Kim Potter: Your Tipping Point Is Coming - Look Up!

Our Tipping Point

This word was originally released on September 22, 2026:

There is a phrase that has been coming to mind repeatedly the past few days. That phrase is "a tipping point." This isn't the first time God has spoken to me about a tipping point. Yet here I am hearing those words again. Not only hearing the phrase, but several messages I have tuned into online are talking about tipping points. It seems many people are hearing, "We have reached our tipping point!"

As I have meditated on this phrase recently, a thought rose up in my spirit: We have reached our tipping point. My mind went back to a few years ago when God had me studying tipping points. I knew I had to find my notes from that time, and thank God, I did find them.

My study of tipping points began with something God once spoke to me. I had been praying for one of our partners. God instructed me to sow a seed for this partner. I sowed that seed. Later, I was thinking about the seed I had sown because it was a sacrificial seed for me at that time. I said to the Lord, "Okay, Lord, I have sown another seed." Expecting no response, I was surprised when He spoke back to me. He said, "There will be a tipping point."

He had emphasized the words "will be"; therefore, I knew without question, I would reach a tipping point in my giving. When that occurred, my harvest would come rushing in.

A tipping point is defined as "the point at which a series of small changes or incidents becomes significant enough to cause a larger, more important change" (Oxford English Dictionary). Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book entitled The Tipping Point. He said that breakthroughs come as a result of repeated behaviors that build up an accumulative effect to a critical mass. He said when the tipping point is reached, a breakthrough occurs, much like the collapse of a dam when a small constant trickle turns into a flood.

This makes me think of 1 Chronicles 14:11: "So they went up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. Then David said, 'God has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breakthrough of water.' Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim" (NKJV). (Photo via Pexels)

The Amplified Bible says it like this: "So [Israel] came up to Baal-perazim, and David smote [the Philistines] there. Then David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the bursting forth of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim [Lord of breaking through]" (AMPC).

Our God is the Lord who breaks through. Our prayers are being heard. Our giving is being seen. There will be a tipping point. Don't quit. Don't give up. Keep pressing forward. The Bible tells us we will reap in due season if we refuse to give up.

I once read an article about businesses that relates to this concept. The article said most businesses do not fail because they are unable to become successful. Most businesses fail because someone gives up before they reach their tipping point—their time to reap the reward from the work they have invested in their business.

If God is saying, "There will be a tipping point," that is good enough for me. Every prayer we pray, every offering we give is being seen. The tipping point is coming. That tipping point may be today, or tomorrow, or next month.

Perhaps you are seeing a trickle of answered prayers—a trickle of healing, a trickle of relief from debt. If so, don't quit. That trickle will turn into a flood as the Lord of the Breakthrough comes on the scene. Breakthrough is imminent. The tipping point will come. Perhaps it already has.

Look Up!

This word was originally released on September 25, 2026:

Just like the phrase "tipping point" has been going through my mind lately, another phrase has also been going through my mind. I have heard it in movies, in sermons, and even in articles I've come across in the past week. The phrase is "look up!"

One elderly man taught his grandson this: "Whenever you come across a problem you can't fix, look up." The grandson used this insight to help him through several challenging journeys.

However, when I think of the words "look up," I think about what the Word of God says about this truth:

"I will lift up my eyes to the hills—from whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, who made Heaven and earth." (Psalm 121:1–2 NKJV)

"Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You who dwell in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters, as the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to the Lord our God, until He has mercy on us." (Psalm 123:1–2 NKJV) (Photo via Pexels)

When we face things that we simply do not have the answers for, the Bible teaches us to look up to God. He alone has the answers we need in the moment. Hebrews 12:1–2 says, "Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God" (NKJV).

When we look up, we are looking unto Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. He is our Master, our Lord, and as we look to Him, He will lead us and guide us in the way we should go—every time—if we continue to look to Him.

"Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance." (Psalm 42:5 NKJV)

I love what David says here. He doesn't allow his heart to remain cast down or to look downward even in times of trouble. And, when his soul is cast down, he knows exactly what to do.

"O my God, my life is cast down upon me [and I find the burden more than I can bear]; therefore will I [earnestly] remember You from the land of the Jordan [River] and the [summits of Mount] Hermon, from the little mountain Mizar." (Psalm 42:6 AMPC)

When he becomes discouraged, he simply remembers what God has already done for him. Sometimes I must do the same thing! I must remind myself how faithful God has been in the past and how He has come through for me in previous seasons.

My friend, I don't know what you are going through today, but refuse to look down. Remind yourself to look up. Look unto Jesus! Look up to the Lord who made everything you can see around you. Look to your Master and your God. He will move mountains for you. He will perfect all that concerns you as you continue to look up unto Him. We have His word on it.
