From the desk of Steve Shultz:
You may notice that we often say that we publish "prophet's words" or "words by those who prophesy." Only God knows for sure; I am not into the title as much as I am into the function of prophesying. Neither am I put off by those who are called prophets. We are all in the process of "learning to prophesy." This is why the Old Testament talks about the Company or Schools of the Prophets.
This is a word from recording artist, Julie Meyer, who is featured on our new ElijahSounds CD After the Rain, which you can order below. Julie had a significant dream—but it was three years ago. Here's a note Julie Meyer sent to us with her article: I am sending you this dream that I had on Tuesday night, May 4, which I also had three years ago. I feel it is a now word. I sent it to Patricia King and she actually called me last Friday morning (May 7) and said she is sending it out. So I am sending it to The Elijah List to read and send out.
Three years ago when Julie Meyer had this dream, people might have claimed she was just having a "pizza dream." But when it comes true, "pizza" becomes "pure revelation." We must give God HIS timing for a dream to come to pass. Not every dream is from God, of course. Some are just our subconscious working. But this dream now appears, after the fact, to have been from God.
I can relate to this dream as I used to play the trumpet and, many years ago, I even taught trumpet lessons. And we did go through those warm up scales and exercises. I have often felt that what we do as an avocation in real life is a sign to what we will do in our prophetic life. Lately I have felt like warning the Church, and many years ago I taught trumpet lessons; so why am I surprised?
God was giving me a hint of my future calling. Oh, and for the last three years, I have spent hour after hour weeping in the Lord, so I know what it feels like to rend my heart. In this account, by the way, rain can represent prophetically the act of repentance and even tears. Tears are not required, but we often have them amidst corporate repentance.
Also, did you know you can simultaneously weep for the Church and rejoice? I know because I've done it.

A Dream of April Snow: Rend Your Hearts—I Want Your Attention
I first had this dream three years ago regarding "April Snow" with the promise of God's invitation that—if we do the little, He will come and do the big in our lives, and that which tripped us up yesterday we shall tread upon tomorrow. In the dream, we were invited to watch for snow in April and abundance of rains in the spring. That dream is actually in my book called Invitation To Encounter: A Journey in Dreams. Well, recently I was invited to Mammoth Lakes, California, and I was in a literal blizzard. It was April 27, and I was in a white out. You could not see anything. I was reminded over and over again of my dream called "April Snow."
"I Want Your Attention"
I was awakened at 2:23AM with the sound of a trumpet. I heard a real trumpet; it woke me up and I looked at the clock. It was the sound of a trumpet player playing a warm-up scale, like he was getting ready to sound an alarm. I thought I was dreaming, but I was awake and I heard the trumpet playing.
I immediately knew Joel 2: "Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm..." But also Joel 2:23: "Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you; the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month."
I saw in this encounter that it is a time to "rend our hearts," because the sound of the trumpet saying, "I want your attention," was ringing in my ears, and I know that God is going to restore. I know that God's eyes are on Nashville in this season, for this dream was real, and it was a dream that was alive.
Joel 2:12-13 "Even now," declares the LORD, "return to Me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning." Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the LORD your God, for He is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and He relents from sending calamity.
I kept hearing the trumpet in my left ear. Then I went to sleep and I had a dream that I have dreamt before, except the dream started in the middle. This was from the dream "April Snow" from three years ago.
"Rend Your Hearts"
In the dream I was at the House of Prayer when the intercessors were crying out for God to come and rend the Heavens (Isaiah 64); and behind each intercessor was an angelic being with the Word of God opened. This time each one of them had a trumpet in their right hand. Before they would speak they would blow on this trumpet as if to play a sound that says, "I want your attention...I am serious."
Then these angelic beings, one by one with a voice like the sea, would declare, "REND YOUR HEARTS" (Joel 2). Then one by one the intercessors would go up and say, "Rend the Heavens," and the angelic beings would step up to the mic behind each intercessor and take the trumpet and blow a long sound followed by seven short notes. Each time it was a long trumpet sound followed by seven short rhythmic notes playing the same note over and over.
Then it began to rain and rain and rain. Even in the houses of prayer and churches it was raining both on the outside and raining on the "inside." I saw that with the Cry of Repentance it began to stop the rain on the outside, but rain on the inside kept getting deeper and deeper. Everywhere people began to pray, and as people lifted their voices in repentance, the rain began to stop on the outside, but it would continue to rain on the "inside" of the buildings. And the angel would show up with his measuring line and put it in the waters as if measuring the depth of it. He would nod with a "yes" when the waters reached the waists, and then the water would spill out the doors and went onto the streets.
Then the wind began to blow and the singers started singing, "It is time for the winds. It is time for the winds to blow. It is time for the activity of the Holy Spirit." The winds began to dry up the water on the outsides of the buildings, but the water on the inside of the buildings remained.
Invitation for Nashville and the Southern States: The Trumpets are Playing the
Sound of "Turn to God"
Then I was taken to Nashville and I saw great devastation. And I saw this same thing—I heard the sound of the trumpet over Nashville, and the invitation went out for a great turning and great repentance: Calling all churches, calling all houses of prayer, calling all leaders; the sound of the trumpets are playing the sound of turn, turn, turn, turn to God (Joel 2:12).
This included Nashville and the southern states. For you have a name that you are alive but you have sold out to fame, favor and finance. But, at the sound of the trumpets, if you will join Heaven and cry out and rend your hearts, I saw that which is on the outside of the buildings begin to dry up quickly and rain begin to fall and fill the inside of the houses of prayer and churches. The angel with the measuring stick began to measure the waters on the inside of the buildings. Then this angel lifted up his measuring line and it became a trumpet, and the angel began to play and proclaim Joel 2:23-27:
"Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God; for He has given you the former rain faithfully, and He will cause the rain to come down for you; the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month. The threshing floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil. 'So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you. You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and My people shall never be put to shame. Then you shall know that I am in the midst of Israel: I am the LORD your God and there is no other. My people shall never be put to shame.'"
That was the dream...
God bless,
