Yvon Attia: You Backed the Right Horse - Your Faithfulness Will Be Rewarded

During my prayer time for the October prophetic word, I heard the Lord say, "You have backed the right horse. Your faithfulness will be rewarded." At first, I did not fully understand what the Lord meant by those words, but as I continued to pray, He began to draw my attention to the parable of the pounds in Luke 19.

The Parable of the Pounds

Jesus tells the story of a nobleman who went into a far country to receive kingly authority and then return. Before leaving, he called ten of his servants, placed a pound into the hands of each one, and instructed them to conduct business until he came back. Yet almost immediately, the atmosphere of the story becomes hostile. The citizens hated the nobleman and sent a delegation after him, saying, "We do not want this man to reign over us."

As I prayed over this passage, I felt the Lord highlighting the uncertainty surrounding those servants. Their master had left, opposition against him had become public, and they did not yet know what the outcome would be. They did not know whether their master would return with authority or whether those opposing him would prevail. Yet the nobleman had already placed something valuable into their hands and told them, in effect, "Do business for me until I return."

Suddenly, I began to understand the phrase the Lord had spoken to me: "You backed the right horse."

The servants had a choice. They could bury what had been placed in their hands, remain quiet, stay out of sight, and wait until they knew who would prevail. From a human perspective, that might have appeared to be the safest decision. Why publicly identify yourself with a man whose kingship was being contested? Why risk doing business in his name when powerful voices were openly opposing him? Why not wait until the outcome became certain?

But the faithful servants did not wait for certainty. They continued conducting the nobleman's business while he was absent. Every transaction became an act of loyalty. Every time they used what he had placed in their hands, they were declaring publicly, "I belong to this man. I represent this man. I believe he is coming back."

The Cost of Faithfulness

I believe this is where the Spirit of God began to speak strongly to me concerning many Believers in this hour. There are people who have served Jesus publicly when it would have been easier to remain silent. You carried His name when carrying His name cost you something. You continued doing what He asked you to do when circumstances around you made you question whether it was worth it. You continued using the gifts He placed inside you even when Heaven seemed silent and the King appeared absent.

There were seasons when it would have been easier to bury the pound. It would have been easier to hide your gift, protect your reputation, withdraw from the battle, and wait until everything became clearer. It would have been easier to say, "I will serve again when the environment is safer. I will speak again when people understand me. I will step out again when I know how this story ends." But you kept going. You continued to conduct the King's business. You continued to pray, serve, give, speak His name, and use what He had placed in your hands. (Photo via Pexels)

You Have Been Found Faithful

Then the nobleman returned. He came back having received kingly authority, and suddenly everything changed. The question was no longer whether he would become king. The king had returned, and now he wanted to know what his servants had done during his absence.

The first servant came and reported that what had been entrusted to him had produced ten more. And the words Jesus gives in Luke 19:17 are so important to this prophetic word: "Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities" (ESV).

As I read those words, I felt the Lord highlighting this phrase as a decree over faithful servants in this season: "Well done. You have been faithful."

The master did not merely reward production. He recognized faithfulness. He saw what that servant had done while the master was absent. He saw his loyalty during uncertainty. He saw that the servant had continued using what was entrusted to him even while there was opposition.

More Will Be Given

Then Jesus continues with another principle in Luke 19:26: "To everyone who has, more will be given." The NLT expresses it this way: "To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given" (NLT).

And again, I felt the Lord emphasizing those words prophetically: "More will be given." You were faithful with what looked small and more will be given. You used the gift when it would have been easier to bury it, and more will be given. You remained loyal when loyalty cost you something, and more will be given. You continued conducting the King's business while others were waiting to see what would happen, and more will be given.

The first servant did not say, "Look what I accomplished." He said, in effect, "Your pound produced this." He understood that the gift came from his master, the opportunity came from his master, and ultimately the increase belonged to his master. Faithfulness was never about self-glory. It was about stewardship.

Then there was the third servant. He wrapped the pound in a cloth and kept it hidden. He preserved what he was given, but he never used it. His explanation was fear. Yet in the atmosphere surrounding this story, I cannot help but see another fear operating beneath the surface: What if the nobleman does not return? What if I publicly identify myself with him and he loses? What if I back the wrong horse?

