From the desk of Steve Shultz:
As an "over 50" person (OK, I'm 59), I take great courage in this word by Bonnie Jones.
Even many of us who have been in ministry, and though some of us have a public presence, have a feeling or a sense that we might have missed out on some of God's greatest promises and moves. For myself, I totally missed out on the "Jesus Movement" as the circles I was in didn't pay attention to it. Even much of the Charismatic movement passed me by because of circumstances.
Now that I'm older, the younger generation is preparing for their own new "Jesus Movement" that's about to explode on the scene, and many in my age bracket feel that they've missed or will miss all this because of their age.
NOT SO, the Lord is saying through this word by Bonnie Jones:
"...The ministry of love, wisdom and understanding will be their greatest message. The over fifties have gained wisdom through trial and error in life and have learned how to run without getting weary. They've learned by experience how to rest in the Lord. There's an abundance of wisdom to be imparted to the younger generation. Youth have the zeal to run but lack the wisdom to know when to stop and rest. It's in that place of resting in God we obtain knowledge, understanding, peace and unconditional love."
"Be encouraged over 50s!" the Lord is saying. You've been prepared specifically for this time... the time in which you will shine like the sun!
Enjoy and be encouraged!

A Vision: The Lord is Refueling the Over 50s Quickly - Placing Them On the Fast Track
Post Office Tires
In a vision, I was given an old bike but the tires had dry-rot and were flat. An older white-haired man, wearing an orange mechanic suit, put new tires on my bike. Now, the new tires were really fat and thick. The mechanic said they were post office tires that will last forever and never go flat.
Old But Not Forgotten
The older generation has weathered different streams of the anointing over many years. Perhaps they've been set on the back burner or felt unimportant, yet they never jumped ship. They trusted the Master to lead them through the dark night of the soul and light their path along the way. Often times they felt overlooked and perhaps forgotten, all the while God was preparing them with wisdom and understanding for such a time as this.
It's time these old bikes were taken out of storage, dusted off, and given new tires. The tires I saw were like the extra-thick, wide rear tires of an Indy race car, known as racing slicks. These wide tires would replace the original thin and badly-worn bike tires.
A racing slick is a type of tire that has a smooth tread and used mostly in auto racing. They were developed in the early 1950s. My bike came from the same time period. Although the bike was old, it had new racing tires and was ready for the fast lane. Even though the appearance was a little odd, it was very easy to maneuver. (Photo via ratro bike)
Bob Jones was the older mechanic dressed in the orange suit, and the fact that he put new tires on my bike makes me think there were three separate things related to his anointing. First, his revelation-type gifting would be a major part of the over fifties ministry. I also remembered Bob's prophecies about the postmen and/or circuit riders. These were men and women who would deliver the good news and make new disciples. Some in the cities, some in the countryside, and some will be sent to the far corners of the earth. Thirdly, Bob was dressed in orange and that color represents love that will flow from these postmen as they deliver the mail.
The Pit Crew
On race day at Indianapolis, pit crews of mechanics remove old tires and replace them while refueling the race car and hydrating the driver. The average pit stop takes about 10-14 seconds. This is amazing! I believe the Lord is refueling the over fifties quickly and placing them on the fast track because everything has been accelerated in the Body of Christ. (Photo via enwikipedia)
They have been under the yellow caution flag for years so they wouldn't run ahead of the Holy Spirit. But now the Starter has waved the green flag and they are ready to run the race of a lifetime. Because the Holy Spirit has prepared them they will run their race and pick up the checkered flag as they cross the finish line.
The ministry of love, wisdom and understanding will be their greatest message. It's in that place of resting in God we obtain knowledge, understanding, peace and unconditional love.
The Post Master
I realize that for the move of God that's at hand, the Body can't advance with old tires. Because the frame is older, God is giving it maximum traction to add power to its mode of transportation.
After all, He is the Post Master and we are the postmen delivering His mail. He has dressed His postmen in a holy array and equipped them with a sharp fiery two-edged sword to ward off the enemy. With each delivery they make, the Gospel of the Good News, "LOVE" will be imparted. (Photo via enwikipedia)
This old bike vision reminds me of the parable Jesus told about the old and new wineskin from Luke 5. The point being: the old scratched-up bike with the original but now dry-rotted tires, hung in a garage for many years. It was no longer useable yet the owner didn't want to part with it.
In the same way the over fifties have patiently waited in the wings for their appointed time of release. The old tires can't be filled with air or certainly they would burst. So the Post Master is putting new tires on them Himself and calling the postmen to deliver His mail. His Word will last forever!
Then He spoke a parable to them: "No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old one; otherwise the new makes a tear, and also the piece that was taken out of the new does not match the old. And no one puts new wine into old wineskins; or else the new wine will burst the wineskins and be spilled, and the wineskins will be ruined. But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and both are preserved. And no one, having drunk old wine, immediately desires new; for he says, 'The old is better.'" Luke 5:36-39
