Is a Food Shortage Coming?

Is a Food Shortage coming or even possible? Many people seem to think so including prophets and leading economists. We who are Believers have been promised in the Scriptures that we can believe for supernatural provision as in Psalm 37:25 "I've never seen the righteous forsaken nor His seed begging for bread." On the other hand, God also provides by prophetically showing us things to come so we can make the necessary provisions. This was true in the case with Joseph. Through the prophetic forewarning he received, Joseph was able to be the channel that God used to help His people and the nations in need during a crisis.

The prophet Agabus prophesied of a famine coming and the apostles immediately started to make provisions for those in need. Acts 11:28, "One of them named Agabus stood up and began to indicate by the Spirit that there would certainly be a great famine all over the world..." In Matthew it says that there will be wars and rumors of wars, famines and pestilence in the last days as these signs seem to be accelerating. Recently prophets have been prophesying the past few years that these food shortages are coming also to the USA. Although in the natural it is true that natural disasters such as in Japan, Chile and New Zealand are increasing as gas and food prices are rising, we who are God's people are people of faith and should not be in any fear but walk by faith as God reveals things to His servants before they happen when we listen to Him. The book of Proverbs says, "A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences (Proverbs 22:3)."
