Andrew Towe: A Gust of Restoration

This Is Restoration with Restitution

While in prayer concerning the month of August, I heard the Lord say, "You will see a GUST of restoration in this month. Prepare to stand in awe of what I am doing for My people. What has been stolen is being restored with restitution."

I believe August will mark a significant turning point for many. We are entering the eighth month on the Gregorian calendar, and throughout Scripture the number eight represents new beginnings. I believe the Lord is declaring that this is a season of new beginnings, divine restoration, and supernatural restitution.

Get Ready to Experience God's Goodness Once Again

The Holy Spirit immediately drew my attention to 2 Kings 8, where we find the continuation of the story of the Shunammite woman. This is the same woman who built a room for the prophet Elisha and later experienced the miracle of her son being raised from the dead. Although she had already witnessed God's power, He would yet display His goodness once again.

Before the famine came, Elisha gave her a prophetic instruction to leave the land. She obeyed the word of the Lord, and that obedience preserved her family during seven years of famine. Obedience often positions us for preservation before it positions us for promotion.

After the seven years had ended, the woman returned to reclaim her house and her land. We know that seven in the Bible represents completion. In the Book of Genesis, God created the earth in six days, and on the seventh day He rested. This established the pattern of completion. (Photo via Wikimedia Commons)

"And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done.

"And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life." (2 Kings 8:4–5 KJV)

What Looks Like the End Is Not the End: Divine Set Ups Have Already Been Planned!

As I meditated on this passage, two things stood out to me. First, I noticed that the king was talking with Gehazi. This is remarkable, because in 2 Kings 5, Gehazi had been struck with leprosy after his deception involving Naaman. Lepers were forbidden from entering the king's presence. Yet in this passage, Gehazi was standing before the king, carrying on a conversation.

While Scripture does not explicitly tell us when it happened, I believe this points to restoration in Gehazi's own life. The same God who used him before was able to restore him after failure. What looked like the end of his story was not the end after all.

I believe the Lord is saying that He is restoring people who thought they had missed their opportunity. Shame does not have the final word. Failure does not have the final say. God's mercy is greater than your mistakes, and He is willing and able to restore what seemed to you was permanently lost. We are in the month of NEW BEGINNINGS.

The second thing that stood out to me is the incredible divine timing. The king just happened to ask Gehazi about Elisha's miracles. Gehazi just happened to choose the testimony of the Shunammite woman's son being raised from the dead. And it was at that exact moment that the woman walked into the room to ask for the return of her property. That was not coincidence. It was a divine setup. Only God could orchestrate such perfect timing.

I believe many of you are stepping into your own divine appointments. God is arranging conversations you know nothing about. He is opening doors you cannot open yourself. He is causing your name to be mentioned before the right people at exactly the right moment.

The favor of God is going before you. You may think nothing is happening because you cannot see it, but Heaven has already begun arranging the details. Long before the woman arrived at the palace, God had already started moving the pieces into place. The Lord is doing the same for you. (Photo via Hippopx)

It was during that time that one of the greatest declarations of restoration in Scripture took place:

"And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now." (2 Kings 8:6 KJV)

Did you catch that? The king did not simply return her land. He commanded, "Restore all that was hers." I believe that is the prophetic word for this month. The Lord is saying, "Restore all." But the miracle did not stop with restoration. The king also commanded that she receive all the produce and income from the fields for the entire seven years she was gone. God did not merely give back what belonged to her. He also restored everything the land would have produced during her absence. That is restitution.

The Enemy Cannot Stop God's Power to Restore

The enemy may have stolen from you, but he cannot stop God's power to restore. In fact, when God restores, He often restores with increase. What looked like loss becomes the platform for greater blessing.

I believe many are entering a season where they will not only recover what was taken, but they will also receive unexpected compensation for the years of waiting. Prepare yourself for testimonies that can only be explained by the hand of God.

As we've entered this eighth month, I believe Heaven is announcing new beginnings over God's people. Lift your eyes and expect God to move. Stand your ground, war with your prophetic words, and refuse to settle for what has been lost. I hear the Lord saying to you once again, "Prepare to stand in awe of what I am doing. There is coming a strong gust of restoration. What has been stolen is being restored with restitution."
