Prophetic leader Cindy Jacobs, author of "POSSESSING

has a way of thundering even when speaking gently. And I believe that a word
she shared from the platform of the Call New York City this summer is now set
to bring tremors to our land.
Cindy prophesied regarding the next Call in America, to be
held in Kansas City on December 31, 2002—which happens to be my wife Jessica
and my 12th anniversary. Though this detail may seem
inconsequential, please keep it in the back of your mind as you read on.
WHAT WILL BE BIRTHED WILL BE REVIVAL
“I am bringing forth such (Yada) intimacy with My people
at The Call Kansas City,” Cindy prophesied during the final hours of the Call
NYC. “The Lord says what will be birthed will be Revival, even as Pentecost
was birthed in that heartland region, so I have brought My heart
there.
“The Lord says 'Look and see, this timing is key to the
breaking out of Revival to this whole nation for it’s a marriage.
There will be a release from this marriage that will affect the whole nation,'
says the Lord. It will affect San Francisco, it will affect New
Orleans, and it will affect Miami.”
Cindy went on to share that “this will be the launching of
something that will affect the whole nation.”
Because of the accuracy of Cindy’s prophetic gift and the
witness of the Spirit, I knew this word was on target. But when
she spoke of a ‘marriage’ during the Call KC, a floodtide of memories made
this ‘knowing’ intensely personal.
In January 1997, my wife Jessica and I were invited to
join a prayer team for a retreat in Colorado Springs. At the request of Dr.
C. Peter Wagner, Cindy Jacobs and her husband Mike had convened the meeting to
help birth the United States Strategic Prayer Network. Their dream was to
network intercessors in each state to labor together for national revival.
During this gathering, Cindy saw a recurring image of an
"X" over the entire nation. The X symbolized the reproach set over America
and a spirit of abandonment over the youth, then known as Generation X.
"X" REPLACED BY A BRIDAL CANOPY COVERING AMERICA -- COAST
TO COAST
Suddenly the vision changed, and the X was replaced by a
Bridal Canopy that covered America from coast to coast. This tabernacle was
secured by tent pegs in the four corners of our land. Cindy saw a large
‘center post’ for this bridal canopy arising from the geographic center of the
US.
In Jewish tradition, the bridal canopy is a
tent-like structure in which a bridegroom and bride are married. Under its
covering, they exchange their vows and receive the priestly blessing.
No Jewish newlyweds could miss the symbolic message of the
Tabernacle of David, with a priesthood of adoring worshipers beholding God’s
beauty night and day after the ark of God was placed under a the protection of
a canopy. The ultimate expression of this is pictured in Isaiah 4, with the
Holy Spirit brooding over “Zion (the place of worship and prayer) and all her
assemblies…for over all the glory will be a bridal canopy.”
A GENERATION OF YOUTH BEING MARRIED BACK TO THE LORD
Cindy felt that the bridal canopy she saw over our land
represented a generation of youth being married back to the Lord, and joined
back to each other under the covering of God’s glory. Under the shade
provided by this bridal canopy, He is joining together what Satan has long
labored to divide asunder—joining a generation back to God, joining parents
and children, joining races, even joining movements.
. . . The Lord is re-mantling America!
No sooner had Cindy Jacobs shared this vision than
she got an idea for a prophetic act. It was wedding time!
Jessica and I were the youngest intercessors at this meeting. Cindy and her
husband Mike asked if we would exchange wedding vows again as a prophetic
picture of this marriage of youth back to the Lord, and back to each other.
Other leaders and intercessors were to hold the bridal canopy over our heads,
symbolizing spiritual moms and dads covering this next generation.
At this suggestion, Jessica began to weep.
Tears soon began to flow freely about the room as Jessica told the story of
our ‘first’ wedding, marked by the very sense of abandonment Cindy had
identified.
Jessica and I were married shortly after the birth of our
first child. Due to a variety of reasons, only a few of our invited friends
and family showed up for the ceremony—a combination of a wedding and a baby
dedication.
We were both broke and broken-- possessing little more
than a promise from God of forgiveness and restoration. Yet the Lord stood
for His covenant with us, and amidst the backdrop of countless impossible
situations He has propelled our family into a dimension of life and love we
never thought possible. Jesus is a wonderful Bridegroom—entirely faithful!
And for this marriage ceremony, we were surrounded by
nurturing mentors who wept with us, prayed for us, and invested in us. Mike
and Cindy Jacobs gave Jessica away, and Dutch Sheets married us.
A PICTURE NOW COMING TO LIFE BEFORE OUR EYES!
Through this prophetic act, God painted an unforgettable
picture of a generation of broken youth being married back to God and joined
to each other. It is a picture now coming to life before our eyes, with
massive numbers of youth giving their lives wholeheartedly to God. And like
no other time in recent history, this current generation is being surrounded
by mentors who are devoting energy to see their spiritual kids come to
fullness in Christ.
And maybe it’s more than a coincidence that,
two years after Cindy privately prophesied about a bridal canopy emerging over
the nation, a 24/7 ‘Tabernacle of David’ prayer movement was launched very
close to the geographic center of America. The heartbeat of this
International House of Prayer in Kansas City, founded by Mike Bickle, is the
revelation of Jesus Christ as a Bridegroom to His people. Jessica and I are
currently on staff at the IHOP-KC.
And this December 31, we will be celebrating our 12th
anniversary by gathering with tens of thousands of others for the Call Kansas
City. My personal belief is that only God could have orchestrated so many
details of so many lives to make known the hope of His calling—revival in
America.
As Cindy admonished, “Look and see, this timing
is key to the breaking out of Revival to this whole nation, for it’s a
marriage. There will be a release from this marriage that will affect the
whole nation, says the Lord.”
So if you count yourself among the generation of youth
pegged by God for His glory, please consider coming to Kansas City this New
Years Eve. And if you’re among the fathers and mothers called to mentor the
next generation—your presence is more important than you can possibly
understand. Please add your hands to ours in helping to hold up this bridal
canopy!
And what God joins together, let no man divide asunder…
