Rosangela Atte: From Outback to Comeback - The Wilderness Has Produced Its Harvest

Rosangela Atte, Maple Ridge, BC, Canada
Oct 8, 2026

Two nights ago, I had a dream. In the dream, my husband and I gave a gift to our great-nephew who had just turned one. It was a $100 gift card to a restaurant called Outback.

When I woke up, I wrote the dream down, as I usually do. I immediately sensed that the Lord was speaking to me about the end of one season and the beginning of another, particularly as we enter the final quarter of the year, the fourth quarter, representing completeness. The final quarter, added to three quarters, turns it into a whole.

The Hardships and Gifts of the Outback Season

The first thing I did was look up the description of the Outback. The Australian Outback is a vast, remote, and sparsely populated region known for its extreme climate, isolation, arid landscape, and difficult living conditions. Much of it is wilderness, harsh and demanding. Survival there requires endurance, preparation, and perseverance.

Then I looked at the origin of the name Australia. It comes from the Latin word australis, which means "southern," and was derived from the concept of Terra Australis, meaning "Land of the South." That led me to look more closely at the significance of the south in Scripture, and I found something very interesting...

Biblically, southern regions were often connected with both wilderness and promise, testing and restoration, hardship and provision.

The Negev, for example, was the desert region south of Israel. Genesis 12:9 tells us that Abram continued journeying toward the Negev. It was an arid and sparsely populated place, yet it became part of the journey through which God formed, tested, and established the patriarchs. Egypt was also located to the south of Israel and carried a similar duality throughout Scripture. At different times, it became both a place of refuge and provision and a place of bondage from which God eventually delivered His people.

The south can also appear in passages involving both judgment and deliverance. In Ezekiel 20:46–47, the prophet is instructed to set his face toward the south and prophesy against the forest of the Negev. Yet Scripture also connects southern lands with restoration, fertility, warmth, and abundance. There is a striking Biblical picture here: The same landscape that can represent wilderness, dryness, testing, and hardship can also become the setting for promise, fruitfulness, and restoration. The Prophetic Meaning Behind the Name and the Place

And that brought me right back to the restaurant, Outback Steakhouse. The name Outback immediately brings to mind wilderness, desert, isolation, dryness, and harsh conditions. Yet the restaurant itself presents the exact opposite picture. Its food is known for being rich, filling, hearty, heavily seasoned, abundant, and indulgent. The portions are generous. The meals are designed to satisfy. Instead of scarcity, there is plenty. Instead of wilderness rations, there is a feast. That contrast stood out greatly to me! (Photo via Pexels)

"And in this mountain the LORD of hosts will make for all people a feast of choice pieces, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of well-refined wines on the lees." (Isaiah 25:6 NKJV)

The Power of 100

Then there was the $100 gift card. Throughout Scripture, one hundred can carry the idea of fullness, completion, fulfillment, and abundant return. Jesus spoke of seed producing a hundredfold harvest in Matthew 13:8. Abraham was one hundred years old when Isaac was born, marking the fulfillment of a promise that had seemed impossible for many years. Even in mathematics, one hundred carries the picture of fullness: 100 percent represents the whole, the complete measure, nothing missing and nothing left unfinished.

There is another connection that caught my attention. Strong's Greek number 100 is hadrotés, a word associated with "abundance," "generosity," or a "generous gift," appearing in the context of the financial offering described in 2 Corinthians 8:20. Once again, the imagery pointed toward abundance, generous provision, and fullness.

Significance of the Names Connected to the Dream

Even the names connected to the dream carried significance. My niece's name is Veronica (the mother of my great-nephew). In Greek, the name is Berenice, meaning "bringer of victory," and in Latin it carries the meaning "true image." To me, this spoke of the Lord bringing us victory and of bearing His true image as we go through the metamorphosis of the wilderness—dying to ourselves and yielding to the process of crushing and pruning.

My great-nephew's name is Alessandro, meaning "protector of man." Immediately, I thought of Jesus. He is our Protector and our Defender. He is always with us in the furnace, in the storm, and in the valley, encouraging us to move forward when we think we have no strength left.

So, what was the Lord saying to me through this dream?

You Have Come to the End of Your Outback Season

I heard Him say, "My child, as you walk through the harshest, most painful and most difficult time of your life, I am with you. I am carrying you through the wilderness, and I am leading you to the promised land. You have come to the end of this cycle of trials, and you have entered a season of unimaginable blessings—one-hundredfold blessings for you! The mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and the hills shall flow with milk."

"And it will come to pass in that day that the mountains shall drip with new wine, the hills shall flow with milk, and all the brooks of Judah shall be flooded with water; a fountain shall flow from the house of the LORD and water the Valley of Acacias." (Joel 3:18 NKJV) (Photo via StockCake)

"Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert." (Isaiah 43:19 NKJV)

"Extreme abundance shall follow you! The harvest will happen so fast and yield so much that it will overtake and overwhelm you! Restoration—a time of deep healing, peace, and rich provision in the land I am bringing you into—all for My people after their OUTBACK season!

"You will eat out of your pain. Your tears will be turned into sweet wine, your pain into rich honey, and I will feed you from My own hand! Celebrate, My child! Celebrate the end of the wilderness season! I know it's been long. I know it's been painful. I know you wanted to give up, but you persevered! And that pain, that trauma, those tears are what produced the harvest."

"You have filled your storehouses with plenty! They are full to the brim! The dam is so full that it is bursting. And your blessings are going to come rushing through so suddenly, with such force, that as you begin to taste My goodness in the land of the living, that force will wipe away your enemies once and for all!"

"'Behold, the days are coming,' says the LORD, 'When the plowman shall overtake the reaper, and the treader of grapes him who sows seed; the mountains shall drip with sweet wine, and all the hills shall flow with it.'" (Amos 9:13 NKJV)

"I am setting a table in the presence of your enemies, My love! The food that you will taste is like nothing you've ever tasted before, so abundant, so rich, decadent, and satisfying! I am doing a new thing! Can't you feel the shift? Can't you hear the sound of the abundance of rain?" (Photo via RawPixel)

"You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; my cup runs over." (Psalm 23:5 NKJV)

"Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain." (1 Kings 18:41 NKJV)

"This chapter called 'Outback' has come to an end. It's completed. It has served its purpose. It has produced its harvest, and now you are going to eat the harvest that comes from it. You are going from Outback to comeback!"

Get Ready!

People of God, rejoice with me! For our Lord is great! He is mighty! He is powerful! He is good! We are entering a season that is going to be filled with one blessing after another! We will taste and see His goodness in the land of the living, now, on this earth.

Oh, get ready, get ready, get ready! Begin shouting for joy! Begin to worship Him! Walls are coming down, chains are coming off, and His glory will fill the earth! Your pain has a purpose and it has an end. The time is now!

"For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, that flow out of valleys and hills; a land of wheat and barley, of vines and fig trees and pomegranates, a land of olive oil and honey; a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing; a land whose stones are iron and out of whose hills you can dig copper. When you have eaten and are full, then you shall bless the LORD your God for the good land which He has given you." (Deuteronomy 8:7–10 NKJV)

"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living." (Psalm 27:13 NKJV)
