:5)!
