"Heaven Comes to Me"

 God has been speaking to me through a number of prophetic voices since January 1st, about the importance of obedience to God.
Well, of course! Why is that revelation?
Because we rarely connect obedience with intimacy with God or as a way to attack the fear coming against us.
Then this morning, my friend, Dr. Alveda King, sent me this word and I wanted to quickly share it with you!
Dr. King, in this word, writes:
"It hit me like a bolt of lightning. Obedience overrides fear! Moses was so in tune with God to the point that any thoughts of danger from snakebite was far from his present reality."
Why not join me this year, in making a renewed commitment to seek intimacy with God through greater obedience to His still, small Voice in 2016!

"Heaven Comes to Me" as Obedience and Perfect Love Cast Out All Fear
For 28 years, I was mentored by the founder of Believers' Bible Christian Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Pastor Allen McNair taught his congregation the tenants of faith with uncompromising discipline. It was like boot camp for me for many years. Having been "born again" in 1983, I walked into the "BBCC" doors in 1987, and when Pastor McNair said, "Welcome home" in greeting to the Church Body that morning, I knew I was home and have been there ever since. Pastor McNair departed for Heaven on October 10, 2015. There was a glorious celebration at the time of his "home going."
His son Theo, Jr. is now Senior Pastor, and with his mother Anna McNair, brother Timothy and sister Angela Mattox, they are leading the ministry now. Their dad had established me as an evangelist two years before his "transition." I've been on the road for months now, increasingly proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
On a recent morning, while reflecting on the newness and restored freshness of my "walk with God," remembering my departed Pastor, and taking morning moments to reflect on God's Word, a Scripture came to me: Exodus 4:4. "But the Lord said to Moses, 'Put out your hand and catch it [the serpent] by the tail.' So Moses put out his hand and caught the snake, and it became a staff in his hand."
It hit me like a bolt of lightning. Obedience overrides fear! Moses was so in tune with God to the point that any thoughts of danger from snakebite was far from his present reality. There are several examples of obedience to God and the rewards of such throughout the Bible. Remember Moses following God's command to bring liberty to a nation; Abraham's willingness to sacrifice his son Isaac at the command of God; and Christ's obedience, the ultimate sacrifice unto death. Such obedience springs from love and trust in God! Perfect love of God will always cast out fear.
I recall one time when Pastor McNair was still alive. Our ministry had a satellite building where my African Humanitarian Outreach office was housed. I was packing up to leave the building which was housed in the back of the compound. The administrative offices and staff were in the front of the structure.
Suddenly, I heard a rumbling and a low growling that became louder and louder coming towards my part of the building from the hallway connecting the offices throughout the building. The lights in the hallways went off. Fear gripped me and I began to scream. The lights burst back on, and I looked down the corridor and there was Pastor McNair, laughing. I can remember him saying: "You must not have perfect love, because perfect love casts out all fear." Needless to say, I felt pretty sheepish.
In closing, let's be encouraged to remember this year that "obedience is better than sacrifice," and that "perfect love [truly] casts out all fear." I believe that God will birth many new witty inventions and creative projects such as music, art and books this year, if we can cast away fear and obey the stirrings in our souls to release the messages within us!
As a producer, author and songwriter, I am finding that there are many who have "gifts" that they've been holding on to. Now is the time to abandon fear and release the power of creativity in you. Maybe this song, "HEAVEN COMES TO ME," which is one of the last songs inspired by my beloved Pastor McNair will bring your heart closer to Heaven, and the power to obey in Faith and Love.