So, he protected himself. He did nothing. But when the nobleman returned with authority, the outcome became clear. The horse he refused to back had won the race. (Photo via Pexels)

The contrast could not be stronger. The faithful servants acted while the outcome was still uncertain. The unfaithful servant waited for certainty. The faithful servants publicly identified themselves with the absent nobleman. The other servant protected himself.

You Backed the Right Horse

I believe the Lord is speaking prophetically to those who have remained faithful. You backed Him before you saw the outcome. You remained loyal when loyalty was costly. You continued using what He placed in your hands when others buried theirs. You continued conducting His business when others were waiting to see what would happen.

I hear the Lord saying, "You backed the right horse." I hear the words of Jesus becoming decrees over this season: "Well done. You have been faithful." And again, "More will be given."

Your faithfulness was not overlooked. Heaven saw what you carried in secret. Heaven saw what it cost you to remain loyal. Heaven saw that you continued when it would have been easier to withdraw. Heaven saw that you refused to bury what God placed in your hands.

Your Faithfulness Will Be Rewarded

I believe the Lord is saying, "Your faithfulness will be rewarded.

"This is not a word I, the Lord, take lightly, and it's not a 'new word.' This is a confirmation of what I had spoken to you before. Your public loyalty and love for Me was on display for all to see. You did not count the cost or withhold your love even when you came under the fire. You have chosen to back Me up in risky times, and I have seen how Hell broke loose when you decided to serve Me openly.

"Your love was obvious; it was not hidden even during seasons where it seemed that you were thrown in the fire and that I was absent or silent to your cry. Despite the criticism, the losses, the destruction, and the accusation, you never stopped believing, never stopped trusting that somehow I would come through for you, even if it was in the furnace.

"You remained faithful to My name even when it didn't make sense, and I tell you, your season of open reward is upon you. The fresh oil of Heaven will be poured out. And now I decree the words of Jesus over you: 'Well done, good servant, because you have been faithful.' And I say to you, 'More will be given.'

"You have been faithful with what I placed in your hands. You did not bury the gift. You did not hide your loyalty. You continued to conduct My business even when it cost you something. More will be given. What you have stewarded faithfully will make room for greater stewardship. The gifts you used will increase. The responsibility I entrust to you will increase. For to those who use well what they are given, even more will be given. (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

"I heard the voice of the enemy whisper to you, 'Where is your God whom you serve so faithfully? Was He able to rescue you from the lions? Maybe this was all in vain? Maybe you backed the wrong horse?' But despite the enemy's voice, you continued to be faithful. And therefore I tell you, you are about to witness My breakthrough power, My wild-ox strength, and you will shout out, 'My God sent His angel in the eleventh hour and shut the mouth of the lions! I backed the right horse, the horse mighty in battle, the horse who is mighty in glory. YHWH is His name.'

"Do not fear the diagnosis, the delay, or the verdict. The story will be interrupted. What looks settled is not beyond My hand, and what appears final is not final when I speak again. You are coming into a time of much transition and instability. This is not a time to hold back, but to step out and do your best with what I have placed in your hands today, for your faithfulness will be rewarded. This is your season of divine compensation. The fulfillment of this word is NOW.

"While you watch the economy of the world shake and collapse, while the world steps into a new season of famine and lack, you will experience My glorious provision and My mighty hand of blessing upon you. For your faithfulness will be rewarded, and I am blessing the gifts I imparted to you.

"For as I have spoken through Jeremiah, I repeat these words to you: '"Do not weep any longer, for I will reward you," says the Lord. "Your children will come back to you from the distant land of the enemy"' (Jeremiah 31:16). Your storehouse will be full, for I have given you access to the storehouse in Heaven, access to the treasure room in Heaven. Like Joseph—who stored food during seasons of abundance—what he stored became the source of provision for him during the famine, not only for him, but for others. The faithfulness you have stored during risky seasons, the trust you built, will become provision for this next season. For My fruit in you has ripened and will be a source of provision."

God says, "You backed the right horse. You stayed faithful to Me when others were uncertain, and your faithfulness will be rewarded. What the enemy tried to use to publicly shame your faith, I will now use to publicly display My faithfulness toward you. The very places where you were questioned, mocked, and misunderstood will become the places where My hand upon your life can no longer be denied. This is the time where I will affirm you, your calling, and your purpose. You didn't get it wrong. You backed the right horse, and during this season, the right horse Himself, the God of Heaven and earth, will back you up openly."
